  1. Info on this game seems somewhat sparse. I'm considering making a late dash through for it. I take it I can buy tickets at the stadium? If I'm a little late (every possibilty) can I buy tickets after kick off?

Any tips on where to park?

I see Belgium have the group pretty much won already, but does finishing second get us anything in terms of qualification?

Fair play to Utd. That 2nd half it was obvious within a minute or so that they were after us. I don't honestly think I've seen a team ragdoll us so mercilessly as they did in that 2nd 45 yesterday. Whatever Courts said at half time and whatever Robinson said clearly had polar opposite effects as we looked like we'd totally shat ourselves and Utd knew it.

The second half was the best United had played in months. Not sure if the players abandoned Courts' tactics or if Courts abandoned Courts'tactics. There was a huge emphasis on just getting the ball forward. Something we'd been crying out for for ages.

    Russias terms, according to Peshkov

    - Recognition of Crimea as Russian

    - Recognition of LPR and DPR as independent states

    - Constitutional neutrality for Ukraine.

Obviously they decided to do without deNazification and demilitarisation m, happy to have drug addicts and neo-Nazis in charge in Kyiv.

Ukrainian side have said that they are open to discussions on neutrality. There isn’t anything that will change Crimeas status now.

The foreign ministers of Russia and Ukraine are going to meet in Turkey in three days for talks.

Sounds preferrable to Nuclear War to me

DW reporting that US trying to formulate a plan to supply 'aircraft' to Ukraine via. Poland.
    Ratcheting up.......

Seen that. Has a very ' here we go...' feel about it. Also this would Poland doing this "as a sovereign nation" and not NATO - aye right.

The conflict can't be allowed to suck other nations in, but this is the beginning of just that.

Penicuik Athletic 1-2 Blackburn United. Bad loss for Penicuik but still have a game in hand on Linlithgow. For Blackburn a big win that leaves them 1 point away from getting out of relegation places. 251 in attendance.

    Football is a strange game.

I was at the reverse fixture just last week which Penicuik dominated throughout. Hard to believe they'd then lose to Blackburn just seven days later

At some point there must be a red line for NATO, EU and UN, if there continues to be disregard for civilian lives, flattening of residential areas and schools etc? Obviously the risk and consequences of accelerating WW3 are unthinkable but we can’t sit back until Ukraine is literally a scorched wasteland of dead bodies.

You’ ve got to hope there is a powerful enough body of dissent within the Kremlin that either gets Putin to reign in his war or else move him out, with or without his consent.

Disagree. If today's nuclear weapons had been around at the time of WW1 and WW2 you can be sure they'd have been used.

Be under no illusions, WW3 is a nuclear war and has to be avoided at all costs. The reality of the situation is, and unpallatable though it is, Ukraine is one of those costs.

However news channels are clearly on the cusp of ratcheting up pressure on the politicians who will no doubt eventually give in

Mental The Wedding Present should get a mention on this thread, but with good reasons.

They re-released (or something akin to that) the John Peel Sessions today with 100% of profits going to a Ukrainian aid fund. All sold out straight away, but they are looking to re-stock ASAP

"Russia will close its airspace to Romanian airliners “due to unfriendly decisions by Romanian aviation authorities”, Russian federal aviation agency Rosaviatsiya said on Saturday. Romania earlier banned Russian airlines from its airspace.

Meanwhile, Lithuania will also close its airspace to Russian airlines at 10pm GMT on Saturday due to the invasion, the government said, blocking access from Russia’s Kaliningrad enclave to Ukraine."

    Kaliningrad completey cut off then?

  9. Fair amount of commotion about the Russian figure skating girl. Rightly so too it would seem.

But I must say, and this as someone who couldn't give a toss about the 'sport'; her routine, allied with some incredibly haunting music (In Memoriam by Kirill Richter I've subsequently found it) was really quite mesmerising.
