Good performance all round, apart from a couple individual errors which you cant afford at this level. Hopefully just a one off. Zack and Andy at the back look like a great partnership and compliment each other well, and the strikers were excellent, spence took both his goals really well. Bench was looking light though tonight with no attacking options so thats clearly an are we need to improve in.

They have a point, absolutely ludicrous prices for a midweek game between a championship team and a league 1 team.

We still need 3 or 4 more players. We have a flat back 4 and no one else cover for injuries or suspensions, 1 out and out striker and very limited options from the bench. I agree that the 11 starters we have now are more than capable of competing but its a long season and a big squad will be needed.

Happy with those. Seems strange to have 3 keepers but would imagine that one will go out on loan. The bulgarian guy especially was excellent in the friendlies so hope that he can carry that over into the league.

Another decent performance last night, think the defence that went out first half looked solid enough and when hetherington comes back in that will be a solid enough base. Still need a couple for cover there though, loans might be the best way. Trouten and spence are linking up well so far and both look sharp so should get a few goals out of each of them this season, and hastie looks like a great signing, his pace must be a nightmare to defend against that so we need to utilise that this season. Weve got a decent starting 11 now, if the two trialist defenders sign, and a team which can definitely compete, but we need a lot more depth as its going to be a long season.

The guy at centre back was excellent today, very Jason Marr-esque i thought. Trouten and Spence have been linking up very well and on another day Spence could’ve had a couple of goals as well. Still need a few signings to have a decent enough squad to compete in the championship.

Will be lots of different opinions but im happy with that. One of the best part time strikers in the country.

Would take him back in a heartbeat as well but not sure if he would want to try and stay full time

This season was always going to be difficult having lost key players however letting holmes and marr go looked a huge mistake and it is turning out that way. It was always going to be tough to replace kirkpatrick considering the season he had last year but to replace him with thomas grant who cant even get a game is not a good piece of business in the slightest. Renton is beginning to grow on me as he is winning most in the air and is contributing a lot more to the attacks than he was in the first few games in the cup. Cant understand why cook has been so poor as he looked a good signing on paper but i dont know if its the way goodwin wants him to play or if he genuinely isnt good enough as adam martin looks streets ahead of him. Realistically goodwin was always going to have a difficult job on his hands considering the seasons weve had in the last few years, but maybe he just doesnt have it.

we were very poor last night, lacked any cutting edge and we wouldve been very lucky to get anything out of that. Fleming was very poor and didnt offer anything really and i forgot thomas grant was even on the pitch at times, very poor. Big wake up call and shows we need to strengthen, a quick striker and a defender are needed i would say. Too many guaranteed a game, and i think thats shown in the last couple of games.

Holmes is another one that im gutted has left. A fantastic footballer with unbelievable ability to control a match and despite his age he still strolled pretty much every game he played this season. Goodwin has a big task on his hands now to replace holmes and marr.
