  1. Lovely stuff. Big Theo is some boy. Yer man Morris is not very good.
  2. I like the positive spin of still aiming for Europe, so I've made a few minor tweaks to your post to make myself feel better about our season.
  3. That's a mental stat! Very much sums up our weird season. A bit off topic, and probably one for the Motherwell thread, but it made me take a look at the wider league table. We've scored more goals at home (24) than anyone outside the Old Firm; only 3 less than Rangers, 4 less than Celtic, and double the number Aberdeen have at Pittodrie (12). The problem is clearly at the other end where only the bottom two have conceded more than us. To bring it back on topic, the stat above clearly shows the majority of our away games are fairly tight - we've conceded 14 in 11 games, but only scored 8 times on the road - and I think it'll be the same tonight. The two goal deficit in the 2-4 game at Fir Park massively flattered us, and although I expect we'll be more competitive tonight, I think we'll see a similar difference in the scoreline. Stating the obvious here, but a win for us would be huge with Hearts, Celtic and Rangers making up 3 of our next 4 fixtures. I can't see it though - 2-0 Dons; Miovski penalty and someone from a corner/freekick crossed into the box (obviously).
  4. Yup, 0-1 at Tynecastle on the 3rd of September. Over 5 months ago ...
  5. Vale looked quite good fun when he came on last night. Immediately booted a County player before he'd even touched the ball, ran around at full pelt for a bit, could have had an assist and then grabbed a goal. Already much more fun than Shaw and Obika combined.
  6. Baby steps and all that given the run we’ve been on, but I’m genuinely a bit disappointed we didn’t hit double figures tonight
  7. I’ve never noticed that before and now it’s the only thing I can hear. Cheers lads.
  8. Forgot this is what it’s like to enjoy a game of football. Look like scoring every time we go forward.
  9. Naa you’re right. I was being a bit facetious. He’s playing well again. Christ he’s just scored a banger but denied by the flag haha.
  10. Starting to worry the St Johnstone version of Theo Bair is back….but turns out it doesn’t really matter if Spittal wants to do that. Get in!
  11. Looking dangerous going forward tonight. Need to make the most of these chances because County look like they’ll create as well.
  12. Get in! Nice goal too - good play between Paton, Spittal and Bair. Bair with the assist too, the big man is racking up the numbers.
  13. Unchanged from Saturday. Not surprising really given a slightly better run of results and improvements in performance. I wouldn’t have minded seeing Miller in from the start to try get hold of the midfield and take the game to County a bit, but he’s a great option off the bench. at least we’ve actually got some options now I’ve we need to chase the game or shore things up. Hopefully Davor and Halliday can keep Dhanda quiet - he ripped us apart in the game up at Dingwall in December. Despite being pretty decent the last few weeks, I have a horrible feeling about this one. 0-2; White header from a set piece and a Dhanda penalty.
  14. Thought exactly the same myself. I think it was Jane Lewis that did the post match interviews on Saturday and the wording of some of her questions to both Bair and Kettlewell were borderline offensive. The big man fielded them pretty well though in typical placid Canadian style.
  15. I said on here before the winter break that Theo would hit double figures this season. I’d like to revise that and say he’s going for 15. Some boy.
  16. For me, Scott McDonald is the main reason we haven’t spent any time in the Championship. Probably our most ‘valuable’ player in my time watching us. We’ve generally done really well with strikers over the last 15 years; KVV, Watt, Moult, Sutton, Higdon, McDonald, Murphy, Porter, Faddy all amongst the best in the league during their time with us. Might be C&A tinted specs but I can’t think of any of our peer clubs that have had the same sort of run with prolific strikers. Time for Theo to add his name to the list!
  17. Looks like we’ve absolutely fucked it unless this Vale guy turns out to be decent. Even then we’re an injury to him or Theo away from asking a wean that couldn’t get a game for Stenhousemuir to help out in a relegation scrap. I’m sure we don’t need to worry about injuries though…
  18. Fair play to Killie, the wee hesitation over the S & T is a good laugh. 90 mins for us to find a striker…
  19. Aye, exactly. If we were willing to chuck the best part of £100k at that Slovakian guy then (assuming that's not happening anymore) we should throw that towards covering a chunk of Kev's wages. I'll be raging if he goes to Killie or St Mirren.
  20. Also just saw a quote from McInness yesterday saying Killie are looking at 1 more addition but likely to be a defender. So Hearts aren’t in for him and Killie is doubtful. He’s going to fucking St Mirren isn’t he.
  21. Is this just a suggestion or a rumour that you've heard? Brophy was someone I thought about last night when I noticed he hadn't made it off the bench for County. A quick look at Transfermarkt shows he's only made it off the bench twice (combined total of about 40mins) for them since early November. He's not a player I'm that fond of, mainly due to his tendency to take absolutely wild shots from distance and never score, but I guess in terms of playing style - mobile, strong runner, fairly quick - he's like a Aldi version of Biereth...maybe? I think I'm getting desperate when I'm considering a guy that can't get a game for Ross County might not be a terrible option. I suppose it'd have to be a permanent deal though with us having Halliday and Montgomery (at the moment) on loan from other Premiership clubs.
