  1. I doubt it’s getting discussed publicly but it seems logical.
I assume he would not be allowed to use any information already gathered but whereas up to now it has taken months to gather the necessary dirt a new House investigation would be able to replicate it within weeks.

If there are sealed cases at various jurisdictions his job is almost partially done, he can largely pick up where he left off as he’s been smart enough to charge and report as he goes along incase of such a firing.
  2. I think the key to what happens in the West hinges on Talbot. If they were to move that would likely force the hand of Cumnock and Glenafton. In that case I don't think Troon, Meadow or Hurlford would be far behind. If the West League is run by the Lowland League rather than the SJFA then Bonnyton may be another applicant.

Not really, with the greatest respect not every club really cares. Yes Talbot are a big club but ultimately they aren’t going to be the defining factor for any club outwith the Cumnock area.
  3. Thanks for this. Another question if I may? Each state seems to have two Senators. But from what I saw the coverage kept focusing on just one of them. For example I heard lots of talk about Cruz but no mention of the other Senator for Texas. When does he have to stand for election? Or does Cruz decide, like a "running mate"?

Both elected at different times, Cruz is a presidential mid term candidate the other will be elected at the same time as the presidential elections.
  4. British Airways have completely gone to the dogs.

Agree, they dont even give you a wee tiny can of juice on a flight, now paying for cabin bags, just generally shite. Their new WTP product is pretty good but its only on about 40% of the flights, they just seem to stop upgrading the aircraft. Staff seem to think its your privilege to be served by them and the level of apathy is apparent throughout. The delays they had in that Orlando- Gatwick flight and having kids sleep on airport floors kinda sums up how far they have fallen.
  5. You can believe that, it doesn’t mean it’s going to happen.
If there were violent demonstrations they would be quickly subdued and if a few EDL types or Gammons got hurt it would be their own fault for resorting to violence.
There have been many massive non violent anti Brexit demos so we should not avoid a course of action for the fear of violence from the other side.

Im sorry if i give the impression its something that id have an issue with, i’m all for cancelling brexit, but there will be disorder, on a large scale, i’m fine with that because I have faith that they wont have the wider support for it to go nationwide.
  6. By the size of of the Tommy Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon Robinson marches so far, I'd expect the reaction to be fairly small. Twitter would go mad but most of them don't know how to get on a bus.

Yes but ask yourself this, why they need to march when they are getting everything they want? The UK is a hard right nut jobs wet dream right now, so they don’t have to march.
Stop brexit and they’ll have something to complain and collectively gammon (intended as a verb) about.
  7. There was a good thread previously on airlines. I can’t lie im a bit of a travel geek, love travel blogs and flight reviews.
Airlines i’ve flown in terms of overall satisfaction and experience from best to worst with some of the reasons, please feel free to add/debate/inform others. I’ve only really counted airlines I can remember from my adult years and ones which havent gone bust - so no Air2000 or Monarch reviews. I’m not counting easy jet as i’ve only flown Glas- London and don’t think its enough to go on.

    Best

    1) Southwest - yes its no-frills but its good, excellent staff, 2 free hold bags, free drinks even on short length flights, no real delays, decent planes with comfy seats and arrive at main airports.
Just something nice about the airline.

    2) Virgin atlantic- have flown both premium and economy- transatlantic they are my fave airline to go with, comfy seats, good wifi, good ife, the staff seem to be engaging and helpful unlike BA. meals are ok but not even that great in premium economy, essentially paying for a much comfier seat/leg room and extra bag.

    3) Jet Blue - US budget airline, again similar to Southwest, but slightly more expensive and no free bags, however pleasant staff, newer planes with more upgrade options, maybe one to watch out for.

    4) Aer Lingus- flown economy transatlantic, i like the US customs pre-clear, very good when flying to a busy airport like SFO or Boston where customs can take ages. Older planes and the IFE not the best, pre ordered the upgraded meals they sell- from ireland absolutely delicious - on route back absolutely disgusting. Staff very pleasant. The only draw back being stobart air, the regional flight from dublin to glasgow etc, crew horrifically rude, bumpy flight and cabin was very dirty.

    5) Thomson- limited luggage allowance but comfortable cabin, crew bit indifferent and meals not edible, newer fleet of planes and overall not the worst airline to fly.

    6) Jet 2- flown a couple times Glasgow to Spain- no frills again but very pleasant staff, the meals you can buy on board are actually quite nice and the planes aren’t like the last days of Sodom in the way Thomas Cook flights are.

    7) Thomas Cook- have flown transatlantic with them on a new airbus, nice flight even in economy, staff were ok, meal inedible and had to pay extra for IFE which wasnt really up to much. Have flown to Turkey with them also on a ‘fly the scheme’ type flight which was essentially a drunken barmy in the air with staff who had lost control of the passengers, a fight broke out, not an enjoyable experience.

    8) American airlines- basic dirty planes but staff who were pretty pleasant, connecting flights miles apart and confusing boarding rules.

    9) United - flown internally and transatlantic, very old planes, indifferent staff, inedible meals and expensive luggage prices, they seem to think they are a better airline than they actually are, an air of arrogance about them. Internally on a very small plane from SFO to Burbank was a nice experience however as the flight took us through some beautiful scenery.

    10) Ryanair- shite airline, shite planes, arsehole staff and O’leary is a gobshite.

    11) British Airways- in a way im torn here, i’ve flown BA transatlantic about 10 times and 9 of them were fucking dreadful but flying WTP from London to LAX on the A380 was spectacularly good fun flying. However travelling in a variety of the old WT and WTP from Orlando/Tampa and DC has been a very disappointing experience, meals shite, staff so unhelpful its as if they try and uncomfortable, dated and very dirty cabins, on the whole a really crap experience.

    12) Pegasus- Turkish airline, jesus f**k I genuinely can’t explain how awful flying with them was. I kissed the ground at Glasgow on my return. The plane appeared to date to Wright Brothers times, the staff hid in the front allowing the jakeballs to crack open the duty free, leading to at one point a conga line of methadone addicts dancing down the aisle until they started to argue amongst themselves about who was being too obvious with the Vape pen. I was kindly ‘wet willied’ by one such passenger and fortunately 6 months later it was clear I hadnt contracted any viruses. A truly all round horrific experience.

  8. By that logic, wouldn't the people campaigning for another independence referendum in the near future also be 'disagreeing with democracy'?

Id have been inclined to agree with you had it not been for every single thing promised by the no camp not being delivered. A) The vow- not delivered B) Scotland will ‘lead the uk’- fucking no where near delivered, we maybe lead it on conscious and not being a shower of right wing c***s however C) Vote no to preserve your place in the EU- thats not really working out well now.

Lets face it had the No camp just thrown a few simple things Scotlands way like a brexit deal, meaningful input into foreign policy or some decent kind of Devo -max then they’d have probably put indy to bed for decades, however they have such contempt for Scotland they just don’t even think we are worth the hassle.
  9. Travel can be an issue underneath the HL, especially considering in the more remote areas the road network is not exactly the greatest, and the islands are an issue too obviously. But underneath the LL it can't really be a problem.
On a sidenote, I wouldn't be against a system to subsidise travel for the real outliers, like Orkney if they were to progress into (for example) the Highland League. In some other countries (like France) and sports (like Rugby) this already happens. The same can go for opponents traveling there. Alternatively, subsidies can be provided for outliers to take part in the Scottish Cup to make it truly national so Orkney, Shetland and the Western Isles can provide a team each.

Now it really wouldnt be difficult for the sfa to establish some kind of remote travel fund to allow participation from these clubs, get a deal with an airline for travel every week or buy ferry space for away teams etc, I suppose the only draw back being the potential for teams to travel and the game being put off last minute and return travel to be cancelled due to weather. If it was once/twice a season at most im sure a lot of clubs would be ok with it, but it would need the sfa to shell out financially surely?
  10. The only applications they should be entertaining for the Lowland League vacancy should be from the highest finishing teams - ie the bottom placed Lowland League club, the SoS champions or the 2nd placed team in the EoS (assuming that the EoS team win the play-offs). Maybe the West Junior champions at a push. It would be completely wrong to include anyone else.

Who died and made you the promotion jesus?
  11. If the WoSL doesn't happen in 2019/20, will Clydebank (thereafter) become the 'Kelty of the West' once the redevelopment of Holm Park is completed ?
The recent announcement of pyramid progress, was a step in the right direction, but the devil is in the detail, and it is November tomorrow.

Why would they need to wait for Holm Park to be completed? Grounds are only one part of the licence conditions and with a very successful youth academy they already meet the other criteria, that plus currently sharing at a ground which has hosted licensed clubs before, I’d be disappointed if they werent a LL2 applicant!
  12. Yep surely he qualifies for bereavement leave if his best mate has died?

Maybe not like a full on two week bereavement leave but surely a decent gaffer would be like ‘get yersel up the road mate’? Or at the very least move him away for a few days to a cctv room or something where he’s not having to have that same conversation?
  13. Colleague of mine died on Sunday. No idea of the cause. Went for a nap in the afternoon and never woke up. Only 30. No (known) underlying health conditions. Only been in the (pretty cushty) management job for about four months.

One of the lads in security was really good pals with him, known him since school and was supposed to be meeting him on the Sunday evening and was the one to inform work what happened. Now, usually, I would be upstairs in an office on ma todd but, covering for someone on holiday, I'm at the main entrance for reception/patient affairs/security. So had about two dozen folk come by over the week so far to see him and they're having the same conversation with him each time.

And, I dunno what I'm expecting other folk at work to do, but EVERYONE is asking him how he's doing then having a 10-15 minute chat about how terrible it is and how shocking it is and saying daft phrases like "Oh it goes to show you can go at any time" or "If your number's up your number's up" and security fella's doing a decent job of thanking everyone for their kind words and pretending he's not getting annoyed but it is clearly grating him and he's agitating for them to just f**k off and not remind him that his pal just died.

Folk just care more about appearing to look like they're doing the right thing than actually caring.

Wouldnt it be a good idea to give the boy a few days sick leave or something?
  14. If I last the week without murdering somebody then I'll be doing well.
What is it about folk that they can't follow simple instructions?
Instruction 1: get in touch with compliance team for advice on whether to pat this and do a post payment referral or to hold back payment pending compliance action.
Result- staff member contacts compliance and does no follow up.
Instruction 2: we need to make our mind up if we're paying or waiting for compliance. Can somebody make a decision and deal with it.
Result - staff member does a referral but doesn't pay.
Instruction 3: we're going to do this post payment as we've messed about for too long. Can somebody pay it and do the post payment action.
Result - payment issued but prepayment referral made.
Instruction 4: you've referred this as the wrong compliance action. It's now down to your team to make a decision.
Result - 2 members of staff refusing to make the decision and now moaning.

f**k my life. Do your job or stop taking your wages. I don't get to pick and choose which bits of the job I do so neither should anybody else getting the same wage.

Ive no idea what any of that means, but if that was me instead of delegating 4 times id have made the decision myself and then fired the idiots.
  15. Of course the Dundee clubs should be moved to the north, they are needed to balance up the HL/LL divide, you have the HL with a fraction of the Lowland population with disproportionate access to the pyramid, gotta draw the line somewhere and it’s only right we tell the dundee clubs to sling their hooks.

  16. At the time of writing I hadn't seen any photos and wasn't aware that the helicopter had crashed from a great height. I took the impression it was a minor crash since it was in the car park right outside of the stadium and I presumed the helicopter would also have been parked up adjacent - not flying off from the centre circle. That said, if I was a raging maniac who thought a flaming air disaster was funny, your disapprobation wouldn't change that, so try to assume the best in people.

Oh so you were only laughing because it was just a likely a wee crash despite the earliest reports showing images of a big fireball? Ok I get you, my bad.
