The fact that he didnt score any goals in 33 appearances for falkirk, or any in 15 games for stenny, doesn’t exactly fill me with confidence.

Not ideal, but key for me is who Mike has lined up to replace Jim G. Difficult shoes to follow, especially with Jack preceding him.

Jim Goodwin - 9/10
Overall, a successful season. He’s got the best out of our small squad and on our day we can beat anyone in the league. Would’ve been a 10 if not for his tendency to try and sit on a lead. Still gutted about that St Mirren cup game.

A quiet deadline day for us - that’s it all done. What we rating the window?
Getting the extensions of the key loanees probably our best bit of business imo. Kirkpatrick coming back on a 18-month deal also a great piece of business. Like last season will take him time to hit the ground running but once he does, no doubt will be key. Hamilton seems a good option too according to reports and works out for all parties with it also paving the way for Greig to move on and get games. Aitchison definitely has a point to prove after an unsuccessful spell at Dumbarton (to be fair, they all seem to be struggling down there). If he can have even have a percentage of the impact Hastie had then that’ll do.
I do think we could’ve done with one more signing to top it off. A defensive minded cover would have been good. Especially if Zak gets his move away today, even though he doesn’t play that’s one defender less for training,squads etc. Still plenty options with Robbo, Taggs, Dick and Stevie moving all across back four.
Anyways, big month ahead as Jim says. Let’s hope the new boys can hit the ground running with the run of vital home games!
Think we’ve had a decent window. Good few loan signings and keeping Dario and Roscoe was a great bit of business. Interested to see how Aloulou gets on at Berwick as always felt he had something to offer but was never really given a shot.
Next 3 games are absolutely huge, think we should be aiming to get at least 6 points out of 9 to try and extend our lead over Falkirk and Partick, and hopefully drag Dunfermline and Morton closer to the bottom.0 -
Good call, Adam. Let's get some padding quality in just so we can fill the bench. That will definitely work over the course of the season. No point waiting a couple of weeks to get in better quality to give us at least a chance of staying up.
However not all players can be of excellent quality. Its just not possible, but only having 3 subs with a keeper and a manager on the bench just simply isnt good enough 3 weeks into the season. Every team needs players who can offer something even if its off the bench.

We badly need some new players in. 15 players two weeks into the season just isnt good enough and today we had nothing to change the game up front. Too many players are guaranteed a game and a couple of injuries and we basically have a bare 11. Also bored of hearing goodwin talking about how we nearly signed these great players; this means nothing. Players that we nearly signed arent going to keep us up this season.
Flanny was excellent today as was hastie but we just couldnt take our chances, something we need to do this season. Badly need to get more players in to pad out the squad so we dont fall away at the bottom.3 -

Weve signed Ahmed Aloulou, played futsal internationally for Scotland and was decent in the friendlies.

Good performance all round, apart from a couple individual errors which you cant afford at this level. Hopefully just a one off. Zack and Andy at the back look like a great partnership and compliment each other well, and the strikers were excellent, spence took both his goals really well. Bench was looking light though tonight with no attacking options so thats clearly an are we need to improve in.
