  1. I’d love Mallon back too but he doesn’t boss a midfield and we need an enforcer as other have said so I’d only want him back if we can afford him plus an enforcer type.
  2. Just had a wee look at the Raith Rovers thread, there is unanimous love for Hendry, all sad to see him leave, several with comments along the line of him being their best player in years. One said he’d heard a rumour he was most likely heading to Motherwell, they beat us to a midfielder last year so we’ll need to wait and see.
  3. I’d like him to stay. Maybe Someone could show him the press cuttings of Gavin Reilly’s disappointment when his unsigned contract was pulled off the table. The grass isn’t always greener Jake.
  4. Don’t think that’s a stretch at all, I’m talking about players outside of old firm who would have been enhanced other teams. Our manger said we beat off several teams and In this case I can believe that. Did I see contract offers from others teams, naw! But if double cup winners are showing an interest in him surely you can believe others were. Can’t think of many other players that fit that category. I’m not saying he’s one of the best in the country but on in this range he is.
  5. We apparently beat several teams to his signature, I don’t know who but having watched most teams last year against us he was one of the few players released that would enhance most teams outside of the old firm. Which is why I can believe several teams were in for him.
  6. If Hendry comes in it will be a real statement of intent and back up the boards words, we will have signed one of the most sought after premier league players in Kiltie and in the first division in Hendry. Beating other teams to their signatures. Not to forget others had wanted Brophy. It’s a while since we’ve signed so many sought after players. Beats other teams casts off that’s for sure.
  7. Possibly checking out if he’s Bam or no Bam, before making a move.
  8. I think Kiltie was a really smart buy because he will take McGrath’s position, whether that’s this season or next remains to be seen.
  9. RandomGuy is 1 (one) fan. Yeh but that’s a decent percentage of your fan base isn’t it. sorry you set that up.
  10. At least you stayed in the league after winning the cup which gave you the platform to win two more. If you win nothing for the next couple of decades you shouldn’t complain, you are the only generation of fake fans to ever see your team win a cup.
  11. I know we aren’t in the market for a 15-20 goal striker but I agree, signing a striker we know won’t score more than a few goals is so underwhelming. Aberdeen took a punt on him believing they could turn him into something and they failed. I do not know how Jim believes he can get something out him a better team couldn’t. Still if he sign, hope he proves us all wrong.
  12. Definitely not the upgrade Jim spoke of. I’d rather we gamble on someone who scores more often in a lower league and hope they can replicate it at a higher level than go for a proven goal every 6 or 7 games type player. Or even Lafferty who if Motherwell get will probably see them finish safely above us.
  13. Fair enough I recall it differently, I remember him being hailed the next big thing but I remember the press turning on him quick and they couldn’t wait to get the inside story of the dressing room reaction to his different ways. But that’s memory for you.
  14. Accept he didn’t deliver, said I accepted the examples I gave weren’t great examples in terms of successes but as an outsider I would still say the press couldn’t wait to pick holes in the strange foreigners ways. A serial winner will get respect in the press I’m talking about the press being quicker to attack a foreigner.
  15. Has the media learned its lessons though? They love Pep and rightly so but the rhetoric around Andre VB and in Scotland around Paul LG was very negative. Not saying these managers were great at all! but the press cuts foreign managers less slack. They can’t wait to print a story about Jonny foreigners weird ways not fitting in.
  16. Maybe their owner had someone stick some money on Ange and will use the winnings to fund the rebuild.
  17. Callum Davidson is the outstanding candidate now.
  18. Glasgow City Council had better start recruiting more litter pickers now as at this rate the south side team will be in George Sq. again next year.
  19. He’ll probably sign for Livingston and shoot them to another top six finish.
  20. Possibly, but MacPherson wouldn’t have recruited young players, perhaps a team of Erwin type players.
  21. I’ve slated Erwin in most games, possession breaks down with him constantly but there have been glimmers of a decent player, and I actually thought he played fairly well yesterday. He’s contracted for another season if someone else doesn’t come in for him then we might just have no other choice but to get behind him and hope he comes good.
  22. Well done today, worthy winners 2-1 flattered us.
