  1. 33 years of following my club everywhere, so not convinced that puts me in the relatively recent past bracket. Nonetheless, just because you’ve seen us a lot worse 50 odd years ago doesn’t mean we should all accept mediocrity now. Shrugging the shoulders and saying “we are where we are” is largely why we’ve been out of the top flight for eleven years and counting. Heads should roll.
  2. I’d hazard a guess that becoming a Club in Scotland’s third tier is case in point with regards to the negativity.
  3. We’re up against The Fox and Hound, The Black Bull and The Horseshoe Bar, Lee
  4. Don’t recall anyone ever stating TW was getting the Falkirk job. What I do recall is some people, myself included, stating we should ditch the two (or is it three?) chumps we have in charge now and make him an offer. There’s a big difference.
  5. Given who’s in charge right now, I’d say pretty much anyone who applied would be deemed acceptable. That’s how low the bar has been set at this Club. Not to worry, we’ve employed Gary Holt to change M&M’s nappies for them.
  6. Now now, don’t you be slating the crossbar challenge. If we remove the ‘bantz’ then we take away the only thing M&M have to offer.
  7. For someone who couldn’t care less re my opinion, you fair red-dot and respond to most of my posts. Off you f*ck!
  8. It was good enough (and still is) for fans to berate Hartley and McKinnon at any given opportunity, but God forbid anyone should slate “big Sexy and Cracks” who bleed the navy blue. Ignore me if you don’t like what I post, I certainly won’t lose any sleep over it. But unlike others, I won’t be giving these underperforming chumps an easy ride.
  9. That’s the responsibility of our two managers though, we shouldn’t need to brief Gary Holt on what players need a boot up the arse. It’s not just the last three games that’s been dismal either. I don’t believe for a minute that we’re any better than when M&M first took charge well over a year ago. The Club appear to be treating this like we’ve taken in two lads on work experience who are providing free labour in return for being shown the ropes. I’d probably be a bit more sympathetic towards the pair of them if that was the case, but not only are they being well paid to manage this football club, I believe they also had the nerve to ask for a pay rise in the summer!
  10. Agree that being top right now doesn’t go in our favour (in terms of replacing M&M), but it could also be seen as showing ambition and our intent. Sends a message that we mean business and we are planning to deliver Premier League football. Anyone who believes M&M are the men to carry that out is doolally, so why delay? Like you though I think we’ll have just about enough to scrape over the line if the league resumes, but we need better.
  11. The most crucial role at any football club (in my opinion) is the manager. Until that issue is addressed, we won’t be heading up the leagues anytime soon. Unfortunately though, the Board have given The Backstreet Boys in the dugout their full backing. Hopefully Holt turns out to be a very good appointment as Sporting Director, he certainly talks a good game and I definitely like his no-nonsense attitude, but it sounds to me like he’ll be juggling this new job with trying to bail out M&M; both of whom are already being well paid to manage our football club. Replace those two with someone competent who doesn’t need to be taught tactics or how to change a game and I’ll start to get a bit more excited about how we are re-modelling ourselves.
  12. Certainly not a bad thing and I actually have a feeling Holt could turn out to be a good appointment in this role, but it does beg the question...what the f*ck are M&M doing to justify their salaries?
  13. Are you actually reading what I post? I don’t trust anyone currently at the Club to make a correct footballing decision. Not a soul. What I’m saying is, based on his past experiences and success, I’d be happy to trust the judgement of Rawlins in appointing a DoF or new management team much more than I would any of the current mob. I have no idea what his influence is right now though, but I know I’d be much more content if an appointment was made after he arrives rather than before. The fact Gus MacPherson has been spoken to tells me Rawlins isn’t heavily involved at present...however my judgement may be wrong. I rate Tommy Wright and think he’d be a great appointment for us (whilst acknowledging how unlikely that might be) so you don’t have to sell his achievements to me. My point is, if his star is as high as you make out, to the point where he wouldn’t entertain Falkirk in League One, why have both Dundee Utd and Motherwell (and Ross County) all passed up the chance to appoint him?
  14. Ah, so different circumstances entirely then given he was in a job with St. Johnstone at the time. Dundee Utd overlooked him more recently in favour of Micky Mellon, and now Motherwell have opted for Graham Alexander instead, so not convinced his star is that high. Anyway, it was a hypothetical question to reiterate the point that no DoF should be getting appointed just now whilst there is so much uncertainty around the clowns in the dugout. In an ideal world, Rawlins comes in before February and in due course we announce a plan to get the club back where it belongs under a new management team and DoF (if required). Everyone pulling in the same direction rather than the current buffoons rushing into a key appointment now.
  15. Don’t recall him knocking Dundee Utd back. Calling bullshit on that.
  16. Money talks. He’s been out the game for 8 months and will be keen to get back in. Sell him a 5 year plan of establishing Premier League football. Fresh new investment. Redevelopment of the youth setup...Unlikely yes, but don’t think it’s as far fetched as you’re making out.
  17. Unlikely I agree given our current status, but we’re prepared to chuck in excess of £135k on two inexperienced duds and a DoF.
  18. No one to lean on? For an alleged £100k I wouldn’t be expecting them to lean on anyone. Get them to f*ck if they aren’t cutting the mustard. Appoint a manager who knows what he’s doing rather than sticking with two egomaniacs who are more interested in being everyone’s pal. Hypothetical question here. Let’s say Rawlins comes in and we put a package together that interested Tommy Wright. Do you think he’d be content taking orders from the likes of Gus MacPherson or Neil McCann?
  19. Shit players won’t be as big an issue if we appoint the right manager in the first place.
  20. Depends how you look at it. I’m not entirely convinced we need a DoF at all, certainly not in League One. I get the impression the morons running our Club see a DoF as being a crucial appointment to assist M&M rather than just punting the two of them for being out their depth. A DoF on top of M&M’s salaries take us up to circa £135k minimum. I wouldn’t be allowing any more footballing decisions until Rawlins arrives. If he decides he wants a DoF then I’m all for that, so long as he is heavily involved in the recruitment. I don’t trust any of the idiots we have just now.
  21. Hearing both Gus MacPherson and Neil McCann have been spoken to by the Club in relation to the DoF role...Gus MacPherson ffs!!. Apparently he’s been at at least one game recently. If Rawlins wants a DoF then let him source one himself because clearly none of the idiots currently at the Club are qualified to make a decision like this. Let’s focus on getting the managerial situation sorted out before we go pissing even more money away on another dud.
  22. I can only hope you’re both right and Rawlins sorts this mess out immediately, but we’re also being told he doesn’t want to take control. God fu*king help us if he doesn’t. There appears to be far too many people making key decisions at the Club and it needs to stop. We’re now suffering the consequences of a brainless decision by Lex Miller and Andy fu*king Thomson to appoint two idiots as our co-managers. We’re led to believe Craig Campbell and Margaret Lang made the decision to close the Academy. As has already been rumoured, it wouldn’t surprise me if that pr!ck Ritchie appoints his pal Pressley as DoF just to rub salt into the wound. Too many cooks sums this sh!tshow up entirely. Rawlins has a helluva job on his hands...
