  1. Nice to find out at 2:50 that there are other games on today
  2. So which club is going to come in for Scougall? We've made him available, good work, but by all accounts he's on an astronomical wage given his ability and it would appear he's actually a bit bollocks. Great work Tommy. PR masterclass. Never mind, we've got an interview with Dino this week which we can pay a fiver for.
  3. I'd rather it was a video personally but this filled a minute during my break. The courier prints articles like this regularly, except this time I was on the saints website reading saints content instead of finding it elsewhere so it's done its job.
  4. It's a basic piece promoting the next home game and trying to build up interest during an international break. Criticising that is rather OTT. Nothing wrong with it.
  5. You seem to know many details about the poor lad's daily life and workload. How would you feel if you spent 9 hours a day slogging away at things, getting almost no support from the club, only to look out your office window for a quiet moment of reflection and see RandomGuy there with a pair of binoculars taking notes
  6. Interesting. I can see Liam being there next season no problems at all. Think it was one year too much for Chris. Notice injuries etc now catching up with him at Morton this season and his appearances have been limited. Don't think he would have been here past this contact had he not adapted his play this season imo. But it's starting to work so I'm not complaining. He's stepping up to replace some of the big characters that we've lost but he's 31 so it's not a long term solution, we'll be on the hunt for another deep central mid in one of the next two windows.
  7. I dont think we'll see Craig in that position next year if he's still here, but in the short term he's doing better than other experiments. I think we could have got another season out of midge, even in a bit part role to transitional a replacement in. There's still nobody in the squad who can anchor the middle as comfortably as him.
  8. Answer questions before they are asked and it won't escalate to the point of being hounded.
  9. Agree mostly tam, we're probably all on the same page about the quality being pish. Point was that media staff at other teams all have their own accounts to engage with plebs like us and update on projects or day to day things. Ross did and beve does. It's low effort high impact and builds the idea of transparency. Gary H is getting pelters now because the output is dross but he's not really helping himself because nobody knows what he's doing. The lad could be out visiting schools 24/7 or leading projects that bring in thousands through commercial deals, he could be a massive asset, but we don't find out and because there's no improvement in the media we assume he's done bugger all and questions get asked like they are now.
  10. Is big Gary on twitter? Missed opportunity if he isn't. Best way to shut up the h8rz is to show them all the work you're doing.
  11. Investment is important but so is using time and the current resources wisely. How many hours do you think were wasted producing and relaunching a magazine that nobody needed in their lives, only to then go and limit its circulation even more by slapping a £5 price tag on it, when that time could easily have been spent on getting the basics right and making small improvements that will have a much higher impact.
  12. They just don't reach out enough to ask. Picking super fans for focus groups or setting up supporters forums will get you so far, because of course you have to keep the regulars happy, but they're not the ones the club really need to focus on. Time should be spent finding out how to turn Mr 5-games-a-season into Mr 8-games-a-season and finding out why lapsed fans just don't bother turning up at all anymore. They won't find those answers by asking around the stadium, they need to open up all channels and be prepared to search for the constructive answers in amongst the "buy some decent playurz" stuff that will predictably come from the banter brigade.
  13. The club should be surveying fans every year during the close season and questions like this should be part of it.
  14. Special mention to the time we qualified for europe in 2012 or 2013 and he spent his radio interview complaining about how much it cost to charter a flight.
  15. If wright has has milked all of these signings as part of his contract negotiations then he is one hell of a guy. Stevie's been bent over all summer long.
  16. Had no intention of criticising any recent progress specifically, just questioned whether he could truly be classed as a "successful" youth product given the failure to establish himself after a number of attempts and opportunities (debut almost exactly five years ago), or whether the poor standard of our previous youth products and perhaps a slight case of blue-tinted specs had skewed opinion.
  17. Yet with all those appearances he hasn't been able to convince that he has the ability to be anything more than a third or fourth choice. It really depends on what we class as a "success" from the youth ranks. For so many years we had dud after dud coming off the production line, so does the emergence of an average-at-best squad player who will score a couple a season all of a sudden become something to celebrate? If he had been a signing brought into the club, he would have been written off a long time ago. Especially when you look at more recent products like Kerr and Gordon who are making the step up look relatively easy by comparison. No h8 intended Mr Bonk, but I just don't see the spark in Kane that others appear to. For all the time and effort and loan moves that are being used to develop him, it seems this is as far as he will go. I think he'll drop down to the championship at the end of this contract.
  18. I'd love for you to be right my man but I just can't see it happening. He may have more ability than Thomson, Caddis and Brown did, but in the context of his squad role he is basically in the same position. It's also becoming clearer than Tommy doesn't see him as anything more than a third or fourth choice striking option. He seems to have hit his ceiling. It will be interesting to see where Kane stands if Hendry continues his confident start but no loan materialises for him.
  19. Thomson, Brown and Caddis all showed promise but ended up as nothing more than cheap squad fodder. We will never sell Kane for a profit and he's never going to push his way to the front of the striker queue, so when all is said and done he's just going to fall into the same category. Granted, that goal up in Aberdeen was a beautiful moment. It's a shame he couldn't build on that and push on more.
  20. Kane is far from a 'successful youth player'. Will be kept on the books for too long before pinballing his way down the leagues like so many others before him.
  21. Look at how good our window has been when the safety options of Swanson and MOH were pulled away from Tommy. Young, exciting, unpredictable signings that are showing their worth already. Spending half a season getting Danny back to full fitness while on a hefty wage will not do us any good this time around. Scougall has not lived up to the hype - far from it - but he's also mostly been played out of position in a system that doesn't work for him. He really needs to step it up when given the opportunity this season, but he can't be entirely to blame for the lack of success so far.
