  1. Indeed. This is where I’m at too. Pissed off at the time, but the reaction has put us in a very strong position. Nice to be able to look down from a position of strength, that we probably wouldn’t be in now, had we not needed to galvanise.
  2. I came here for the politics, but I stayed for the chickens. Our demotion was a pisser last time around. I feel as though it’s spurred us on though. Not going to lie, I’d love to see one of the clubs who were quite vocal about it last time around suffering a similar fate, though. Would be pretty amusing in a schadenfreude sort of way. Anyway, back on topic.
  3. Stay on topic please. Tell me more about Ms Sturgeon’s chickens.
  4. I just want to hear more about Sturgeon keeping hens. Love how informative this place can be.
  5. Agreed a deal to sign Australian fullback Nathaniel Atkinson subject to work permit.
  6. Are you as angry as you come across in written word right now? I’ve got some fantastic imagery of you destroying your flat like a tenth rate Clash.
  7. Be very interesting to see how this all unfolds. A record of about turns and the reasons given why, will be worth the popcorn alone.
  8. Ah! Yeah, fair enough. Wasn’t really paying much attention to left to right there. we absolutely don’t have a proper wingback in the first team squad, not that I’ve witnessed anyway. No idea about Logan, as I don’t remember ever seeing him play. If we do play with wingbacks, then my preference is Moore and Cochrane though. If we had a proper wingback I’d be delighted to see them get the nod. As it stands though, I don’t think we do, and if it’s 3-4-3, then I want players who will at least join the midfield, and prevent the opposition swamping the two CMs.
  9. If it allows us to bring someone in who can do the job he was brought in to do, but better than him, then yes. He's been pretty disappointing for me.
  10. Sorry, don't follow - The artist who produced a lot of monochrome optical illusion pieces? Staircase to nowhere etc? I think Moore does well as a RWB in all honesty, and when he and Cochrane are our WBs in a 3-4-3, we control the midfield well, because they find space, make themselves available, and join in with the central midfielders. I think we will play a 3-4-3, whether it's my preference or not. Anyway, I should probably reiterate that this isn't my preferred team, it's what I think/thought Neilson will/would play, if the injury situation is what it looked like being at time of posting. If Boyce is fit, then happy days, get him straight back in the team.
  11. Looks like Boyce should be fit for the weekend anyway. Sometimes we need mobility up front to avoid playing into opposition hands, explains Hearts boss Robbie Neilson | Edinburgh News (scotsman.com)
  12. Actually, I think this was the one he scored but was given as off side. Apologies.
  13. Absolutely. I doubt however, that even the Edinburgh Evening News has fallen so far, that you or I calling for Neilson to pack his bags if he doesn’t pick a player, would make the back pages.
  14. I’ve no problem with his scoring stats. I’d like to see him coming off the bench and doing that more regularly, absolutely. He seems to think he should be starting more games for us though. I disagree with that, based on the rest of his game. I actually think GMS and Woodburn get too much stick tbh. Was it not Woodburn that got us up the park and started the move that Walker scored from? GMS’s stats hold up well compared to others in our squad. I just think Walker is far more effective coming of the bench.
  15. I’m sorry, I don’t agree. He needs to do more when he starts games. He’s had a great many chances at this club, to nail down a starting position. If he was doing enough, he would be getting picked. It’s not personal, or some kind of disagreement between the player and manager. If he was doing enough, he’d be getting starts. Why would a manager not choose a player if he was the best option available? I am 90% sure he’ll get his chance this weekend. I genuinely hope he grasps it with both hands and doesn’t look back. Sadly, I’ve just seen it too many times now, and don’t expect a different result. We shall see though, I suppose. All of that said, Blackie is doing him/us zero favours with that stupid social media post.
  16. Didn’t know they are brothers in law. Explains a lot though. The whole “or pack yer bags” shite just stinks of Hearts social media rabble-rousing. Black goes way down in my estimation after what I can only assume was a drunken Instagram tantrum. You only have to look around Twitter etc to see the nonsense that this will feed. I honestly start to to wonder if I’ve just imagined sitting there through games where Walker has started, and him doing absolutely nothing. It frustrated the hell out of me back when he was about all we had in a creative sense, but now that we have other options, I’m far less willing to suck that up. When Walker starts, he leaves big gaps that the opposition exploit, and he ends up getting subbed off. When he comes on as a sub, he generally affects the game in a positive manner. It’s frustrating that so many fans want us to repeat the same process over and over again, when it has played out the same way every time. I expect Walker will start v County, and I expect it will allow County to get more possession than we would like. Would love to be proven wrong, but how many times can you watch the same story and expect a different outcome?
  17. Good to see former players putting their pals’ game time before the success of the team and attempting to undermine the manager at a time when third place is not yet in the bag, and we need to be sticking together: https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/hearts/former-hearts-star-lashes-out-at-head-coach-robbie-neilson-over-use-of-jamie-walker-3501443 Lets all just forget about the cycle of: Walker starts > Walker does nothing and gets subbed > Walker benched > Walker subbed on and scores > Walker starts > Walker does nothing and gets subbed > Obviously it’s far more important to give Walker game time, even when it’s like starting with a man down most of the time.
  18. There’s a definite ned culture at Hibs. Has been for decades. Kevin Kyle isn’t a ned. Lafferty is a bit of a dick right enough. Porteous is way more of a thug than any current Hearts player. Do you see him getting a Scotland cap before Souttar or Halkett? You don’t get caps when you are an unhinged risk to your team mates. You honestly didn’t realise there is a well known ned issue at Hibs, though?
  19. It’s maybe not something you’d notice when immersed in it. I mean the really well known ned culture at Hibs. Riordan, O’Connor, Griffiths; that sort of thing. Wee Maloney will need a ‘big lad’ to have his back in the dressing room, if the more thuggish element don’t take to him. Guys like Porteous for example.
  20. Don’t think it would normally. Scotland, and especially the clubs with a neddier reputation… just have to wait and see, I suppose.
