I'm 100% saying this squad cannot go up. It needs gutted. I think after last season it's never too early to panic. I thought last season it would be a slow start that would come good. Still thought we'd make the top 4 playoffs even after the first quarter of results cos we'd go on a mad run about Christmas. Aye well. Thing is, it's not hard to turn round. St Mirren went from utter shambles to absolutely pissing the league in the space of a year without throwing money at it. That we're shite still is just down to bad recruitment.

Mibbaes. But it's not that we've lost. Its that our players look pisspoor talent wise. I'm not sure another 10 games will fix that. We've probably become a bit panicky after last season. Every othet side in this league is substantially better than Dumbarton and Brechin. We look no better (being generous) than what finished last season. Equals - proper fear.

I'm not sure about that. You'll always get a handful even if you appoint Pep, but I thought his appointment was pretty well liked. It was at least a semi experienced boss,not a cheap option promoted from within. Someone who has won this league before and seemed to have a hard "winner" edge. Maybe get a few boys who feared the style of play I suppose,but I thought Hartley had a lot of good vibes at the start. Even this summer I think season ticket sales were decent. Fans bought into the revamp of the squad. But at some point optimism meets reality. Sadly

This is possible, and likely has merit. Hartley was insistent on bringing in Mitchell though. That was his man and his way of recruiting. If he recommended any of these duds (which he has to have done as who else could) even as a second option he's failed. I'm sure there were people we didn't get because we wouldnt pay a relatively paltry amount more per week. I'd love to see how we manage our budget. I'd bet a lot of money it's a fucking stupid way of going about it, given the clowns involved.

A lot of his signings have still been from Central Scotland or thereabouts. Mackin, Irving, Fasan, Petravicious, Froxylius, Paton, Russell and Haber are all from the Scottish market. That's about half the signings. Managers are judged mainly on two things :- Recruitment - which is currently a D- And Results - which is currently an F. He has time to certainly improve the latter. Whether he's good enough to do so I doubt.

Yep, I don't buy the money thing either. Did St Mirren have a higher playing budget last year than we do this year? I doubt it. We've just bought badly, and not appointed the right manager. Jack Ross wouldn't have had half these guys in his reserves.

I'm the same. I don't feel ragin just disappointed. I really fancied a season of being excited by a squad with a bit of talent and swagger. A few gallus players. Instead, we have .... This lot.
