Was it not the move to Ainslie Park that resulted in his move to ice hockey (don’t think he ever did start doing any sort of journalism there)? I understood that he was a Meadowbank Thistle fan who then adopted City? His fanzines were excellent. Wonder what he is actually doing now?

Well done City! Still top of league I see. Wasn’t at the game so how did it go?

Can already see some great improvements with the Citizens Supporters Club up and running. Great wee club with cracking squad playing entertaining fitba and ever-growing fan base; what’s not to like!!

City were ok first half but really gelled second half. As you say, it’s early in the season but things are really looking up for our club. Could do with a stronger away support, mind, and some songs!

Ps Danny Handling walking over after the match to clap the few of us that managed the trip North was a really good gesture. Cheers Danny!

Was at the Elgin game and one of the Elgin die-hards was surprised how much better a team we are this season compared to last. Couldn’t agree more. Very entertaining match with lots of chances for both sides. It could have gone either way TBH. Our fan base will increase if we continue to play entertaining fitba, no doubt about it. ‘Mon the Citizens!!

Even as a Jambo this ex-Hibee is a brilliant signing for City. Actually a FANTASTIC signing for city. Well done to the City Board and a big welcome to Citizen Danny.

Personally, I go to the Raeburn bar in Stockbridge or the Stockbridge Tap (Real Ales) then trundle across the park towards AP; it’s a leisurely 20 minute walk. The Village bar is like drinking in a Travelodge and some of the other local bars are, ahem, best avoided IMO.

I’m still undecided on the crest...but our egg-chasing neebors have fared a lot worse in their attempt to successfully rebrand...

Some good defending but still weak up front. In all fairness, the strong winds impacted heavily on the game. For me, Morrison and Blake stood out. Lewis Allan came on towards the end but didn't appear to be firing on all cylinders.

Glimmers of hope yesterday. Greasiest pies in league by some margin, however.

Deeply worrying result today, albeit a soft penalty IMO. I really hope we can turn this around.

Hectors, Stockbridge Tap then Raeburn Hotel for some beer in their beer garden before the 15 min-or-so walk through Inverleith Park turned out to be rather pleasant. The sunshine helped, of course. When do the bulldozers start at Meadowbank...and have CoEC reconsidered their outrageous 500-seater off-centre stadium offering there?

To recap; Dunsmore, See and Cummings have left City but what's the latest on Harrison, Donaldson, Stobie, Makofo and Allan? Apologies if I've missed an update on here.

So we signed off with a win in the last game the iconic Meadowbank stadium will ever host. Brilliant. And for the record, the sign off song was Spice Girls "Goodbye". Brilliant. RIP Meadowbank Stadium.

Given it'll be the Citizens last game at Meadowbank, any requests for our resident DJ? I've assumed it'll be the usual 80s classics but there must be some apt tunes out there befitting of the occasion?
