  1. Ah well ! all to typical if you support a team from a Dark and Sweaty Kingdom.
  2. Congratulations to Will Vaulks on his first international cap. So chuffed for him and well deserved, one of the good guys.
  3. What has annoyed me since the 60's were clubs with a lower support than Falkirk were able to play at a higher level and discover talent worth millions to sustain it. Hamilton, Partick, Kilmarnock, Motherwell, St Johnstone to name a few. Even when we unearthed international talent we sold them for pennies with no add on payments Kennedy, Gillespie, Irvine, Weir are perfect examples. Also the players that came out of Graham High and Falkirk High that got picked up by other clubs from under our noses is a disgrace. Jim Pearson St Johnstone then Everton and Newcastle. Arthur Duncan Partick and Hibs, John Blackley Hibs, Alex Rennie St Johnstone and many more. What a litany of inept stewardship, if it was not so pitiful it would be funny.
  4. What a sorry state to be in, looking at other teams results to stay in the league. What is so annoying it's all of the clubs own making.
  5. Fair comment ! If we stay up it will be interesting on how he sets up the team. Can't judge on what we are getting at present, he's being pragmatic and that's fair enough.
  6. If only we had a stadium that intimidated the opposition. Having a 4th stand would help but please change the design from what we have at present. Copy of the Brockville stand with up to date safety standards would do just fine. Call it Brockville with the option of an enclosure underneath for the future. Would be a season ticket sell out.
  7. When McKinnon arrived we would all have grabbed the chance to be in the position we are in. Not adrift , in touch and destiny in our own hands. If McKinnon get's us out of this mess which was not of his making. He deserves the goodwill of the fans and the board for at least 3 - 4 seasons.
  8. It's in our own hands. When McKinnon took over we would all have settled for that situation. If we get out of this mess of a season McKinnon deserves at least 3 to 4 seasons goodwill from the board and the support. If we are safe on our last home game the team should run on the park to the theme from Deliverance.
  9. Remember that Raith goal as if it was yesterday. Chip from midfield into the box. Simon took a step back and stuck that big backside of his into the centre half. Took a step forward killed the ball on his chest, dropped to his right thigh and he knocked it back up, spun and hit it on the drop with his left foot in the top right hand corner. This was all done in 3 to 4 seconds. Was in line with it, genius is an understatement. Some Raith players did not even know it was in the net. To be fair the Raith fans a lot of them applauded a great piece of skill, vision and positional sense. One of the best players I have seen in a Falkirk jersey and I go back the 60's.
  10. That last 10 minutes seamed to go on for ever. Jees ! was watching it through my fingers at the end. Mind you 3 pints of Guinness and 2 whiskies in the Newmarket bar and was as right as rain.
  11. Brockville the ultimate bearpit of a stadium. Guys in the enclosure banging and shaking the wire mesh covering the away dressing room. The people in the stand above their dressing room drumming their feet. All building up during the managers pre kick of talk. Them the abuse as they ran out the tunnel. There were about 12 supporters that always stood in the enclosure behind and beside the away teams dugout and gave 90 minutes on non stop abuse ! wonderful stuff. The atmosphere sometime would raise the hackles on your neck. No wonder the Pars called it Castle Doom. Sadly missed.
  12. The only team to win the Scottish cup that had an R in every one of the players names.
  13. Think my card trumps yours. At least Hugh moved about a bit and was faster than a brisk walk.
  14. He had some great moments then spells that if you said were a liability, would be insulting people that were a liability. There was skill there but could not apply it in a team game.
  15. Yes he was. But not a touch on Peter Dunne an ex shire duffer of a centre half we signed. Seen sloths with faster reactions !
  16. Badly handled by FFC. If this had happened in any other business the HR Director would have been rightly sacked.
  17. Every game from now till the end of the season is a 6 pointer. The mindset has to be the same as a cup tie, we must win the game. This is not going to be pretty to watch and not good for the heart or the mental state during games. Just a short while ago you could boast that we had a team of home produced talent and sell a couple of players a year and replace them. Having the hope of selling the multi million pound player that allowed clubs the size of Falkirk such as Hamilton, St Johnstone, Kilmarnock and Motherwell to survive in the top league. Now we are in a situation of scrambling around picking up scraps from other clubs. What a mess and all self inflicted. One thing is for certain at the end of the season. There has to be root and branch reform at every level of the club. Lay out an objective and how to achieve it. Provincial clubs I have mentioned managed it, so there is no reason FFC can't do the same.
  18. Ok then ! Crawford Baptie then Peter Godfrey started at Linlithgow Rose as well. Not saying the Juniors are the answer to our problems, just that they should never be discounted as a source of talent.
  19. Ok then add Brian Martin and Roddie Manley that's just 2 off the top of my head.
  20. Kevin McAllister was signed from Camelon Juniors. There are gems out there and to disregard Junior football as a source of talent is just stupid.
  21. Only one name for the stadium ! BROCKVILLE. The name alone will lift the support and in return make every home game against Falkirk feared once again as the most intimidating ground in Scotland. Get the Pars back to calling it Castle Doom.
  22. McKinnon will have been an the track of these guys within a few weeks of seeing the mess he had. At least he will have had these guys watched and accessed this time. Lets wait before raving about the signings until we see what they do on the park.
  23. The last 20 year old that came back from the USA after being with Celtic was David Weir ! An Omen ! An Omen.
  24. That was the game before the Ibrox disaster. I have often thought about these people I maybe stood beside ( no segregation in these days ) that this was the last away game they went to. The great George Miller and Tiger McLaughlin in that ! wait for it - Great Willie Cunningham side.
