  1. Not sure of the rules. Heard its a striker and another midfielder from a Scottish club.
  2. Nowt wrong with enjoying youself. I excel at it. I'm not quite 75. Although I sometimes feel I am most Sunday mornings.
  3. He never hid the fact he was a huge Rangers man. He never hid his ambitions to one day manage them. Even back then rumours were he was brought in to be 'bloodied' and prepared for the Rangers job through managing us first. Calderwood admitted this on Off the Ball 3 or 4 year ago. We were like a feeder club to them with Masterton and Murray being pals, being labelled 'Hunfermline' by fans of the other arse cheek. Spent cash we didn't have and although I took in the big games like the 2004 cup final I wasn't as regular when he was in charge. Spoke to him in Lorenzo's one night after we had been beaten 3-0 by Hearts. He was mortal drunk on his own being an obnoxious p***k. I remember saying at the time you'd never have seen Bert Paton in a toun nightclub in that state. He didn't have much class.
  4. Jim Leishman did a lot to raise our profile and bring the crowds back to East End. Not the most tactical of Managers but he's been an integral part of the club one way or another for decades. Bert Paton is without doubt the nearest to a Legend in my opinion. He's done a lot for this club and wasn't exactly treated right seeing him staying away from the club. Thankfully the new Board have changed that situation. I lost touch a bit during the Calderwood era. Couldn't be arsed with the guy.
  5. There's a lot of fair points in there but for me he's what we've got and my expectations are like a lot of our fans which is for us to be challenging for the title. I don't miss many games and I was pretty gutted the way Ayr tore us a new arse last week. I'm looking for a big improvement this week. I still think we'll be up there. Only thing I would personally add is that we'll see if he's the man, if he's not and we fail spectacularly then I would expect to see the Board taking action, and by that I mean a new Manager.
  6. What are you suggesting? that AJ is incapable of taking us any further, even though he's been improving our position year on year and met his objectives set out by the Board. It'll not matter anyway because he's what we've got and he deserves his chance to see where he takes us this season.
  7. Given the players we've signed and the fact AJ (I think) has the ability to get us winning again I'm not overly concerned at this very early stage. This league is going to throw up all sorts of results and even though I think Ayr deserve their current position in the league I think their depth of squad will see them suffer later on. It really is all to play for. If we get a win on Saturday then we can settle down again. There have been 2 good wins in Dundee and we should have beaten Hearts, that shows what we can achieve. The only thing I would say as a negative is I still think we need a physical presence up front. A big big burly striker with a nose goal, but they're thin on the ground.
  8. How much money is left? ...probably a very good question. It's all a bit high risk by their Board and whoever comes in better have a magic wand in his training bag.
  9. We were pish. Can we do better....of course we can. They'll get their chance to prove it soon enough. Another result and performance like that and things will heat up.
  10. You're a smug dick mate. Not my bag flinging abuse about but you're coming across all wrong.
  11. Hyper-tension. Reality check yesterday. Ayr handed our proverbial arse to us on a plate. Fair play. Post match just went into the shop and bought 6 bottles of lager on the bus home. Thing is I didn't go home. We went up the toun. I went into a pal of mines company, Scott Thomson. How we could have done with him yesterday. COYP
  12. Yeah the forces can give you skills for life and the training and teamwork ethic is second to none. I've been in Engineering all my working life and I've worked with shitloads of ex-forces and they're usually top drawer. I wouldn't knock folk for joining any of the Armed Forces, it's how they're deployed and how they're used that rips my knitting. Like I said Politicians sending them abroad 'to protect our interests', which is bullshit.
  13. Often it's lack of career opportunities for a lot of young folk that sees them choosing the Armed Forces. They fight the rich man and politicans wars, especially in recent times. I stopped voting Labour after Blair took us into an illegal war in Iraq. f**k the ruling classes.
  14. The club has made an effort to link the club with the local communities history through the Dunfermline Athletic Heritage Trust. Set up by Pars man Donald Adamson, who is mad keen on history and does shit loads of good work in this area. It's just one aspect of their various initatives and the link with McRaes Battalion is there with us, as it is with Hearts, Raith Rovers etc. I was at the Usher Hall couple of year ago with other Pars fans representing the Pars at a remebrance concert, which was basically the historical story of McCraes Battalion. It was a good night and dare I say a slightly emotional one given the concert was well done. Anyway I digress, strips smart as f**k.
  15. Just curious. Thankfully my kids are old enough to do their own thing. Which means I can attend a lot more now than I used to. Love a Saturday.
  16. If it's affordable to the individual and it catches the individuals imagination then fair play. Chance to visit go to away with family and mates for a fitbaw Jolly. That is a fundemental right of passage for anybody following their chosen team. There doesn't need to be any level of rational behaviour regards the decision to make the trip, we're fitbaw fans ffs. Since when did we become rational? There's a huge buzz about this among those making the trip. We're taking hundreds by the look of it, personally I can't wait.
  17. We've 3 players up front capable of playing and challenging every week , Faiss, Hippo and Ryan. Longridge could do a job. We've also got 2 potentially decent young stikers on the bench in Lewis McCann and Matty Todd. Think it's a bit too early just yet to move for another striker.
  18. There's a park just at the back of the ground haha, sorted.
