  1. Can't agree more with earlier post. We looked completely lost today. Thought Thompson was harshly dealt with as he st least looked as though he was playing for shirt. Not sure why Caddow was replaced so early especially when it would have been better swapping Moses for Crimes. Saw Allum and Guthrie talking to a few players and others, boy how City could do with them. I wonder what they thought? Must be laughing seeing as they have a cracking Irn Bru tie next week against Linfield at home. Heard some good things about the Spartans team this season. Might think about going see them in this game to see how they play.
  2. By all accounts our new renters spartans appeared go have put in an excellent display again last night. We need some of their spirit. . . .. buy there again they have some of our old boys who were maybe more city committed
  3. I was not there but bad result last night. However looking at some reports over last couple games things are hopefully coming together. Having tightened up defence we now just need to score goals
  4. Whilst City held their own on tuesday and sadly lost to another late goal I am not convinced we have a big enough squad. I note we appear to have a few players out for a few weeks and at present probably only u21s to back up. The Betfred is fine as a income generator but for the smaller clubs it could have serious consequences for the start of season with to many early injuries. Rather City just see it as pre season rather than too competitive otherwise we could have a similar start to last year.
  5. I see Spartans have signed 3 City players announced tonight. Mcfarland, Stobbie and Guthrie? Great signings for them but a sad loss to City. All 3 helped city achieve much over the last few years hope City acknowledge their time as each must have been several years with City. Time will tell.
  6. From what I have seen on here there are plenty moves a foot with other teams. Still not enough players quoted and Betfred not that far away so hopefully we will a big surprise. And I don't mean the latest tweets about strips and running aboot town.
  7. An awful lot about strips and not a lot about players. All the pics on twitter and FB more or less show the same players that have already been paraded but no new ones? Surely City need to start letting supporters know something about what this season holds. At present there are only about 8 players that they have told us about.
  8. A bit concerning that season tickets are now priced and available but to date there is no further team news. Not exactly a good marketing strategy where no excitement to entice buying. Hopefully Jeffries and Co are going to pull a few hats out the bag. Someone earlier mentioned the names that have signed which do not add up to 11 let alone 17 or so needed. Does this mean that more deals done with Hibs or Hearts for loan players or are some of the less important players from last year resigned? An earlier post said something about Guthrie and McFarlane having left and they were the best of the rest so who else is worthwhile keeping.
  9. Some good extensions for players I see. I agree with the post about Beattie last 2 or 3 games where he really was starting to show his worth but sadly injured again. Possibly player coach will be good but City lack options up front. Worrying that other clubs are way ahead signing wise and if the story about the 2 laddies going to Spartans is true then what about the rest. Those were the best of the rest and they probably want game time which they did not get enough of. Big Joe is a massive loss so hopefully Jeffries has some aces up his sleeve.
  10. I know I have been a bit critical of decisions and subs but credit where credit due the manager has done well in getting them to stay up. First time it has been done via the pyramud and in first season as well. If it was not for a few games of thrown away points it could have been the play offs. Next season has differant goals now.
  11. Well done City great game and congrats on staying up and great to se the pyramid working. For once Beattie was really good and not sure they really wanted to take him off. Nice to see the laddie Guthrie get a longer run and was disapointed in Riordan. Antel had one tremendous save which kept the game for City. Good team effort now see if you can just take the last 6 points
  12. Could not agree more. As i said earlier two forwards on bench who have both scored more than Beattie lately and neither used as fresh legs. As you say Beattie was obviously struggling so what are the management team seeing if we can see it. Game was there for taking but wrong substitutions cost City the game. Sad really when you consider the points lost late in games as they could and should have been safe by now.
  13. Well having missed a few games I see nothing has changed. Same old same old and it appears that the manager is scared of making mistakes. City have been criticised for not scoring and still 2 players, Riordan and Guthrie, who have recently scored 4 goals between them and worked well together at Spartans game don't play. Not sure there was much between teams but in ladt minute city lost the chance to go above Berwick on GD. Management team lack imagination and courage.
  14. Surely not as bad as that? I have not been to a few matches recently but my friends who have tell me there is still no selection consistency? I am also assured that Antel was not at fault with any of the 3 goals so I wonder what your game is? City are struggling to score goals and yet 2 players who have recently scored 2 each are not starting. I would have to question the management strategy and what is Jeffries doing in the background
