What’s brody Paterson like is he any good for championship level?, he’s supposedly training with us and gaffer is keen to sign him up. thought I would ask this thread as you’ll know him well?
Solid defender and loved him coming forward too which he liked to do frequently. Very solid at L1 level, I’m sure he could do a job in the Championship. Patterson and Millen at the back for you would be pretty solid, I know that Murray took to Brody pretty well. Would be a good addition. Little bit jealous here, thought MAYBE he would be back this season but always suspected he’d move up a level. As others mentioned, he faded a little in the playoffs - as did a majority of our team. But for regular season a definite good addition for us0 -
See McInroy has been snapped up by Kilmarnock.
Think he could do a job for them, after playing against them in the Championship I’m sure a few sat up and took notice. Just hoping he gets a chance to shine and doesn’t end up a bench warmer. Or maybe he’ll end up going out on loan. [emoji849] good on him, he went from L1 to Championship to top flight within a few months0 -
Another Neil McFarlane in the making. Well more or less.
Bring it on.
There’s a name from the past! Thought McFarlane was outstanding for us that season. Really controlled the midfield well. If we could get someone like him I’d be very happy.
I’ll take the 7ft West Ham striker over MacLeod though, we’ll need goals!0 -
So I wasn’t even going to put this one out there, but since we are all starving for updates from the club I’ll get a rumour going. Taxi driver on Saturday night, who’s bother in law is connected to the club(you can smell the BS already). Says that Lewis MacLeod was in the frame as he looks to return to football after a bad injury. He apparently knows Rhys from the Rangers academy. Don’t know much about the player other than he was destined for big things and got blighted by injury. Don’t believe a word of it myself, unsure if he’s contracted elsewhere etc but an excellent midfielder when fit by all accounts. It seems some other business has already been done by the club, just need some announcements. Prefer anyone we sign is fully ‘fit’ and ready for a hard long season

Just watched the pre-season interview with Murray, how you guys feel the team is shaping up for this season? Feeling confident for the playoffs?

Given we signed a left back yesterday then McCann will be second choice unless the plan is to play him further up. He's been a disappointment tbh, expected a lot more from him. A lot might depend on if he has any sort of clause in his contract.
I don’t think Falkirk got the best out of ANY of their players last year. The manager should know that he was a bit of a standout a couple of seasons ago, lots of potential. So a little surprised that the new signing has come in, Leon may want a change but yes, money talks. Fully expect him to stay at Falkirk - pity we can’t get him on loan

Tumbleweed flowing through this thread, even a financial statement couldn't stir the loins of the faithful.. That's our rivals back in training as of this weekend with Dunfermline, Falkirk and QOS turning up the heat in the new signing stakes this week.... Where as we have heard nothing even our ITKs have disappeared, quietest close season for years which normally is not a good thing from an Airdrie perspective..... The club have to get used to LMA (Life after murray), without going over my previous posts, we seem behind the 8 ball even this early.....compared to our rivals..
The club really need to throw us a fish now and again... Any word on pre season friendlies, Season Tickets, New kit ( umbro or not) not to mention a qualified coach or two....
Zzzzzzzzzzzzz….. you woke me up!!! What’s going on??? What?
tooooo sloooowww…… Thought we’d be making some progress on the recruitment front this week

That's a different Paul Keegan. The one that played for us is 49.
Lol. I figured ours could only be coming back in a coaching capacity, his namesake still able to play possibly but hasn’t been in action since Covid basically. Ok, glad this is just a joke. Hoping for a couple of quality signings..this week. If I think back on all the garbage we’ve signed over the last 20 years though it gives me shivers. Last year being one of this seasons where you are happy with 90% of the squad, praying for the same this season.

Paul Keegan is 37 but doesn’t appear to have played in a couple of years, the other one you are spot on. Just watched this years goalfest. Strikes absolute fear into me thinking about guys like these in place of Easton etc. hoping for good news this week

I would be making him a better offer. Something we need to do if we're serious about winning the league.
This. Some would call me arrogant, but if we want to have a serious campaign this season and Savoury WAS one of our main targets then we need to put some of our resources into securing his signature and stop him from going elsewhere. I know clubs don’t get to sign everyone that they want but this seems to be a very doable addition to the team. Board have to work with Reese to get this over the line if its that important to our plans

Don’t know why there is so much pish talk between Airdrie and Falkirk fans right now, can only assume we are two teams likely to be challenging and both are moving into the unknown with new managers etc. For me, I’m looking for a stronger Falkirk next year. Was expecting you guys to take points off of CR and others which didn’t happen and we will most definitely need teams capable of helping against Dunfermline etc. how are things shaping up and do you think McGlynn will have these guys better organized for next season? Unsure of your squad but suspect the contract situations are a bit of a hinderance? Looking forward to our meetings next season. Not expecting it to be quite as one sided as last year and will most likely be tight cagey affairs. Taking you guys for the playoffs, don’t let me down. Made that prediction for you last 2 seasons but was a shit show. Work in progress, playoffs would be a step in the right direction

you have to admit, if you drew up a list of potential players who could make up L1s ‘team of the year’ for the coming season, these two players would be on there. Very please with our business the last 48 hours and I’m sure we’ll have some good additions coming. I think Falkirk are just lumbered with too many long term contract issues and players who aren’t cutting it for McGlynn. I see another frustrating season for Falkirk but I DO think they will get to the playoffs. Mind you, I’ve said the same thing the last couple of years

A satisfying Saturday - 2 key players and hoping for Gabby to sign up to keep everything a bed of roses. Would love Paterson to come back in at LB, would make our defense the best in the league IMO. I know he’ll probably be off to the Championship but if that doesn’t work out I’d take him in a minute. We scored lots of goals, but conceded some bad ones also. We need to firm things up, especially with an improved Falkirk and Dunfermline on the schedule. And Montrose always seem to score against us. Any other prospects out there at the LB position?

If Hutton is the sub goalie and goalie coach will that make him the de facto manager on a match day? That will be tremendous fun. If you thought Murray got booked a lot
. Tbh, I’d love to have Hutton back as a coach. Good lad and him training a Celtic keeper. Ironic! Ballantyne can spill the beans about the ‘rebel’ tunes coming from the Mo dressing room a couple of seasons back. Lots of fun, excellent first training session coming up . Watson signing is fantastic, another one crossed off the list but I think we all want Frizzell signed. He won’t be going to RR it appears, but the QP rumour could very well be true. Hoping the good feel factor convinces him to stay put, the fans love him and he would be a good bit harder to replace. So far I’m happy with how things are progressing but we are 3-4 key signings away from being as strong as last season. Next week will be a busy one me thinks

Cammy is the best RB in L1 by a mile and you’ve landed a gem .. he should be a level above. He’ll always be a Mo legend. Hope you lot get relegated.
Unlikely with Cammy at RB!

Funny the club adding new pics of the pitch just to show us that SOMEONE is still working. This close season has been very slow on the recruitment side of things. Hoping it’s not a lack of experience or influence on Rhys part. Very happy with the retention/additions so far but hoping we don’t get outsmarted on some other targets. Looking forward to seeing the pen….. could be a few days though
