  1. Still find it brilliant that the current non-league wisdom is brought to us by the oracle from Blackburn [emoji23][emoji23]
  2. I don’t have a clue about the mighty pumphy but see they’re doing well again. Yes clarity is the best way, I don’t like the way the sfa or juniors operates but us the fans players and committees etc that all suffer. Do you regret your team not having moved?
  3. Also what clubs do we know making the jump to seniors this year?
  4. Seen this today not been on the feed for a while but interesting to say the least
  5. They’ve got more history that any club at this level and due to licensing changes and Selkirk’s demise they look set to drop down a level
  6. Disgrace if whitehill have to go down. Not a fan but being told they need floodlights is a joke, matches are on a Saturday afternoon, it’s the 20s that play Friday nights.
  7. Did whitehill get money for Craig Reid or free transfer?[emoji23][emoji23] probs got kicked out the door for being a decent player
  8. Also have to agree, on the 20s players however I’ve looked at the 20s squad they had last year and nearly all of them play at a decent level now (east of Scotland /lowland )Were none of them good enough for whitehill first team? I see Ciaran mckenzie and Ross Jardine are the only survivors from a team that played some quality football last year.
  9. If no change happens whitehill will get relegetaed to potentially a strong east of Scotland league 1st division full of teams which have been beating lowland league teams so unless a big change happens potentially a double relegation to the 2nd tier east of Scotland down the line, don’t see them competing with Bonnyrigg or newtongrange and camelon Broxburn etc next year if they go down. Hope it turns round
  10. A good amateur team yes, however I’d struggle to believe arniston would beat a good amateur team. An old manager cannot simply move club and sign the same squad who struggled last year. I very much doubt the defender they signed from arniston is better than Craig Reid as well. I do realise though I’ve made an errror in my phrasing, I’ve seen highlights of their matches though and they looked very poor.
  11. There’s many amateur teams with good players, go watch murieston, they don’t pay their players whatsoever but a mixture of young and old players who seem to be a good Saturday team this year, an offer of expenses and maybe a signing on fee to these type of players should be enough for them to make the jump, even the east of Scotland league as well, sometimes it’s better to have players of less skill who fight for a place than one or two good players that can’t win games by themselves or stuck it out when it’s tough.
  12. Well it’s a shame to see a big club struggle, Craig Reid is one of many who are good players being pushed out or leaving, must be the manager, it’s not hard to lure good players to a big club, money is a factor but clearly a recruitment drive taking players from a squad that struggled in the premier of juniors last year, and now this year are borderline amateur
  13. Craig Reid ive watched begorenand is quality so is worth money, however for how poor they are, they shouldn’t be getting rid of one of their only decent defenders, who can play at this level. Must be more a falling out than ability. Fingers being pointed but they don’t have money to compete these days.
  14. I agree and think personally travelling would be great but know a few senior and junior players and they say a lot of clubs either can’t afford are or refusing to give reasonable expenses, not saying it’s all about money but unless the leagues mostly made up of amateur players who will play for free and not moan about expenses, the clubs with the smaller backings will struggle when they try sign higher quality players or trying to keep a hold of players should someone else come calling.
  15. Is that because Blackburn couldn’t be the best club in that ten mile radius?
  16. East of Scotland is in some ways more professional than juniors. However does not have the same character and camaraderie sometimes. Should be split into 4 sections, borders, Fife, Falkirk to West Lothian, then Edinburgh and the other Lothians, this would have to encompass some junior teams who have not made transition. Top two of each league play end of season play offs for spot in lowland league, having 2 spots up for grabs. Then hopefully the West juniors would follow suit with a similar system for South of Scotland league again 2 places for lowland league. 4 up for down is large however if lowland league increased to 20 members would be sustainable. Also localisation and regionalisation again with juniors means less expenses for clubs to pay and more money to invest in squad and facilities. Also if tweedmouth play jeanfied for example this season, this is a huge distance with over a 2 hour travel time, and 200 mile road trip, so before even set off that’s a fairly large bill for travel. There’s a lot of ways to look at it, but regionalisation brings local Derby’s back, Penicuik vs Musselburgh, Bathgate vs fauldhouse, Whitehill vs Bonnyrigg/ newtongrange/ Dalkeith etc. Fife teams like Oakley vs hill of beath etc, would be good and should seed Scottish cup places to top 5 teams from each league every year for preliminary round. Whatever the final decision is not everyone will be happy but by keeping things local until lowland league etc will prevent small clubs getting thumped every week and also travelling a lot, borders teams would benefit, as would West Lothian, not all have the same following and backing as the top juniors boys so locally Derby’s spurs more interest than a random game such as Blackburn vs Eyemouth if that happened. I hope whatever happens all teams go east of Scotland as it’s better run with juniors and having linesman at most games as opposed to 4/5 matches having linesman this weekend in ersjfa.
