I'd like to think that although most of the new signings will be loans or on one year deals as per Hartleys policy of making players show their worth before getting anything longer, that we will be getting those that do on to long term deals as soon as possible. The likes of robson and Mcghee for instance should not just be being offered another year through their options but should be being offered 2 or 3 year extentions at least.

I dont think standing will make much difference to be honest. Games with decent atmospheres tend to be those with large away supports. These days clubs do very little to encourage travelling supporters and having the likes of brechin, dumbarton, livie and ict in the league certainly doesnt help.

I cant see it . A meaningless game against us when the majority of their side will already be on the beach.

Would it not be better to get a decent side on the park , get promoted and then worry about safe standing. Surely every extra penny we have should be going to the manager.

As i said apart from nelson, jak and robson i wouldnt keep any of them. Recruitment next season needs to be a million miles better than the last few or we'll go nowhere. Why have we got blair, mckee, sibbald and welsh in our squad. All far too similar .

I think we need better than longridge if we're going to win this league. He flatters to deceive too often. Yesterday we had two rbs on the bench and yet he stuck mcghee at rwb. Why he signed welsh and blair is beyond me and taiwo has for some reason been binned when we were crying out for him yesterday. Plus to get rid of miller and hippo to leave us with ohara and harris as our attacking options from the bench is poor. Add to that the fact that loy is being paid a grand to play for the u20s when even off form hes better than those two then surely youve got to raise questions of the manager. Tumilty, welsh and blair have added very little to the side since being signed.

Can he spot a player though? How many of his signings would you keep? Jak, nelson, robson and thats about it. The rest can bolt.

Even with Dumbarton winning theres nae chance we're going down so i think we're guaranteed these games next season.

I doubt they'll be on much and weve already seen the likes of connor mcbride move to celtic without the club putting up much of a fight. I can see the likes of jonny mitchell perhaps staying and getting put out on loan but i reckon most of the others will be away. As ive already said why would the club highlight the cutting of the dev squad and fva as a cost saving to put cash in the first team budget if we're going to replace both with a reserve team. Plus hartley has already stated that next seasons squad would be 20 players max.

We werent putting 200k into the fva. The dev squad was costing us far more and that was with youngsters on peanuts taking up most of the squad.

It'll be arranged bounce games for that and hartley was looking at 18 to 20 max at the agm. Possibly see the likes of mitchell going out on loan too if kept on. Youve got your 11 first team players on a sat plus 7 subs. Thats 18. If youve got a midweek first 11 game none of them will play so u need another 11 plus subs to play in the reserve side. Unless your wanting guys to play in 4 games a week perhaps. What is the point of binning the academy and dev team and replacing them with a reserve side? As far as i know we will not be running a reserve side.

A reserve team full of experienced players would cost us far more than the current development team and totally defeat the purpose of cost cutting that closing the academy is at the forefront of. If we're going with a smaller squad where are we going to find the 30 players wed need to run a first team and reserve team?

Yeah. Wouldve been a reserve team next season anyway but theres no point in having one if the academy isnt there to feed it.

Seems crazy to me that we binned something that was actually making us money.
