Welsh and Irish leagues are complete fucking dung and the only reason they have better national teams than us are because they have a ton of players at a reasonably high level in England plus generally better management until recently.
I don't think losing millions of pounds in TV money is going to make Scottish football any better to watch, especially when it bankrupts 80% of the clubs.
The quality was pretty good in the 70s and 80s before this Sky pish.
As for bankruptcy, ach well, too many clubs in Scotland anyway.

A tad off topic but in my humble opinion, this would be a good time for Scottish football to get back to the good old days. F uck Sky, f uck BT, f uck all TV companies. Get back to living within our means,no debt, Saturday 3pm kick offs with the very odd game being covered by BBC Scotland. Detest how the game has changed over the years. No one can ever convince me that TV has changed our game for the better. Them dictating how many old firm games there must be etc bursts my balls.
You want to see your team? Well pay at the gate. Seems to work ok in Welsh and Irish leagues. In fact, their National teams have flourished while ours has nosedived.
Not sure what we're chasing here in Scotland but it's pie in the sky stuff. English football will 100% implode, it may take up to 10 years, but there's nothing surer that it'll happen.
I can't be the only one that misses what we used to have.4 -
Whether it's a no vote or a yes vote, I agree, get this done so we can move on to next stage. All talk of banter and such aside, I think this farce has gone on for too long now and Dundee have already been damaged badly by it. I think Nelms needs to submit a 'No' vote today due to the questionable legitimacy of the resolution, as well as to push the eyes back onto the SPFL to fix this situation.0 -
Haha. Deluded c unt
In a nutshell the gloating Dayglos have disappeared back to their Friockheim/Letham/Padnaram dwellings, falling out with the wives and kids and muttering about Dundee relegating them again. We have discovered that the DAB’s are in some financial difficulty and have gone to the supporters club asking for dosh. The supporters club asked for the money to be a loan and they wanted a seat on the board, at which point the petrol station guy went all Donald Trump - shouting ‘I’m the PODUFC, I’m the PODUFC.
Meanwhile our great and historic club is single handedly attempting to save the integrity of Scottish football.
Some other no marks are having a pointless discussion about legal syntax which they clearly no f**k all about.1 -
Yip, the timing is honking. If it was mid-season then I think it could get messy but maybe with everything else that has been happening (in and out football) then people maybe don't have the energy to have a proper ding dong battle, I certainly don't.
Without taking sides in the detail, the timing of the statement is an own goal by the club. There is literally no point in releasing a statement like that right now, even if it is the season for statements by everyone and anyone.0 -
Me taeI still think Dundee will vote No.0 -
Still not convinced that reconstruction is off the table.

On the contrary. They've given me years and years of pleasure and hilarity. You seem to live in quite a strange wee world where absolutely every thi g goes against Dundee Football Club.
Have they upset you in some way?3 -
So they do.Hearts bring a bigger support.
Can also see them boycotting Dens.0 -
It's not difficult really.I'm not sure I follow your train of thought - but that's nothing new considering your past posts. Care to explain this out please?
No Utd income and Hearts to compete with for promotion next year.
Might be a while until we see you again.0 -
You'll certainly need the income generated from it if it's true that your club has agreed to promote Utd and relegate Hearts. On St Patrick's day.

Unless said friendly is an all expenses paid trip to the USA with a friendly that may give them a payday that they could never get here.This.
The Iucrative friendly idea in a Scottish context is nonsense. Nobody would be remotely interested.0 -
BeelinIt's time to give back, I suppose. Especially with the court case coming up.0 -
There's no doubt they'll have gotten something out of this, be interesting to see if the reconstruction they want will be mentioned again.
I'm sure Utd will be up for giving them a wee friendly to boost their coffers. Care in the community and all that.0 -
There's about a dozen Dundee FC posters who practically live on P&B who have mysteriously disappeared in the last half hour. [emoji848]

BeelinDepends what he gets for it.
Gets nothing then it'll be hard to look at the club the same way.2 -
Why though? That's what it looks like to me.0 -

" So, Dundee voted, the vote got held up somehow. In the meantime, they emailed to cancel the vote. The vote then landed and was deemed irrelevant. Funny how the email with the vote didn’t land first time but the one cancelling it did."0 -
Come on, you can do better than this. What do you disagree with in my post, and why?You caused a gelastic seizure, right enough.0 -
Hit a nerve? It's all I could muster through the fit of laughter your post caused.
In these times of trouble, you supply such hilarity.
Thank you. x.0 -

This is fantastic banter by Dundee and the SPFL are too weak willed to show any signs of leadership and do anything about it so far.
SPFL are the eggs in this situation, and John Nelms is rolling them about silly.
Raith's chairman greeting in the Courier is absolutely fantastic.

Do you honestly believe that Nelms is in total control here?
The way I see it is that he's backed himself into a corner with no easy way to escape. No matter which way he votes now, his reputation has taken a dunt. All for what? What's the best Dundee can do out of this? League reconstruction with 14 teams is the best he can hope for imo, and even at that, he's stuck in the Championship for at least another year.
I get that Dundee fans are loving the chaos that their club is causing but it's purely for banter reasons only. For a long time now, Nelms has pretty much been public enemy no1 with the Dundee fans, now they're somehow lauding this shit show. Trying to cover up the absolute mess they've made of this me thinks.
As for Nelms and Keyes, this could be the moment that defines their time in Scotland. Wouldn't be surprised one bit if they drop the club like a hot stone in the coming months.

Reconstruction has to be on the cards surely. Otherwise, WTF have Dundee been playing at?
