  1. I presume that you think it would be far better if the Falkirk FC board of directors just swept under the carpet, the fact that you have so called fans racially abusing a player?
  2. Mr McKinnon may be trying to break the record of being a Manager to take his teams out of Domestic cups in one season?
  3. I have a funny feeling that Ray McKinnon must have bet on himself breaking the record of a Manager going out of cups in one season.
  4. I honestly know someone who worked with the Falkirk Academy a few years ago and could not speak more highly about it. He was genuinely surprised and disappointed when he heard it had been closed down, as he thought they were doing a great job and had some real talent coming through.
  5. DF - That sounds a bit like the Hartley approach?
  6. Stephen, what confuses me a little bit is, if you are against gambling on moral grounds (which I don't have a problem with), why did you ask GD how the bet would work rather than just stating that you are against gambling when he first offered you the odds? I know I'm being a bit pedantic, but it just seems a bit strange (or did you just lose your bottle?)
  7. I presume that you don't actually "fully expect" to go the season unbeaten or you would have accepted GD's bet in a second ?
  8. But Edi, is there a budget for paying wages to those types of players with the squad you already have (plus new Management deals and possibly of compensation to Hartley and Morton)? I obviously don't know, but would doubt it.
  9. Cheers, just thought there may have been an in-house option, but obviously not if you only had one full time coach!
  10. Thanks Mr Dust, was just wondered what other in-house options you had, cheers.
  11. Fair enough, it was a genuine question- I think I'm happy enough with the way it's worked out for us, but time will tell.
  12. No idea who you are or who you support but pipe down or we'll take your shit too. I seem to inadvertently hit a nerve- it was an honest question from a Morton fan. Some of your fellow Bairns seem to think that signing McKinnon at the last minute was perhaps in desperation, when he would not have much to work with and no time to make signings. I was honestly just wondering whether there was perhaps an under 23 coach (for example) that could have taken you through to January while interviewing for a new Manager?
  13. Just an honest question: When your first two Managerial choices knocked you back, was there nobody else at the club that could have taken over 'till January? Rather than your BOD spending their time taking McKinnon and his backroom staff (knowing that that would be a large financial burden {wages & compensation}) and with no time for signings?
  14. Agreed, mostly everyone involved in professional football (if not all) are in it for the money. And as you rightly say, who in their own life wouldn't do the same, be it an office, factory or whatever. I'm not really one for constantly going on about snakes or rats, but what did bother me was, when McKinnon left the Ton he didn't seem to have the balls to contact the players and backroom staff he had worked closely with (to say cheers, good luck or anything) just buggered off. I also agree that sometimes a move (outside of the initial bag of silver) can often get you exposure & an even better move in the future. But a move to the Bairns at the present time & with the way he conducted himself during that move, I'm not that sure he will have done himself any favours on that front - time will tell.
  15. Doubt it, but he may have been in Dundee checking out his next move?
  16. I know it's far from my business to comment on the FFC board ( outside of Raygate), but I can totally understand EdiBairns point - your board hired a Manager and then put their trust in him. Yes he made a horses cock of his recruitment, but your board did hire him then backed him. I don't think their job was to watch DVD's etc of possible targets, they had hired a Manager to do that.
  17. Fair enough, may be a bit of overkill on the Ton side of things (although I can understand to an extent). But as far as I can see, you haven't really commented on the game - perhaps it's not just Ton fans who obsessed, you may want to have a wee look in the mirror. Anyway, long season ahead, we'll see how it pans out.
  18. DB - You may want to pass your thoughts on to your mate Bairnardo, he virtually set up camp in the Ton forum. Come on, Im sure you expected to see a few Ton fans on here following yesterday's result.
  19. I think that's a fair point, a mate of mine who stays in Bonnybridge (not a fan of the Bairns or the Ton) went along to the game yesterday and thought the standard of football was absolutely honking, much worse than he expected. Looks like there is a lot of work to be done, but it is very early in the season (January window may well be very important to you, but who will be available, and will you have the money for wages due to combo payments. I may also be hard to offload some of the players Hartley signed?) Time will tell.
  20. If that's the case let's hope for your sake that there are no big nasty bad boys in the Falkirk area or Ray may shat his pants and run away again.
  21. Personally, no not really (I appreciate that a lot of Ton fans are though). I do however think that he has acted very poorly, walking away the day before a game without even a word to the players. Now that I see the kind of person he is I am actually quite pleased he is away now rather than later. I also think your BOD have been very clever here, all the Bairns seemed to be totally against them, bottom of the league, no points, Hartley making an arse of things and now all seems wonderful in Falkirk, good deflecting tactics (as long as they can afford it)
  22. How do you see this whole situation panning out? Do you really think that Morton deserve no compensation? If the shoe was on the other foot, how would you feel about how FFC & McKinnon have handled this situation? Unlike a lot of Ton fans I am genuinely not that bothered that McKinnon is away (although it does f up training a bit in the short term) , under his leadership we exited two cups. I think you may be a wee bit naive if you think Hartley and GMFC Won't be looking for money.
  23. I think you want pointed in the direction of what you're Director has said (while dressed up as a reporter)
  24. He may not want to leave his house and may well be embarrassed at the results under his leadership, but he will as sure as hell want his f'n money!
