A more nuanced assessment to perhaps take away would be overall a fantastic performance away to a top team but a bad result in the end. - Shankland did well and don't think there would have been much difference in terms of team performance if that had been Dykes or Adams; - Shankland's miss was a one on one, which you would have expected to him to score - hardly a "shocker" or a "sitter" as it has been described; - if we play like we did for 75 mins, and we take any of the Christie, McGinn, McTominay or Shankland chances - which based on previous performances and goal tallies is likely - we will do well in our group games; When you see stuff like "reality check" etc getting banded ahead of us going to our second successive Euros, you just wonder where folks have been for the past 20 odd years......

They also invariably think that any ex footballer with a nickname (ie just adding a y" to the surname) is hilarious with their "bantz" which is largely derived from tales of dressing room japes and training ground bust-ups. The use of "mate" is a core part of their lexicon.

Finding it increasingly difficult to open things. Honestly - I know opinion on Sweeney is split and he can utter nonsense on account that he feels his tenuous Clyde/shipbuilding links give him a unique perspective and solidarity with the working man. This plus the fact he was claiming Universal Credit when he got punted as an MP, though you would question his need for doing so on the basis it seemed a comms exercise. However, his stuff on Glasgow redevelopment is really good and he takes a genuine interest in seeking to maintain old Glasgow buildings, support sustainable redevelopment, and never seems partisan about his pursuit of this (would be difficult to do I guess as Labour in GCC are responsible for the majority of the rot of many a once great building). But the above just shows him as a shameless Labour careerist, towing the party line, blurring lines between lies and misrepresentation to justify the deceitfulness of the party head. With Sweeney and many Scottish Labour MSPs/MPs it is Labour first, Westminster second with constituents and Scotland appearing way down their list of priorities.

You are blinded by this and therefore all your opinions appear to be formed with this as your starting point. Instead, why not focus on the players themselves - technical ability, form in a Scotland shirt, and their respective strengths as players. You should be able to do this regardless of the level of opposition. If unable to do so, then maybe consider whether Jacob Brown could score 25 goals for Hearts - based on what I have seen I would seriously doubt that; in fact I doubt he would get double figures even if playing for Rangers or Celtic (if played as a forward). Just a few things to consider rather than "Scottish Premiership is shite" ergo all players playing there are vastly inferior to squad players plying their trade in superior leagues.
