Don't really see the comparison with Stranraer & Albion Rovers.
Rovers could score goals for fun but couldn't defend, its the opposite with Stranraer plus if Rovers were inexperienced, Stranraer aren't.
Except for the fact Stranraer conceded 5 more goals this season than Albion Rovers did last season.

Some quick (and possibly incorrect) maths suggests the bookies think Stranraer have between a 10 and 13% chance of avoiding finishing bottom via Elgin/Stranraer wins

There are more than a few League 2 players at one particular club on quite a lot more than £300 a week, I know that for a fact. Not typical, I accept that.
Is it Spartans by any chance?

Been reading posts in other forums about how many teams don't want east kilbride to get promotion due to the spending on players this season.
I'm starting to think it would be unfair on other teams in scottish league 2 if we did get promotion as it appears they're paying their players in food stamps and refundable irn bru bottles .
I'd expect some of the better players in League 2 are on £300 a week, perhaps a little more in some cases, so it's not peanuts.
However, it's incredibly frustrating that your club can have an excellent business model and generate a high a turnover as could be reasonable expected with an average attendance of 500-600, then be overtaken by a club paying some players double that because a rich guy gave them money.

Dumbarton will win the playoffs. This it not a prediction. It is fact.
Come back and green dot this post at 10pm on Friday 17th May.

I can't see us losing by 3 so an Elgin win will almost certainly be needed.
I hope Clyde do finish bottom as they are far better equipped to beat East Kilbride which I certainly hope Stranraer/Clyde do!
As I said elsewhere, N. Jamieson/Wedderburn won't be risked so we only have 15 outfielders to choose from and they're all 'senior pros' so we can't field some sort of joke reserve side. I believe the entire squad is off to Benidorm for a jolly for a few days, leaving a couple of days after the match so perhaps their minds will be elsewhere.
I suspect Stranraer will fly out of the traps but if they don't get an early goal, may become increasingly nervy.
I'm looking forward to a good day out to end a fantastic season.

@Wee man the jackass you forgot Wedderburn gone by Christmas

We have a small squad and all of them are what I'd describe as senior pros, so we actually can't field a 'bad' team full of reserves and youths. The formation/team selection v Clyde recently was about as bantery as it gets.

If I wanted to get promoted, I'd simply comply with the well known criteria.

Get the Highland League punted out of the pyramid and let the wee parochial diddies play each other in perpetuity.

Is Norway stand sold out - anybody know?
It's sold out.

I believe we have now equaled the most consecutive draws in (senior) Scottish football history.

Which of the 10-15 wee boys in the away end were you?
The handsome one.

We did all we could to help Clyde with our reserve keeper starting, the first time we've played a back 3 (with two fullbacks in it) and 'inside forwards' as wingbacks.
A moderately enjoyable game of football with some good goading from both sets of fans.

Are away fans behind the goal or in the main stand?

From us, Jamieson, Jamieson, Buchanan is spot on.
I'd have Bilham at LB, Anderson instead of Wedderburn and wouldn't have Aitken in.

It's Nicky Jamieson who is out, not Darren Jamieson.

Sorry to interject on the misery fest.
Are the trains to Stranraer still screwed up? Scotrail/Trainline suggests for a journey on 4th May from Glasgow to Stranraer, you have to change at Prestick, short train to Ayr then a replacement bus to Stranraer. Is that right?

Is there access to catering along there or will we have to bring a packed lunch as well? There's actually a catering van down there now. It's one of those fancier ones and the food looks pretty good. There's no phyical barrier between the standing section and the stand so you can walk along to the pie hut/toilets.

I don't think there will be any issues at all if you want to go into the covered terrace. I suspect if it's raining they'll probably just put EF fans in there anyway. Home and away fans were in there v Peterhead and there was of course no problems whatsoever.

EF fans on the terracing as usual?
Behind the goals at the astroturf pitches end

East Fife fans are being punted into the standing area behind the goals at the astroturf end. Bring your umbrella!
