  1. Middle England won't vote Corbyn into office so I don't think Labour will gain south of the border from the last GE where they performed better than expected.    Most switchers down south will go Tory to UKIP  if the government goes into the election offering a softer Brexit.    The Lib Dems should gain ground with calls for a peoples vote.

In Scotland I can see Labour slipping a little and the SNP taking the votes that were offered because Corbyn became leader.      Quite possible the minority parties ( not Con, Lab)  could receive more than a 1/3 of all votes.

There’s not been a goalless draw between title challengers in one of the top three leagues ever. Well not since last weekend when the Madrid teams served up an absolute snoozefest.

Were you in the La Liga forum pointing that out? Or just the usual wee man syndrome?

    :lol::lol:

You get seriously angry whenever anyone criticises your beloved England.    Because, as we all know, inside every No voting Scot is an Englishman desperate to escape.

  3. Hi troops.

Today, Sat 6th October will probably mean very little to most of you.   For me it'll remain etched in my mind forever.

When I rejoined this forum for the 283rd time I thought I might be finished.    I thought I'd be washed up.    I thought the common (non-moderator) member would have thought I was actually a homophobe.

When I sat down with  fresh A4 refill pad number 283 to chart my username, I scribbled down -  "rep neutral by 100 posts" in bold blue lettering.   I underlined it four times!

I underestimated you all.    I forgot that behind every username is a user with a name ( mine is Grahame for example).     I've remembered what this site is about and it's the people.    Some of you might work in B & Q, some of you might be hedgefund managers.    Some of you might be forced into cycling, others might own a snazzy sports car.    We are a broad church but it's nevertheless still a church, and I thank the congregation for the 121 green votes from the bottom of my very deep (Perthshire) wallet.

You know who you are   xxx

I was there, it was mobbed all around the beautiful city of Edinburgh with happy Indy folk and about 2 dozen butcher apron waving nuggets. I've  only ever been for football and gigs so never appreciated it before. The price of bevy is a wee bit mental though.  Image may contain: one or more people, crowd, sky, mountain, outdoor and nature

The holocaust denying bellend that runs 'A force for good' - a man so racist he was punted out of UKIP for his views -  had targeted 200 plus Brit-nats.

    Pleasing there's no-one there.

Who knows? Were you there though? What's your methodology? I was stood in Johnston Terrace for an hour and a half and in that time the front of the march had already reached Holyrood Park. It was two lanes wide too. Thousands had left by the time we reached Holyrood.  20k??!!

    Yes.

The population of Edinburgh is around 500,000.    There wasn't the equivalent of 1/5 of Edinburgh present.

    I wish there was....there just wasn't.

The 'union' of Alba did much to solve clan feuds too. Unfortunately, the Union also meant that we were now at war with nations that had hitherto been our allies. Just because England was at war with them.

Unless you're suggesting that independence would mean more invasions from England a la King Edward and maybe a Jacobite rising on our side?

Anyway, I'd rather look forward. 100k on the streets today says similar. We're only going in one direction - we want to rejoin the world.

Absolutely no way there was 100k.    20,000 looks like the top end of the estimate.

I’m absolutely delighted being Scottish thanks. Just because I’m not a swivel-eyed Nat and I’m not bitter and jealous about our neighbours having one of the best leagues in the world doesn’t change that. What a state to get yourself in.

When faced with the choice of making your nationality Scottish or British, you choose British.     Indeed you were so disgusted ( not delighted ) about this opportunity you incorporated it into your moronic signature.

    Absolutely nobody is fooled.

Cut out booze, gym 5 times a week, cut out eating any shit whatsoever. Was all perfectly healthy. Went from 102.5kg to 83kg in 75 days (so I suppose you could round up to 11 weeks).

ETA - also walking the dog twice a day in addition to the gym

You should edit again to add you walked the dog from Aberdeen to Gretna!

Good work on the weight loss though.    It's about finding a diet that works.    That's why I love the Quavers diet.

She has a double barreled name, she is from Kent, she called her son Lex.

I'm calling c**t.   Mon the Easy Jet.

Could cause problems at check in:

"Who are you checking in"?   "Lex,us".

"I'm afraid cars are not allowed on easyjet.   Not even the Japanese Mercedes".

I could quite easily drink every night of the week tbh, but manage to stay dry during Sunday to Thursday. Friday and Saturday nights I like a beer at home, but not till after 9pm. Haven’t been in a local pub this year, but like a jaunt away for the day every now and then. Never feel any worse for wear in the morning, so f**k it, no intentions of giving it up. I’ve gave food and fags up, the drink stays though

    What's your local?

  11. Mate of mine was certainly a borderline alcoholic.   He'd opened up to me about his drinking, tucking away 200 units most weeks, although he hid it very well.

6 months after our chat he'd passed the UK driving test, bought a 5-dr Ford Focus, and had joined Dunkeld and Birnam  GC.    As part of his rehabilitation he booked morning Tee off times to keep the wolf from the door in the evenings.    We're now a full year since his confessional and he went back on the bottle and is dead.    The GC are still pursuing him after we cancelled his SO post-cremation.   Bit nasty imo .

Except she hasn't moved her office out of Govanhill!

Dixon road runs parallel with the dreaded Allison st in the heart of Govanhill.

Nicola of course is super popular there winning nearly 2/3rds of the vote.

    You're a fucking idiot.

Nicola Sturgeon is extraordinarily media managed.

Part of that has been Nicola Sturgeon spending a lot of media opportunities alongside children.

Personally, I hate it. I reckon Nicola is frightened of adults. I prefer when she can't escape Scottish people and she gets heckled.

But from her point of view, she doesn't want English people to see what happens when Scottish people tell her what they think of her and her party and policies.

    Agreed.

When you're frightened of adults what better job to do than First Minister.    It's the social recluses dream!

Well, 235,000 EU nationals live in Scotland. They broke 65/35 for No last time. You'd assume that they'd have every reason to vote yes this time, if, as seems likely the next one was fought on the principle of Scotland going back to some kind of close relationship with Europe. So that's 150,000 new yes voters right off the bat - for example.

    You're assuming 100% turnout.
