THIS. If anyone from Ayr is reading pie and bovril (we know you are) this ^ is the post you need to read.

There is no doubt he needs a experience coach/assistant it's easy to forget that just because he's in his 50s this is his first gig as a manager if he was 37 at the end of his playing career no way would he not have an assistant.

James McCarthy maybe isn’t such a ridiculous shout as Mathie also said that they were looking at experienced players who aren’t playing with their current clubs

Your right he's based in Glasgow so travel is not that bad, he's made his money in the game so I doubt wages would be massive and he's likely knows McGeady and think of how much Smith, Pendlebury and Dempsey would learn just training with him, we coukd be putting 2 + 2 and coming up with 5 though

  3. Hopefully Paddy continues his current form I don't think it's any coincidence that he's not having to do both the attacking and defensive work on the left since we have upgraded the wingers he can concentrateon the defensive part of the game. Let's just hope we can pull an experienced CDM out of the hat because both Smith and Pendlebury are really young and are going to need that experienced head to help them out.

IMO, we just need to sign the correct central midfielder which allows us to control the game better, getting our three in behind in a 4-2-3-1 (when everyone is fit) high up the park, which ensures the striker isn’t isolated.

We have never really replaced Mark Kerr, granted that kind of player does not grow on trees, but if we had a midfielder that just controls that middle of the park and does the simple things would make so much difference.

So you’re happy for Ayr to go for another hundred years winning less than Stranraer and Stenhousemuir? If you are I believe there’s a place for you near the Ayr hospital…

I'm happy to support the team I have loved since I was a boy wither they win a trophy or not, I realised many years ago if I wanted to support ayr there was going to be more downs than ups.

Chalmers, Dundee United will be trying to sell him first. Then loan him so if we aren't buying, that will be done on the last day and even then he'll have options.

Strapp will be holding out for a better move, he doesn't need to sign for anyone during the window.

Anyone else will be loans and they won't be done until other clubs
