Haven't seen any chat on here about the Falkirk Supports Society.  Nobody have mates involved in this?  What are folks views (dare I ask):

    Falkirk Supporters Society

A few months ago, we asked Falkirk fans what they thought about creating a new supporters' organisation. That organisation would invest small subscriptions from across our support, increase the collective shareholding and therefore fans’ influence in our club, so we could promote fans’ views and protect our club from bad decisions and external threats.
Nearly 500 of you responded to the survey and the vast majority supported the proposals. We planned to launch the organisation in April on the back of what we had hoped would end with promotion to the Championship.  However it wasn’t credible to go out to Falkirk fans and ask for money after such a disappointing end to the season.
It’s time to move things along now. Why? Well, the same rules apply. It’s arguably more urgent to have a fans’ voice in the boardroom given recent events on and off the pitch.
We also have an opening.  As you've seen from the club's season ticket marketing, the club has made an offer of a "significant" share donation and a director position for an elected fans’ representative.  We’ve heard the Rawlins’ vision to work alongside fans and the chairman’s “three-legged stool” pitch.
That has changed things.  We will discuss the details and come to a view about whether or not we have a satisfactory offer to take to fans, with a view to, we hope, launching the new fans' organisation at the beginning of the new season.
More to come shortly.  But to be clear - this organisation will be ran by Falkirk fans for Falkirk fans.  The organisation and eventual fans’ director will answer to Falkirk fans.  And our ambitions will only be limited by the amount of buy-in we get from Falkirk fans.

it way well be a great thing long term but IMO it lacks what is needed most at them moment, an injection of hard cash into the clubs coffers to get out this f***ing league.

  2. TBF to the group that process would have undoubtedly taken place if all had been agreed with the board, if its not happening its up to individuals if u wish to make their names public. I know that for a few ( can't speak for everybody on the group) that the money pledged would be looked as as nothing more than a donation - the chance to help the club get back to where it should be was the overwhelming aim.

  3. Pretty incredible to think that the club cud have an extra 600k in the bank going into this season if our chairman just done the decent thing and resigned after last seasons capitulation, if fact he could have walked away claiming to have delivered on his remit to bring extra investors into the club - how in any way can he justify that that decision was in the best interests of the club?

  4. Agreed. During our spell in the Premier league our board was run by people who had invested in the club and had something at stake. Say what you like about MR and SA but they did actually care. The majority of our BOD have nothing at stake.
I was struck at one of the virtual AGM/EGM that when asked the question, they confirmed that nobody on the board at that time had any shares in the club.

The 500k would have been something good - the red lines maybe not.

It sounds like I have 100% faith in the Rawlins.  I don't but I just think we spent so long trying to get control from MR and SA to someone with a bit more know how.  We seem to have that and most of you seem to want to take that influence away and hand it to a group of fans (who haven't even made their identity or proposals public) before the Rawlins have even made it over here.  On top of that it sounds like MR and SA seem to be in favour of letting the fans group in (which would have been the ultimate red flag a few weeks ago).

Its a typical Falkirk made mess.

I dont think its the fact anyone is happy with it but its more he has a proven track record.  I can understand wanting fan involvement/Owners but as has previously been brought up what happens when/if they make a wrong decision does that make it any more acceptable.  Also if there ends up being splits in that ownership model.

It shouldn't need to be one or the other, Rawlins sated when be came in he wanted to work with fans groups and the board when they were assembled said they wanted to work with fans groups and have fan representation on the board, everybody should be willing to work together, as Shadwell said it's not as if he has 50+%, he's in minority and therefore should be working with others - so why when a group of fans come along with 500K+ are they turned away - the difference that money could make to the upcoming season is massive.

I can’t help but feel that the demands are what has put the board and Rawlins off taking the investment. The demands made were pretty strong, which I would suspect set things off badly right from the off. Surely the best approach would have been to ask for representation on the board and then try and have an influence from there.

I get where you're coming from but that would mean the group investing a lot more money than Rawlins did with basically no control while Rawlins runs the show, that dosent seem fair to me.

Just had a chat with someone who has insight knowledge.

Apparently the letter back from the Rawlins to the guy heading up the investment, was both dismissive and patronising in the extreme. If what he says is true...the wording of the response from the Rawlins was worrying in that it was personal, vindictive and basically scalding him like a wee kid.

Worrying times ahead for our club !

They weren't the only one to have had a response like that from the club recently, see the Crunchie Initiative guys.

Not just a rumour, all true. The group were investing as a block and had an agreement to take (26%) however walked away after most of they’re requests including the restructuring of the current BOD and having some form of involment in the process of selecting the new manager we’re stonewalled.  The club seem to want investment but don’t want the fans investing to have any say on how the investment is spent. The one slight bonus is both SA and MR were happy to dilute and donate there shareholding massively to allow the investment to happen, it’s not them that were the issue.

Have to forgive my ignorance of business here.... Whats stopping them from donating/selling their holdings to the fnas group and the fans group then forcing their way to a position of influence accordingly?

I believe any shareholder selling their shares have to get BoD approval.

No offence to you and thanks for posting, but why is the club chairman running his mouth about current managers, ex-managers, current players, ex-players in a chance meeting?

Seems the norm at our club and hence why deans need to go

He loves all the attention of being chair, he made an arse of himself pre season with all the reconstruction chat - was taken for a chump during that whole process, let M&M lead us into this season then waited until the 18 games were up before getting shot, IMO he's been a disaster of a chairman,  unfortunately I don't think he is about to fall on this sword.

  10. There’s a weird aggression you get with Rangers fans that you just don’t get with people who aren’t Rangers fans. Even in every day life. I work with Rangers fans and their always permanently seething. Who has the fucking energy for that?
They have a massive chip on their shoulders because they think they were "wronged" in 2012....that's what it's boils down too, moronic neanderthals unwilling to accept reality.
  11. As much as I would like to see Holt out the door with the majority of the players I just can't see it happening, they have nailed their flag to the mast with him and can't see the BOD going full circle. There has to be a redefining of his role though, he has obviously been involved in the first team training/tactics since he came in and in my mind that's not a job of a a DoF. He should be scouting, setting up this new youth system and idefiting players to pass on to the management team - who should absolutely have the final say on signings. It severely worries me that he is deciding on the new manager, by biggest fear is that he picks a yes man and proceeds to micromanage him from the stands. The BOD need a clearout aswell - how many are actually on it now? must be close to double figures with the Rawlins both on it now, it seems a ridiculous number of people. We need some fan involvement in there too - the BtB bid that was turned down in favour of MC a couple of years ago seems even more ridiculous with every passing season, hopefully there is a way the guys who were involved in that can get round the table with Rawlins and work something out.

  12. Just seen an email received by my son, who has bought shares, from Gordon Wright of FFC,that the MSG now hold 37%, Fans 37% and I presume the Rawlins are on 26%.
Apparently, they had interest in buying shares from about 60 individuals.
60 is an incredibly low number, the share issue was set up in an awful way IMO. They priced out fans who wanted to put a couple hundred pounds in by setting the min amount at 400 and were also turning away people who wanted to make a more substantial purchase.

Surely there's an actual manager out of work that we could draft in for 4 games to boot f**k out of the squad.

exactly, get an out of work manager and tell them if they somehow manage to get us up thru the playoffs they will get a contract for next season, will be plenty that would jump at that chance.
