  1. I totally forgot about these going on sale on Thursday. Managed to get two tickets for Poland and Croatia, in shite seats behind the goal, but couldn’t get 2 together for Portugal. The seat map was showing as 2 available but when I tried to add them to my basket it wouldn’t let me. Not sure what was going on with that.

The new system seemed to work pretty well but it was a bit confusing trying to select adult and junior tickets. Only took a minute or two to get my head around but when you are only given 15 mins to complete the checkout and want to try and get tickets for 3 different games it made me panic a bit.

Morrison is absolutely minted apparently. He owns a lot of the new buildings on the waterfront in Dundee I’ve been told.

He was saying last night that ILI started sponsoring us and this battery farm thing all came from Morrison doing a job for them and this is just a favour in return. Must have been some fucking job he did if this is work multi million pounds.

He seems like a sound enough guy and I have no basis for this but I reckon he will keep covering our losses for a few more years if this battery farm thing gets dragged on and on. If at the end of the road the application does get rejected I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him call it a day. He’s clearly very invested in this project and to put all that work in for nothing would be the final nail in the coffin for him.

Ah, does he own Inverness or an investor?

I'm sure I've had dealings with him if it's on the site that used to house the Michelin factory.

Current Chairman. No idea how much he owns of the club tbh.

He didn’t say where it was. It’s not the one on the opposite side of the kingsway from Asda that is already up and running if that is where the Michelin factory used to be.

I wasn’t there but I read the chairman used the Broomhill game as an example of where the club actually lost money as there was only 2 away fans at the game.

Yes Mr chairman, but what about the Hibs game in the next round? Did we lose money there?

Yeah he did make that comment. He didn’t speak much, thankfully, but it was full of shite jokes mostly. The worst one was directed toward Keith Haggart about there being loads of folk in the highlander room for once. I mean, read the fucking room mate.

So it’s a one-off payment, but no regular income going forwards?

In which case, we still need to take other steps to become financially sustainable (like getting rid of Gardiner), otherwise we’re just kicking the can £3m further down the road.

Yeap, once we getting planning approval we sell the shares in the battery farm company for £3.4 mill.

That money is then going to be invested in projects on the ground we own at the stadium to make the club self sustainable. We need to generated between £500k-£950k a year to plug the losses as long as we are in the championship.

Think of all the centre halves we can get with nearly 3 and a half million quid

Seen a few folk on twitter say that Ross Morrison spoke quite well

Honestly, I thought it was going to be a complete and utter disaster after the first 5 minutes but aye he was very impressive. Maybe didn’t handle Bannermans opening question very well but he is very emotionally invested in this, as well as financially, so I’ll cut him sum slack on that.

He was incredibly honest about everything and he came across as a normal bloke tbh not like one of those corporate wankers who responds with your typical bullshit.

Going into the meeting I was expecting to come out thinking the club has just gone and made an arse of something else but they’ve got me convinced. Only getting one side of the story, obviously, but it’s looking like extremely odd behaviour from the council. Or 2 councillors in particular. I don’t know what it is but it seems to be fairly obvious they have some sort of hidden agenda.

Even if the vote doesn’t go our way next week they seem confident the Scottish government would overrule the decision on appeal. However that could take a while and we are extremely fucked financially if we have to wait 6 months or so to get a decision. The £3.4 million offer also might need to be renegotiated if it does go to appeal.

A few Scotland things over the last few days.

Firstly, the men bounced back from their defeat against Canada to convincingly defeat the hosts, UAE, by 8 wickets. Charlie Tear made in beaten 56 in the chase on his debut.

Cricket Scotland have appointed Doug Watson as the permanent head coach. He was in temporary charge last summer and will take up the role once again in April after the conclusion of his contract with Auckland.

And finally, details of the next World Cup League 2 series have been confirmed. Forfarshire’s Forthill ground in Broughty Ferry will host the series against Namibia and Oman on May, with Oman hanging around for a T20 at the same venue 2 days after the last ODI. Think I’ll try and get along to one or two of these games, it’s just along the road for me and a ground I quite like (mainly because I took a 5-for the only time I’ve played there, albeit at a very very low standard of the game!).

Was happy to see Dundee  being announced as the location for these games. Much better for travelling down rather than going to Glasgow or Edinburgh. Will hopefully get to a few of the ODIs now.
