  1. yeh also saw that in a Guardian article and surprised to see he as anything but a complete no hoper ala his London mayoral campaign. Just shows that if you are in the grift for the long haul it will eventually pay off.
  2. Finding it increasingly difficult to open things. The top items for me are: - Mouthwash - Little sachets of coffee or milk in hotel rooms despite tearing at the "perforated"/open part - little sauce packets in pubs - razor packs that use that see through plastic coating on the front - anything that comes with that plastic coating Loads more that I will remember when I next struggle with them. Sometimes a minor irritant - a petty thing getting on my nerves. Other days throws me into a full blown rage.....
  3. a mob. Honestly - I know opinion on Sweeney is split and he can utter nonsense on account that he feels his tenuous Clyde/shipbuilding links give him a unique perspective and solidarity with the working man. This plus the fact he was claiming Universal Credit when he got punted as an MP, though you would question his need for doing so on the basis it seemed a comms exercise. However, his stuff on Glasgow redevelopment is really good and he takes a genuine interest in seeking to maintain old Glasgow buildings, support sustainable redevelopment, and never seems partisan about his pursuit of this (would be difficult to do I guess as Labour in GCC are responsible for the majority of the rot of many a once great building). But the above just shows him as a shameless Labour careerist, towing the party line, blurring lines between lies and misrepresentation to justify the deceitfulness of the party head. With Sweeney and many Scottish Labour MSPs/MPs it is Labour first, Westminster second with constituents and Scotland appearing way down their list of priorities.
  4. That's just lazy. Not even a pal or relative's car which would prevent you from changing station. Must do better.
  5. I enjoy the ever more convoluted reasons why OTB haters happened to have "accidentally" or been "forced" to listen to the show. They probably make up 50% of the shows' listener base each week.
  6. intrigued by the article and it was inevitably about parking. Bingo parking article points for use of: - "nightmare"; - "bottleneck"; - "disaster waiting to happen".
  7. "what look you wanting from me for the photo to accompany this piece then?" "eh, let's go for all out psycho. That should do it"
  8. I genuinely hope that Hickey and Tierney will be fully fit....
  9. angry . Straight in with the old "ragin", "seethin" response. Says it all but at least Clarke agrees with you. Okay fella
  10. You are blinded by this and therefore all your opinions appear to be formed with this as your starting point. Instead, why not focus on the players themselves - technical ability, form in a Scotland shirt, and their respective strengths as players. You should be able to do this regardless of the level of opposition. If unable to do so, then maybe consider whether Jacob Brown could score 25 goals for Hearts - based on what I have seen I would seriously doubt that; in fact I doubt he would get double figures even if playing for Rangers or Celtic (if played as a forward). Just a few things to consider rather than "Scottish Premiership is shite" ergo all players playing there are vastly inferior to squad players plying their trade in superior leagues.
  11. immediately in and around Termini is not great - like lots of train station areas at night. But if you are closer to the Opera House then you are absolutely fine - you are literally 30 secs away from Republicca Metro and its beautiful piazza and fountain, a main well presented shopping street Via Nazionale (which leads you directly to Piazza Venezia (and the Forum etc) - plus you are very very close to my favourite area in Rome - Via del Boschetto - which has fantastic bars, vintage shops and restaurants. Like a mini hidden Trastevere. So all in all I would be pretty happy if I were staying in your location.
  12. This one seems quite desperate. Feel quite sorry for them. Best not to directly engage but at same time hope they (or their alter-ego) can get whatever wins or affirmation they need from a political section of a football forum that they have no interest in.
  13. my time is so precious that I simply have no option but to chose one thread at random to post my trolling nonsense on......
  14. Or all the benefits that are reaped from ensuring that all Scotland international games are kept behind PPVs......
  15. An admirable twist to 'anyone who has played the game to a decent level.....'
  16. Labour's response: Labour says this shows Sunak is out of touch. Responding to the inteview, Jonathan Ashworth, a shadow Cabinet Office minister, said: Not immediately considering that making bets on issues that affect the lives of desperate people is extremely distasteful. No, not for this Labour Party who don't wish to be seen as a "soft touch" when it comes to Johnny Foreigner. Instead they comment on the size of the bet and how Samantha and Bill in Rochdale can only dream of making such huge bets.
  17. I like the cut of this new poster's jib. Certainly one to keep an eye on to see how they progress.
  18. Adult invariably crouches down/goes down on knees to have a heartfelt conversation with a child - basically to allow both their heads to appear in the same frame in the next shot. Americans will also happily refer to their child as "sport", "bud" or 'champ" in most tv productions.
  19. Ladies and Gentleman. I give you the "opposition"..... "sensible". "strategic" etc etc. Basically identikit Tories before mass corruption sets in and even with that, give it 6 months or so and will be impossible to tell apart. This feckin country, honestly.
  20. articles such as this were routinely trotted out and headlined almost every week in the run up to the vote:
