One thing I was surprised with on Saturday is the pitch. While partaking in the pitch invasion, or in my case a slow limp with a walking stick, I walked on the hallowed pitch for the first time. It was nothing like what I had been expecting. I can't believe how deep and spongy it is. It didn't feel at all like walking on grass. Not saying it's good or bad, just that I was taken aback. It must be very tiring to running around on it for 90 minutes. So I have an even greater respect for the guys. No wonder we pass it around so much.

My opinion of MacIver certainly did improve. I can see his value a bit more. Still can't help thinking if we kept Burrell how many more goals we would have scored. There is a reason the other players who voted for team of the year didn't put him in the team, and I would suggest they might know more than we do? Could be wrong though.

Luckily I was "abroad" so got to stream the game. Fairly limped over the finishing line there. It was never going to be easy today but I was looking for more of an "up and at 'em" display. On the bright side, the way the last part of the game went made sure there's no need to take my laxative tonight.
I think it was a mistake to take Morrison and Nesbitt off. Especially Nizzy.
The players must all be really tired by now, just wanting it over. I hope they are raring to go next week and put on a show worthy of the monumental effort they have put in this season.

I think the "once in a lifetime achievement" claim is an understatement. I am in my 60's. My dad was at the 57 cup final. His dad supported Falkirk from about 1910. I don't know if his dad supported Falkirk, but if he did he was just about old enough to be around at the formation of the club in 1876.
None of them saw an invincible Falkirk team. That's a once in a four lifetime event for me (if we manage to get over the line, nothing for granted). And of course for the overwhelming number of supporters everywhere, they have never experienced it and never will.

don't let it end like this, a sending off and an own goal. You couldn't make it up. Settle for a draw in a heart beat. Come on Falkirk.

I know MacIver has become poplular and has scored a good few important goals, but I am still in two minds about him. He certainly has a great ability to tap in a goal from a a few inches, that is for certain. A goal is a goal so I'm not being sarcastic, evey one counts. I see him as a good sub, not as our central striker.
If I am on the fence about MacIver, then my brother certainly isn't. He has seen him play about 6 times this season and he is fairly scathing about him. He doesn't see a footballer there - no dribbling and swerving as you would expect from a striker, no great ball control, no rushing past defenders. He just sees a slightly akward, not very athletic guy. I don't know what Ross has done to him, but I don't agree with my brother.
But it is interesting how someone with no horse in the race can see that.-30 -

must be great for the Ultras to see the players singing their songs with such feeling. Well done to the young Ultras who have changed the atmosphere at the stadium this season. Brilliant

Yesterday was absolutely ridiculous. It's like it was a dream. To see our team run away with the league, flatten a team that isn't that bad and still be unbeaten and the post game celebrations is truely the things dreams are made of.
I have endured the ups and downs of being a Bairn since my first game around 1970, some for even longer. We've witnessed great days and the worst. If we do finish the season unbeaten I feel this is the best season in my lifetime. Such a vibe going on around the club, it's wonderful.3 -

This guy, the Alba football presenter was at the Edinburgh game. He was standing pitch side of the advertising hoarding in front of the KM stand on the right, wearing a press bib for some of the second half.
Makes me think the camera on the scaffolding was Alba.

I think it's safe to say that if money were the sole priority, he would either have joined Linfield or waited until the summer before deciding his future. As there will be other clubs who can pay him far more than we do.
He completely threw that idea out the window by committing to Falkirk. He wants to stay here for a while longer. He's already spoken publicly about his admiration for McGlynn. He comes from the area and has a young family who're settled here. He's adored by our fanbase. He's now signed three deals with Falkirk, each of which would undoubtedly see his salary rise to the point where he's probably out top earner.
All that combined may be more than enough for him to want to stay with us for the full length of his contract, regardless of who comes knocking and what they offer.
Sometimes, job satisfaction and a happy working environment are more important than money.
I hope you are right and I would be delighted to be wrong. Most sensible players would never move to Linfield so I don't think that's a good example. But we'll just have to wait and see. I'm not saying Callumn is only in it for the money, but when it is your only career, he needs to think of his family first. No-one would hold that against him. Let's just wait and see.

Sorry I don't think that's true. It was a good bit of business to get him on a new contract. That opens up the way to get a fair bit for him, it doesn't tie him to the club at all. Players are bought all the time who are on long contracts, it just mean the buying party has to spend more to get him. Respectfully, it's a bit of wishfull thinking to think the best goal scorer in scotland is staying with us. Of course, I will be over the moon if I am wrong.

Dare I mention the elephant in the room? Yes we have Morrison tied up for the next two years, but I think it is highly likely some team or other is going to snatch him from us in the close season. We should get a decent amount for him but I doubt we'll see Callumn in a Falkirk shirt next season. Goals talk. So savour his next few games. He's been brilliant for us. Might be many years until we see his like again.

I'll be in the KM stand on Saturday but my brother has to sit in the main stand as the KM is sold out. Don't like sitting myself, but I will taunt my brother by buying him a packet of Werther's Originals
