  1. I think it's probably best to accept that leave won the vote, it was a democratic vote, so we should accept the result and get on with it. I voted Yes and I voted Remain. I was on the losing side of both referendums. Above all else I am a democrat so I respect the result.
  2. He voted leave though....just saying Stop being such a sweetie
  3. Well said that man best keeping the bairns out of politics
  4. Thanks everyone I feel much better now getting these things of my chest very cathartic and soooooo much cheaper than a shrink. I was just very sad and upset over you know what. its been a traumatic few days and i apologise if I have been a little snappy with some posters i dont mean any harm and my bark is much worse than my bite so please don't think to badly of me as there's no need to spank the monkey. Big shout oot to all the Thistle fans the new management team will have my full support, so lets smash it jags and have the most awesome season ever. Good luck to all the otther teams and posters Bye bye everyone
  5. Lets keep it civil my friend we are all jags fans after all it's just a bit of banter. We should meet up at the next game and chew the fat together ill get the pies if you get the bovril
  6. Since the advent of online forums etc i have been bitterly critical of two managers. Gerry Collins and Dick Campbell. I am happy to stand by that criticism. The era of DC is not a time i remember fondly. That in part, was the reason for my non attendance during that time. I wasn't the only one who was lost to the cause during that era. It's the only time in 38 years i have actively decided to saty away from Firhill. I'm glad it was brought up though. It serves as a timely remember that things might be relatively poor over the last few games but they are nowhere near as bad as then. It also serves as a reminder that if you make the wrong decision as a club, you are in danger of disappearing into the wilderness for a decade. Think on.
  7. I am happy to debate with reasonable people. People who can at least post in reasonable English and can construct something worthwhile. I wont be indulgin in debate with clowns.
  8. As you can see from my posting history, i don't spend too much time here. I find it's largely a place for the moronic element of the Thistle support to hang out, with a dozen or so notable exceptions. The last few weeks have been difficult for any supporter but I remain loyal to the guy who got us promoted, brought us a decent season after season and someone i believe in. He was the Thistle manager. As such, he was bound to make mistakes and do unfathomable stuff. Just like Lambie did before him. And Auld before him. And McParland before him. He and the players should have been given time to take responsibility for it and sort it out. However, as fans, some people need to take a good look at themselves. It is an indisputable fact that a high percentage of Thistle fans have not a clue, sadly they are usually the drink fuelled clowns that shout loudest on a Saturday. To those who wanted Archie sacked, give me the name of the replacement and guarantee he'll make progress, on and off the field and i'll sign up. I note that there seems to be a shortage of names being bandied about.
  9. You are out of your depth. Good attempt on your part though to make something of nothing.
  10. My critics are now left scrabbling around. Their main arguments in tatters. It's pretty simple. I'm a fan giving my opinion. My opinion is that you and your fellow critics should STFU and give the rest of us peace.
  11. To be clear. Stevie Wonder is absolutely entitled to his opinion on Alan Archibald's Partick Thistle. In fact, i'd welcome it as an enlightened view compared to some the drivel on here.
  12. You wanted him sacked last season. It's fans like you that are killing football. No wonder people stay away from the game. It's a sport for the spineless. You wanted a guy sacked. You pile on the pressure and if it turns around, you shuffle off to the side and kid on it was someone else who was pointing fingers. It would have been"Well done Archie". You either believe he's the right guy or you don't. At least have some conviction.
  13. "Based on What?" Mutual respect that's what? Why should I respect respect someone who wants a person sacked from their job less than a quarter into a season? Without having suggested a suitable replacement or even hinted who that might be? It's simple. Archie should have been given until the end of the season or until he decided that he couldn't turn it around. You should have been proper Thistle supporters and backed him. If it didn't work out, at least you would feel like you gave him a chance. You are no different to the baying morons that litter Scottish football.
  14. This is the part where i ask "who do want to replace him?" then one of two things happen 1. Posters get upset for having to think about alternatives. 2. Danny Lennon, Ian McCall and maybe Jimmy Calderwood get mentioned. You should have some balls. Don't be like all thise other fickle ****wits around Scotland. We should have stuck with our manager.
  15. Regardless of which league we end up in next season, there's no one I'd rather have at Firhill than Archibald. If we're in the Championship again next season so what? I'd prefer to have a young man manage the club who is Thistle through and through learning his trade and gaining his experience - rather than some snake who will jump to a 'bigger' club the very first chance he gets, or a berk from the miners country of Fife, or some ex-Old Firm t*sser who'd rather play golf and spout pish about his beloved Celtic than manage, or some ****** who just wants to play hoof-the-baw with journeymen duffers, etc etc etc etc and on and on and on. I don't see how going down is a disaster. We are at best a yo-yo Premiership / Championship club. Archie deserved to the end of next season to see if he could get us back up.
  16. Admin. I think this and a few other accounts might have been hacked?
  17. I could make a reasonably well articulated case for keeping Archie as manager but it's pointless when guys like yourself clearly don't rate him. As for respecting other posters opinions, there are a lot on here i do respect sadly there are morons who post here. Just like there are morons who attend Firhill and pollute it with their ramblings. There was one guy last week who shouted that Archie could "**** off any time". This was before half time. This same guy was ranting at John Lambie at Alloa the season he brought in the junior guys. Wanted him sacked. There were 5 morons who abused Elliot on Saturday, accusing him of all sorts. They didn't even hang around to watch the full game. People are absolutely entitled to their opinion. I respect that. I don't need to respect the content when it's utter drivel, just because we happen to support the same football team.
  18. I'd hoped never to darken this forum but the shite that is being talked compels me.
  19. If the boo-boys had high aspirations for Thistle, i'd cut them slack. They don't. They are corrosive. They eat away at a players confidence. When Thistle are struggling, Firhill is a particularly horrible place to watch football. I use struggling as a relative term, most of us have witnessed much much worse. In fact, there's a large number who have witnessed nothing better. Maybe i'm getting old but i've seen this movie before. One way or another Archie will get another gig and be a huge success again. We'll be left reminiscing about those days as we watch Thistle being beaten soundly by a team with a couple of hundred fans. The SPFL days will seem like an unattainable far off land. "Fellow fans" should have been careful, very careful, about what they wished for imo.
  20. This forum is a home for the moronic. Clearly not all contributors but a lot of them. It's a close run second to the WAT forum which thankfully, i don't get involved in. There are clearly morons in the Thistle support. They were booing and whistling 25 minutes into the last few games. Just like they were booing and bating Archie on Saturday. There was even one moron sitting at Dunfermline abusing Elliot. Anyone who was at any recent game would presemably agree that was daftness personified. Bad performances? Yes. Worst performance of Archie's reign? Possibly. Worrying trend? Possibly but there are mitgating circumstances. Worst Thistle performance ever? Not even close. Reasons for sacking Archie? Sure, it's a reason but only a moron would suggest it let alone carry it out. #inarchiewetrust
  21. Fed up listening to unnecesarily negative and divisive pish, so i don't care about the sensitivities of the few on here who deserve it and deserve it tight. There's a group of Thistle fans who need to take a look at themselves. "Thanks Archie" "Sad Day"? What an absolute nerve some of you lot have. As for "troll"? There's been a barrowload of trolling directed at the manager for weeks, but that was an opinion? Free speech? Entitled? What's good for the goose and all that, so suck it up. #inarchiewetrust
