Anyone at the draw tonight to hear the Q&A?

Was that ecome w@nker not there? Well I was, those that were will have heard some very good answers to questions I asked the gaffer. Not only that but put my cash where my mouth is although I stopped from bidding anymore than £1k for a bottle of whiskey. I can see Ayr United being owned by the majority of people there last night with someone like Mark Pettigrew controlling the day to day business accumin. Be funny to see the questions on Au media but that chicken pakora was immense.

  2. On another note re a post made a week ago, Conway will play for Ayr again one day, he told me he’s got unfinished business. However he said he’s got 2 more years EFL championship/League 1 left in him. Then maybe.....

Notice of intent by Dundee Utd tho offering him terms, a lot more than Shankland is getting.....about 3x more and he laughed at it. They are out to win the league and chucking money at it.

  3. Ffs some people get completely carried away and end up branded “happy clappers”.

We won 7-0 against a team freefalling from League football. Some of these pish posts and you think we’d just beat Juventus!

Plus ‘happy clappers’ we got our arses handed to us by a Junior outfit with ex Ayr players last season.....remember that?

I’ll bite your hand off for 8th just now and anything else is a bonus..

Moffat’s father in law having a go at the board on the Somerset road end.

Used to be able to read the dross posted on that ‘clusterfuck’ page without joining.  So glad I can’t now, as would wind up the sanest of Ayr fans with the typed diarrhoea posted on it.

Could be worse, could be his Mrs lol

    Craig Conway leaving Blachburn

He has an option of another year but thinking about hanging up his boots, said he’ll make a decision once he’s back from holiday. My other cousin has just got engaged to Grant Hanley.......if only I could persuade them to play in the black and white.....not Newcastle lol.

  6. I had a strange feeling about yesterday. Even said to a mate that something didn’t feel right and something bad was going to happen. Seems to be the Ayr United way of giving us a wee bit of glory to keep us happy, just before a massive clusterfuck shitfest. Either that or some fans get carried away happy clapping with the ‘billy big baws’ mentality pretending all is well and we’re going to win the league. The league is priority, we’ve overachieved our goal, we’ve had some good times and been thoroughly entertained. But how on earth can you not focus on getting beat by a junior team in the Scottish cup? Would we not have got extra monies in the next round....maybe enough to bolster the squad with a new face?

Probably Rabbies for me and also a pint of 70 bob I think or maybe Tartan.

I used to have this strange idea that you wouldn't get asked for ID if drinking heavy but Lager would be a dead giveaway of being under age.

Anyway, I managed to get hold of a decent Barr Thompson fake ID that worked most places, if I remember right I think I was supposed to be a carpet fitter..........

Probably get shot down in flames for this but you could have good night in Rabbie’s. However, some of the female clientele at times you could have caught Rabies or worse.

    Back to fitba.

One thing about our team just now is we have a good nucleus, young inspiring players, surrounded by good experienced professionals and a red hot talisman. If and only if Shankland was to go for a few hundred grand, I as a supporter would like to see current players signed for next season. We’re almost guaranteed championship football next season and maybe even one step further. It’s imperative to keep the stay away fans back putting money through the turnstile and that will show intent and establishment.

Do I think Shankland will go? No. Why? He’s paying us back for showing faith in him. Would he have been this great if we’d have got him on loan last time we were in this league? Who knows?

Sometimes some Ayr fans need a reality check. We are 2nd in the league with a game on hand. Granted there are a few bumps but I’d rather be sitting here as an Ayr supporter than on an away day to Forfar staring into the abyss that is league 2......remember that????

Sadly the one who did it passed away the other culprit is known to me by the name Dad. In a time where you could drink at the fitba. Bit more fisty cuffs back in those days. Wonder if Duncan would ever share the truth about the infamous Ayr away day to Swindon. Think two Ayr fans got done for armed robbery.
Mind you the story about the ‘hold up’ in the Howard arms is better, like something out a western film.
Anyway happy new year honest men and bonnie lassies. Fingers crossed in August our fixtures and away days are hopefully a bit different. We should all be ecstatic where we are just now.......Ooft a league derby with ‘them’ would be a riot.

What did happen in the Howard Arms? Heard Ayr fans trashed it and stole the vhs CCTV video footage. Was passed around Ayr fans for months after. Early 80s I think.

Think you’re right mate, very early 80’s. Think there was some kind of ‘Mexican stand off’ after one the buses got bricked and either they looted a puggy, stole it or smashed it and looted it.

Im not condoning it by mentioning it but there’s a few more stories better than just pulling a killie player over the wall from that era.

    It's clear what I meant.

Anyone who accepts Aitchison as a replacement for Shankland is a moron.

There's absolutely no chance that transfer is happening.

Who knows what will happen tbh. Scottish football is a strange culture.

It would be a strange thing to happen imho and very unlikely.

However, Ayr United are more than one player, ultimately the aim is to put the ball in the net but that’s not an individual effort.

Really enjoyed that Duncan Carmichael AU fan podcast. The story about the killie player getting pulled over the wall was top notch, imagine that happened now? emoji23.png

I might be throwing the ambitions of Ayr united a bit far here, considering the way in which he left, though Craig Conway is coming 34 soon and would be looking to wind down his career nearer to his family in Ayrshire.

Might be a good idea to try and get a hold of his services in either January or once Ayr are promoted (it's happening!) he suits the right winger role. Of course, a younger player would be preferred imho. Though Conway has still got a few years left.

It is a pipe dream but absolutely  no chance just now. I know as he’s married to my cousin. He did say he’d finish at Ayr but not for a few years.....especially not whilst earning over £8k a week.

  12. I’m really starting to get sick fed up with elements of our support. I honestly think as an ‘honest man’ some just go to Somerset to f#cking moan for the sake of moaning. Before kick off I’d have bitten your hand off for a draw. 3-1 up at half time and I was ecstatic. We are top of the league and playing like heavyweight champions, any league position outwith the relegation zone is an achievement....but we are top of the league! I’ve always been of the opinion that if you pay to go then it’s your perogative to say, shout, sing what you want within legal boundaries. Now I think “ where the f@ck were you when we played Forfar away and staring into the abyss of fourth tier Scottish football”?

Sorry for the rant but some need a reality check!

  13. Watching that last night albeit on TV was just beautiful. Makes all those shitty trips to places like cowdungbeath on a freezing Wednesday night worth it. In 30 odd years supporting Ayr I’ve never been this happy. What makes it even better is the actual team are such a well gelled unit that love playing together. A goal is scored and they all celebrate. It’s like getting up in the morning and being happy that you’re going to work.

Special shout out to MCCall. There have been frustrations from many including myself in the past, however..... he’s turned us into a professional outfit that has surpassed our expectations already this season. Long let it continue.

  14. Reports from Police Scotland and Sky news that a ‘black panther’ has been sighted round the outlying villages of Ayr. Apparently been drafted in to destroy a large squirrel infestation lol.

Know it’s not football related but only in Scotland can a comment under “Black Panther sighting in Scotland” read.....

”Dae they no ken it’s oan Sky Movies, they Marvel films get everywhere”.

The time he came on as a sub to a chorus of boos and shouts of "dirty Killie b*****d" shortly after joining when we were 0-2 down to Airdrie and then quickly scored a double to tie the game up.

Oh how fickle Ayr fans can be. Played more games for Ayr and scored more goals for us than he did for the unmighty unwashed.

  16. Roberts is definitely one of my favourite Ayr players of all time, that goal against hibs, jumping on the wall in front of the SRE.

However, as a manager.......holy batshit Batman. Touting Marenghi as one of the top talents in Scottish football and giving him a two year deal still baffles belief. Nice bloke but shouldn’t have jumped into the Ayr hot seat without an experienced no.2. Good luck to him anyway.
