  1. That is the stupidest fucking tackle I've seen in years. Ross Millen is incredibly fortunate that we literally don't have another right back, because he's an absolute liability. Absolutely horrendous defending. I wouldn't forgive that kind of decision making in one of the kids who's only played ten games, let alone one or the "senior" players.

I simply cannot get over just how awful a player Millen is. All those who warned us were far from wrong.
  2. Good luck to Dario, liked the guy, on his day is a game winner. Without his goals at the start of the season last year we don’t know where we’d be and I’ll choose to remember him as that first half season Dario. Just simply did not have enough of a fight about him, getting a fee from him after the latter part of last season and what he’s shown this season is is a good bit of business which should help with bringing in a striker. Can see this being a good turning point in his career and wouldn’t be surprised if he now starts to show a bit of gut in games now. I’m sure Craiguss is enjoying his Wednesday so far.

  3. Boy in front of me yesterday was shouting abuse at Dario Zanatta while he warmed up on the sidelines, while we were 2-0 up. Real weird behaviour*
*Unless it was the real Dario Zanatta that’s had the terrible patter on here recently, in which case he deserved it.

I don’t even think we can blame Craiguss for this one as I’m sure he was about 5 seats away from me.
  4. You honestly think that was playing "reasonably well"?
It was a passable second half but that's it. I presume you didn't hear the boos at half time?

Is there ever a time you can just be happy we’ve won? We played a decent game, lots of positives to take from it. All you’ve posted is negative crap since the final whistle.
  5. Thought quitongo was lucky to not already have a booking by the time he did get one. Game couldn't really get going in to anything other than a battle in the first half due to morton just fouling anything they could get near. Once we got the goals they weren't as bad for it. How is Alan lithgow a professional footballer? The rising electric costs at caipelow must be down to him having the microwave on all the time.

We weren't great again but there was alot more dig and I thought o'riordan again looked very good. Silly booking to get but he is only 18 so will learn. Nolan again looking a bit better again also. Millen is pretty hopeless and got lucky with a short backpass in the second half as macdonald kicked it off macdonald and out for a goal kick. I'm not gullans biggest fan but he puts in a power of running and it must be brutal for him having to try and create anything for himself when he does actually get it into feet. Stanton looked a much better player in the second half getting himself stuck in to absolutely everything. More of that please. Overall we deserved the win but we do have alot of areas we can improve on.

Seemed like Stanton remembered he can go forward that second half and played a very good 45. I thought gullan was good today, put a hefty shift in, held the ball up for the first and played it very well for the second. Millen I do not rate still. Dick was a pleasant surprise that he’s played a very good game. CBs looked solid. Quitongo I’m sure spent more time having a hissy fit than he did touching the ball. Overall, a good result.

  7. Disagree with the bits about Gullan, Ross and Easton.
The first two were hopeless again and while Easton looks clever with his turns and flicks it's all utterly pointless when it's done in our own half.
Brown was also poor in midfield and its not hard to see why him and Easton have been stuck in the lower leagues for years.

No sure whether you’ve watched the same game bud, plenty of play from Easton closer to their box. Anyone else I’ve spoken with has said the exact same thing. Gullan is a good player, got right stuck in and played well today, but again no one to play off him. Ross, didn’t do a hell of a lot wrong, had the ball going forward.
  8. Yes it’s a disappointing result. Getting sick of being negative on here so taking some positives from this. Two centre backs looked comfortable, a few miscommunications which I’m sure will iron themselves out the more they all play together.

The goal? I’m sure there was about 4 of them huddled round the player that scored?

Dick and Millen I simply cannot get on board with. Millen too many times caught out of position and dick just no better. Ngwenya I was confused to see go off instead of dick? Surely with how brutal dick had been you pull ngwenya back instead.

Stanton looked really far off it. Not going into it too much but I really was not impressed. Connolly as per put everything into the game and is they type of players all others should be looking at and following. Ross looked good as well and put a shift in. Easton changed the game, had the freedom to play a bit further forward and seemed to be taking the piss out of the Dundee players with his turns etc.

Gullan isn’t a number 9. There is no doubt however he had a good game, seemed to win everything in the air, generally good play. He doesn’t work as a single striker, we need someone to be able to play off him and score the goals required.

Wont comment on other subs as there wasn’t too much time for them to play however I do like that he has sacrificed defenders with them minutes to go to attack.

At the end of the day, 2 games in. Yes it doesn’t look promising but with an experienced striker and some more time to gel, I’m certain there’s a team in it. Would like to see some more of Murray’s outwork every team idea though.

  9. You can tell when someone is lucky enough not to have experienced a significant ligament injury. I've torn my ACL and even after surgery the ligament can never be as strong as before. Obviously professional athletes will do an incredible amount of strength and conditioning to every other muscle to compensate, but the ligament itself will always have a weakness.

The common procedure is to remove a string from your hamstring in order to graft the torn parts of the ACL together. So that presents another issue. God knows what they have had to do to someone like Vaughan who has had multiple operations. Can't keep doing that.

There is also the factor of muscle wastage from inactivity, which results in lots of wee niggles that slow down the process. The idea that you can avoid doing your ACL again by doing less football-like training is a fantasy; you need to be doing all the in-match actions in order to get back that level of muscular strength for a professional playing comeback.

I really hope that Vaughan can get to a point where he can continue to play (at any level) without a reoccurrence, I thought he would pack it in after the last one. Great determination on his part.

So to my knowledge there is another option for acl reconstruction. You mentioned usage of part of hamstring from patient however you also have the ability for use do a donor graft. This is a more expensive option when going private however is more successful in preventing another tear. It is also the recommended method due to using part of hamstring having the possibility of reducing speed etc. I would expect that the most recent surgery would have been this.
  10. Isn’t the reason he’s out to get that injury fixed properly this time?  I say properly, by all accounts it just got left previously for him to play through the pain.

From the game Mathews co-commentated (I want to say stirling game) he did mention when asked about the injury that the op was something that the specialist is expecting to clear the issue overall. Let’s just hope I suppose.
