  1. Dundee United were already relegated, and we were not due to play them again. You maybe didn't hear(/read) it all.
  2. Good post. A lot of points that some people are obtusely choosing to ignore there.
  3. So many new players. Looking forward to seeing what happens tonight. Most of the supports on either side have never seen any of the new guys play, yet they are getting bigged up as good signings. Should be an entertaining game.
  4. The differences are: 1) whether or not HMFC get financial recompense 2) Souttar was unpopular, played out of position and struggling badly at United. They weren’t overly bothered about keeping him.
  5. Can someone send a nurse round to Hoos.net Rice’s house? The guy is clearly in a bad way. Sensational stuff though. Might have to pop on to a Hibs thread and see if his chronic da patter is par for the course, or if he just shits the bed when he’s on Hearts threads.
  6. Maybe to do with age, or where we are at in our lives, but I wouldn’t have to think for a second given the choice. Fair enough if that’s what you prefer though.
  7. I’ve not been here long, but in the short space of time that I have, I have noticed the Hibs fans on here every bit as weird and obsessed as Hibs.net. Few of them as well. Can’t move on Hearts threads for their awful da patter about “diets” and “charities”.
  8. Empoli is stunning by the way. Glasgow, not so much. It would depend person to person, but it wouldn’t be a difficult choice for me.
  9. Yeah, agree with this. It would be transparent and churlish to suggest Souttar isn’t one of our best players, but he benefits greatly from having such a solid base around and behind him. He’s definitely not irreplaceable. I’d rather we had managed to get him signed up, but Savage’s hit rate on players in has been pretty exceptional so far, so I’d actually not be too surprised if we managed to strengthen the whole team with around £400k and the wages saved. That’s if we get anything for him of course. I’ve faith in Smith and Moore too.
  10. Hibs.net Rice’s embarrassing da patter is actually starting to hurt my head. Is he like the local simple guy that everyone just tolerates out of sympathy?
  11. Ah, that makes sense now, thank you. Knew there was something.
  12. Actually, I must admit, I was wrong about Halkett. We did indeed announce it. Bad form that. Livi fans would be in their rights to be pissed about that. I agree with Alexander, shouldn’t be allowed between teams in the same division. Hands up though, I remembered it differently. Souttar from United was an entirely different scenario however.
  13. With Halkett, we didn’t disclose the deal until the season was over. Souttar was being played out of position, and often not getting a game. We paid United a fee.
  14. Not where I’m at tbh. I don’t really care what club he decides to go to. Once his contract with HMFC expires, he absolutely should choose to sign for the club that ticks the most boxes for him and his family. What bothers me, is the way he did it. A pre-contract with a club in the same division, is the worst possible result for HMFC. Souttar benefits, sneaky wee Jackie benefits, Rangers benefit. HMFC get stuck with a player who’s committed to a club that are still on our fixture list, and won’t get any financial recompense. There were ways Souttar could have gone about this, but the way he chose feels like a slap in the face to the supporters and the (fan owned) club. For some it might be because he went to Rangers, but I suspect more people are just a bit disappointed in how he went about it.
  15. Must admit, I find the tabloid prefix of “die hard” amusing. Players are never just supporters of a team. No they are vest-donning barefoot vigilante supporters who would happily toss terrorists of skyscrapers; for the team they support.
  16. He could just take on ownership of those from a (now dead) Royal of the past, instead. William of Orange or somebody.
  17. Yep. I think they are obviously an attraction for a few reasons; money, medals, European participation etc, but that is purely in comparison to HMFC. There are plenty more attractive moves for a player out there, than that. Most of us who support non-OF teams realise that the value of an SPFL winners medal is the equivalent of winning a two horse race. It's just not that prestigious. Putting a star above your badge for every ten your club (and it's predecessor) has won in their joint history is equal parts risible and hilarious. Where they do have an edge over clubs down south, or the ones on the continent (that we would likely be losing players to directly), is the European competition part. Hickey made a sensible move, and I'd hope that many more are brave enough to do similar, if given the opportunity to do so, in the future.
  18. To be perfectly honest with you Joe, I've been to busy enjoying myself watching all the wee diddies (like yourself), flocking to the Twat Signal, to google anything. The Pie and Bovriled Piper, if you will.
