As a balance to a lefty SNP, Scotland could do with a pro indy centre right party.

This would take votes from the tories and give a pro independence politician another seat on the tv panels . This would help stop the the awful yoon lablibtory trio constantly being able to gang up, tag team style, on a solitary independence voice.

Could be a welcome addition, but the new party would take votes from the SNP too though.

It could be a generation before we ever get a majority in a parliament that wasn't designed to give majorities. We may not get this chance again...

Why does there have to be a majority? Wendy Alexander wanted a minority administration to "bring it on".

Fear of support for independence dropping isn't a great basis for rushing into an independence referendum. The approach should be to build support gradually until the result is a near formality, as was the case between 1979 and 1997.

I also remember a properly punked-up version of "Paper Roses" which appeared on CD around the time of our Cup win in 1997. Can't remember the band name, as I'm geting on a bit now...

    It was Last Year's Men.

Loved this one in my teenage metalhead phase, it's still great...

Unionist journos riding to quell the natives before it all gets out of hand. Torrance (expected) Clegg (not expected) Torrance is a Tory so I'm not surprised he's taken to Twitter almost instantly to  explain this has nothing to do with Barnett and all is fine.

The Daily Record's Clegg doing just enough to not show he's completely backing this, but is trying to down play it's impact of Scotland losing out.

    Remember where Clegg's from though.

  5. Probably the worst combination of factors affecting the enjoyment of a gig is to have it outdoors in Scotland on a cold windy night in June. Crap sound, crap view, broad daylight throughout. You've got to put on a blistering performance to make that a good night for the punters.

If a general election can be announced and held in 6 weeks,an independence referendum shouldn't take any longer.

A better comparison might be the EU referendum, that happened 4 months after the date was announced.

Can see Celtic not taking an away allocation for this match/advise fans not to travel, it will be absolute carnage otherwise.

Plenty of Celtic fans won't need to travel far for this one...

I can remember the TV series with the lovely Lynda Carter on Saturday nights but Wikipedia says it finished in 1979.
I would have been six so I'm beginning to doubt myself.
Did it run longer over here?

It was definitely repeated well into the 80s.

They still re-appear now, usually on Horror Channel for some reason...

Is there another democratic country in the whole wide world where the leader of the opposition gets to tell the elected Government what they can and can't do?

In Scotland we have 2 parties in government and opposition at the same time. Very bizarre situation!

Not tarnishing them all of course but I have to say, genuinely, over the last 4/5 years on social media the vast majority of people's profiles I look at after they've made an anti Scotland/Independence post are Rangers fans.

It's literally the only reason I dislike them for their overly pro Union stance. This is also true of Rangers fans I know in real life, not forgetting the stadium displays too. Also who could forget that famous YouTube video??? Booing of FoS at Ibrox when Hibs went there... Rool Bruttanya/GSTQ at full volume at games every single week.

After everything that's gone on they really don't want to lose this part of identity that belongs to them either, imo.

Certainly more than a few anyway.
