  1. Pointless at this juncture isn’t it? Surely any players that would improve our starting 11 have already signed deals for the coming season. Its so worrying that there’s apparently money available but our squad is in its current nick.
  2. I actually think that middle to front, we're perfectly serviceable for mid-table League 2 standard. Some of the actual football we played last night was fine, and the goal was a really good example of that. Obviously there are huge issues. Rennie had some superb touches to bring the ball under control before giving it away when he tried to move it on. Scullion and Leslie started moves off well which ultimately broke down because of a poor touch from Cameron or Mulvanny. We should have had a second goal, but unfortunately Dylan Duncan sent the ball into orbit. It wasn't great but at least it was *something*. However, whilst not a surprise by any means, the defence was absolutely shocking - Parry included. McCulloch turned in the poorest performance I've seen since Hendji's 9 minutes against QotS in last seasons opener. It seemed like every pass from him was either straight to a Brechin player or sclaffed out for a shy. At one point, Ross Forbes dropped back to double up on his man because he knew what would would happen if McCulloch was left to deal with it. It said a lot that Erik Sula came on and we nearly scored a goal from him fairly quickly. It could be the case that he's got in his own head very early, which doesn't bode well going into what's arguably the clubs most important league campaign in several years. He looked like a fish out of water - the exact opposite of Kian Leslie who was constantly looking for the ball and moved it well. I was actually looking forward to that game last night, but honestly now I just want to get the forthcoming season over with.
  3. I genuinely don't know any Clyde fans who actually wanted him to return in the first place, let alone stay on in an elevated capacity. Only Clyde FC would reward a performance as pathetic as ours was last season with a job upstairs. Beggars belief.
  4. I didn’t see Duffy at all tonight to be honest.
  5. Leslie was good in flashes, as was Scullion. As soon as they dug the ball out though, things fizzled out because we have absolutely nothing else. Exemplified at the death when Scullion zinged a lovely ball in behind for Cameron who just volleyed it straight out of play. McCulloch had one of the worst games I’ve seen anyone have in a Clyde shirt tonight. Quite stunning. The goal was a nice move though. Got to laugh at the folk about scrapping up the back row at the final whistle. What we expecting at this point. All in all, horrible evening.
  6. I'm not sure it's only in my opinion, but go off triggered king!
  7. Oddly, I'm actually looking forward to the game this evening. I think the Killie fans talking about how exciting Kian Leslie is has given me a bit of a kick up the arse, hopefully he's available. Given McLean mentioned Connor Scullion picked up a knock, and Hynes had trained but may not be fit to start, I can see us potentially lining up like this: - Parry - - McCulloch - Sula - P. Grant - Craig - - Forbes - Cuddihy - - Leslie - L. Scullion - Cameron - - Rennie - If Scullion is fit, I'd personally drop start him Cuddihy into right back, Liam Scullion into one of the sitting midfield positions so as to pull McCulloch out. Unfortunately he's looked extremely shaky. Interestingly on the website, some of the trialists for the Paul Kelly cup games have now been named. These include Edin Lynch (now at Stenny), Carlos Lyon (NO) and McLaughlin from Rossvale.
  8. He's clearly just some weird guy who thinks playing the contrarian is smart/funny. Most have him blocked because he's just extremely irritating, but for some reason his post started showing again for me. He has nothing of value to contribute and is treated as such.
  9. Martindale has done his time and shown contrition. Goodwillie has never even acknowledged wrongdoing. One of the stupidest statements I've read on here so far. Quite good going, considering the mouthbreather level in this forum.
  10. You certainly *should*, but often you don’t.
  11. I actually disagree. I think it really highlights the malaise that’s been around the club for the last few years. If you were having a shite time at work, being badly managed, filling in at a department you’re unfamiliar with, in an underperforming team, it’s going to have an affect on your output. It’s the same with footballers. The fact that Cunningham has went to Kelty, been played in his actual position, and even in pre-season has looked more of a player than he ever looked for Clyde says so much about how the squad has been handled.
  12. That's good to hear! To be honest it always looked like he had it in him. He seems like a great lad and there's no doubt that Clyde hasn't been a great place to be for the past few seasons so fair play to him for moving and kicking on.
  13. Come on you. The very act of doing the interview in the first place is hubristic.
  14. It’s not. He’s a weapon. Shame on anyone for watching this and continuing to facilitate his hubris. Genuinely abhorrent stuff. This whole situation has brought such shame on the club. We’ll never recover from it, and deservedly so.
  15. Ah ok, apologies! I just seen he had made the move back to Largs and assumed it was because he couldn’t cut it, so I take that back.
  16. I'll be honest, Dylan Duncan looked good in what I saw from the Paul Kelly cup games. He was the big laddie wearing no. 10 that quite a few folk were talking about in here. However, from his level to the professional game is a huge jump and those games will give us absolutely no insight into how well he'll cope. Unfortunately, for every Scott Williamson or Aaron Healy, there are 20 Nathan Hendji's or Will Sewell's who just aren't capable of making the step up. We really are in trouble if this is the type of signing we can muster. We've seen this exact thing time and again with no success whatsoever. Even after one competitive game, it's plain to see that with 2/3 injuries the squad is absolutely ruined. At this stage we should have a clear view of what the starting 11 is and be filling the squad out, instead we have a squad full of filler and are in desperate need of any quality whatsoever. Horrendously mismanaged and hugely disappointing, as per usual.
  17. Interesting that it still hasn’t been brought up here that Clyde FC, a professional football club, have managed to get into a situation where we will have both a red home and away jersey this coming season.
  18. An absolutely stinking take. Season upon season we get fed absolute garbage from the club. It’s not the young lads from Hibs or Killie that annoy me, for instance. It’s the lack of a cohesive squad in general. Re-signing players that we know don’t work. Asking fans to blindly be positive about a group of players, 60% of which got us relegated in one of the most pathetic seasons in recent memory, is just really fucking weird.
  19. Truly on a par with the infamous “Page, McGrath, Jones, Mortimer” day of 2021
  20. This is exactly it. I didn’t renew after the club signed a literal rapist because I felt like that didn’t align with my views and tbh that was just the final straw, given how little say or even information I got when I was an owner. The club have done absolutely nothing since to convince me that the model is worthwhile in any sense. I’d absolutely love to be a real part of my club, but unfortunately that’s not what you pay for.
  21. Any chance it could be posted in here? Very interested but my ownership lapsed a few seasons ago
  22. Stenhousemuir are also having a bit of bother. It’s the combo of RJM and their Puma stock. The teams that use adidas haven’t been affected and their kits are out already. It’s probably not RJM’s fault, more to do with the brand and difficulty obtaining stock.
