  1. A frustrating result in the end. After a rusty start to the game once we scored from that period until the sending off we should have been out of sight. A legitimate goal ruled out for offside, two off the post and one off the line. Played some lovely stuff in that period and there was only going to be one winner with a full compliment of players. The sending off should have been a booking and that changes how we have to approach the rest of the game. The striker was not in control of the ball and the ball was going to our keeper so in no shape or form can that be a red card. I think we will appeal and get that rescinded. The referee looked shaky throughout but as we all know that is nothing new at this level. Our set up was good in the second half and was similar to Spartans away when we had to play with a reduced number for a long period of time. Concede the wide areas and drop Aitken into midfield to block off the gaps centrally. It worked well and Jamieson never had a save to make whilst we had a few half chances on the break ourselves. Elgin created nothing of note - a fortunate break of the ball in the box and a decent finish from the boy. Nothing you can really do about that but a sickener all the same. Some effort from the boys though. That's a long old treck midweek having not played for 20 odd days or whatever it was. The energy levels were superb and every player left it out on the pitch which is all we can really ask for. We take the positives and move on. Squad looking strong now and if we can keep pace with Peterhead until Taylor gets back we can hopefully go on a decent run again in the winter months.
  2. My apologies was only skim reading. Jack Ross being mentioned is as wild as Scott Brown though.
  3. No. He's a personal trainer based in Dunblane. You're thinking of Eddie Howe.
  4. Jim McIntyre is a done deal. I'd imagine announcement imminent with him being unattached.
  5. Scott Brown. Come on now let's live in the real world. McInally would be the best shout from those mentioned.
  6. I'm aware where he is but I would think he's back there with the understanding they won't stand in his way if a league club come calling again. Just a gut feeling.
  7. Taylor oot his skull again on Twitter giving Catterall a bit. I'm still a big fan of him as a boxer but he continues to across as an absolute balloon. Pretty sure this fight will happen next at a catch weight. Makes logical sense with Haney/Prograis winner likely to fight Ryan Garcia afterwards.
  8. Stranraer are showing Shire-esque numbers since we destroyed them at Ochilview. 5 defeats on the spin and 18 goals conceded in that time is sore reading for the Blues. Christ even Forfar beat them which is even more alarming.
  9. Good player. Different to what we have and can play centrally or from the right. Obviously coming back from an ACL I wouldn't be expecting too much but he should be a handy player to have around until January if he is anything like the player at Edinburgh. The squad now sitting at a number we can all be happy with.
  10. Lads I am expecting a flurry of #FazOut declarations on the back of that bloody defeat. Get them in early with purpose.
  11. Makes sense to get this done early. Why the same didn't happen for Elgin the other week instead of the team bus leaving on the Saturday is still beyond me.
  12. Bonnyrigg 2-0 Clyde East Fife 3-1 Stranraer Elgin 1-3 Forfar Stenhousemuir 2-1 Peterhead The Spartans 1-1 Dumbarton
  13. I haven't been active on the interweb this week lads. Just checking everyone made their declaration of FAZ OUT after that sexy and devastating display away to the Travelling Nomads...
  14. Credit to my Dumbarton foot soldiers for having our back during this most unsavoury time. I can completely understand Elgin not wanting the game tomorrow as they will get pumped due to the injury list but it's also quite embarrassing. Just shows a complete lack of belief in the squad they do have remaining and ultimately that comes down to another summer of horrible recruitment. The real blame lies with the SPFL - Elgin should not even have a say in it when there is an available Saturday for both teams. It's really that simple. 1993 with a few batey quips I noticed is merely making himself look a little silly. He will regret the time he bated with the quality of poster in the league two forum when he is back to the dregs of the Highland League next season, where the very few yokels with access to the internet actually type with their feet while howling like wolves towards their device. I work shifts so I could actually make this. I am contemplating a Tuesday stop over - again confirming my status as the MVP among our pathetic little fanbase.
  15. Danny Jardine. Been training for a while. Good player who was at Edinburgh with Gary. Assuming we don't have money left or are raking the sweetie jar for a deal.
  16. Could the game be in doubt for Saturday? Looks like it's going to batter down from Friday evening onwards. It would be appreciated if this mob could let us know the game is off before Pitlochry this time.
  17. I seen the brief highlights on the SPFL Youtube from last week of the Peterhead/Elgin game and we must be licking our lips at how poorly Elgin were defending set plays. It was diabolical stuff. We have scored in our last four games from set plays and I would fancy us to score from that avenue again here. It certainly looks a huge weakness that we can exploit with the delivery of Adam Brown and the willing napper of Bucky. I would agree with Telfer's lineup with Bilham back in for Lynch. Three points up north will leave us feeling warm and fuzzy inside from a decent first quarter.
  18. 4-2 bruv. The delirium of Faz Baw winning can hit hard.
  19. I respect that mate. Fair play to the soldiers who have come out since my earlier post. A weekly declaration would be appreciated moving forward whether you win, lose or draw. Let's be consistent.
  20. Bonnyrigg 1-1 East Fife Clyde 2-0 Dumbarton Elgin 0-2 Stenhousemuir Forfar 1-1 Peterhead Stranraer 0-2 Spartans
  21. I respect that mate. At least you aren't in hiding like the rest. The rest who will be here demanding he goes after the next defeat.
  22. Silence from the lads after a win. Do you want him out or not? Do you just change your mind like the wind week to week based on one result? Be consistent.
  23. Obviously two points dropped but I find it difficult to be overly harsh on the boys. We have had basically three outfield subs the whole season and as a collective they have only let us down in a 20 minute spell against Dumbarton and for the last half an hour today. That ain't bad going for a part time side. We were excellent in the first half and should have been a few up. Passed the ball about well with pace and purpose. Looked like we had killed the game when Yates scored but then proceeded to not kick a ball for the remainder of the game. Alex King turned it on in that last period and ran the game. We have to be honest in the end Clyde had chances to win it and somehow Rennie missed from two yards. Good signs for Clyde though they battled hard and never threw in the towel - certainly a performance in the latter part of the game their support deserved who were really behind them throughout. We go to Elgin next week. Win and worse case scenario we are a point behind the leaders after the first quarter and of course could go top if Peterhead drop something. We would all have taken that for sure at the start of the season. We need to stay on amongst it until Taylor is back but as Nigel says I also fear the small squad could end up killing us eventually.
