Cheers.
Can see some defensive reinforcements coming in this week, especially with DG likely to be away.

No stream of tomorrow night's game, so it will be a retro radio listen for me.

A few people have said I've been overly negative about this season, and to an extent I have been, but with (some) justifiable reason.
However I am not going to run down a 4-0 victory, even if it was to Arbroath (and I mean no disservice towards them). I didn't fancy that line up but I'm pleased to see Mandron get a goal, like all single digit strikers (and I think that's the level we'll expect from him) confidence is a big thing, you only need to look at Obika.
I'd also be interested to know if we've ever had a player who has come on, for a debut, into a competitive game and scored a brace of goals? I'm sure we've had players do similar in pre-season friendlies, and we've seen players come in and score a goal in their debut, but two of them? From the subs bench? In a competitive game? There will be someone but I can't think of one at the mo.
Not seen the goals yet, I'm sure they will pop up on Twitter or YT at some point.
I still think we are light, though. We need cover for either WB or FB, dependent on how Robinson will set us up this season, as Strain is bound to attract interest and there is a continual fitness worry about Tanser. That said, if he switches to something like a 3-4-3 or 3-5-2, with both wingbacks pushing high, then the cover could come from the midfield. It's risky and a departure from the tightly congested and well ordered counter attacking we did last season. I'm also not changing my mind on Hemming as #1, but I guess it's looking less and less likely we bring in someone else unless it's for cover.
In summary? The win was good, but it was the least we should have expected. Positive about the Israeli lad and always nice to get a win on the board, but we need to make sure we don't think that's the group done and dusted and we'll just kick on from here. We lost to Montrose because we were shit, we can be shit again, no guarantees.
You forgot to mention- Zach Hemming had a decent game. Didn't have much to do, but did it very well.

Wasn’t it strain who played him thro
Think that was the first goal, Jamieson played him in for the 2nd.

It is quite unusual for Robbo to be so open about a player coming in before he's actually signed.
The club is incredibly tight now compared to what it was like over the past ten years when information poured out the place.
I didn't see Mandron mentioned anywhere before he signed for example.
Until the scarf shot nothing is done, but I'd be surprised if Robbo has jumped the gun on this one, still fully expect an announcement. Soon!
How soon is now ?

I'm going for Jim Goodwin at Dundee at the end of August after he replaces Docherty who resigns after acknowledging his woeful interviewee technique.
Jim Goodwin will also pick up the Championship wooden spoon when he gets his jotters at some point between now and Sunday.

I hope not. Too injury prone and well past his best.

They’ve regressed badly since then.
Barely stayed in the Championship last season.
Comfortable 2-0 Saints home win.
Nothing is ever comfortable when supporting the Saints.

Early days i know, but the last 2 performances have been poor. Plenty of the ball in both but no idea what to with it.
Just got to hope the next few signings are going to make the difference, and that Baccus is back soon.

No cutting edge, aimless diagonal balls to McMenamin and poor decision making on the rare occasions we got ourselves into decent positions.
That said, we're probably still the better team(marginally).
1st goal very important.

Got the MOTV stream. Unfortunately it looks like one of those automated jobbies which tries to follow the ball.
Still, should be 10 times better than Morton's.

What would be the point in holding out for a transfer fee that wouldn’t cover the wages we’d need to pay him if he stays?
Its all one to Carson - he still gets paid
Mwanwhile we’re lumbered with a wave that could be freed up to sign someone else!
He was one of our best players last season, has over 400 career appearances, and is an international keeper.
Just because he's supposedly spat the dummy doesn't mean he should dictate what happens next.
Either we get an appropriate fee for him or he does the job he's contracted to do.

I wouldn't be letting TC go for free. He's contracted for another 2 years- if he wants away, then it should only be if someone pays.

And there was me thinking "together as one" referred to the teams and supporters.

I like the away top, a wee bit different.
Will purchase.
