  1. nobody has said going forward is the problem ,as you state the defence is awful maybe if airdrie had 1 win ( against a colt team ) in 8 competitive games and had conceded 19 goals you might be worried You’re overreacting- all it needs is less negativity and a bit more singing
  2. Our thoughts of competing for promotion play offs certainly- but there’s the other end to consider and I’d be really upset if by Christmas that was decided!!!!!
  3. they dont count In general no- but for the purpose of this discussion they do. i don’t subscribe to this “ we’re only just up” view- Danny told us we were going to compete in league 1 not merely look to survive. Plenty of time to go as long as we make some changes quickly- if nothing done, we could easily be on the same points total 3 games from now.
  4. Exaggerating slightly to make the point I’d assume with the double figures comment- but it does not lessen the fact that we ARE struggling badly to prevent balls coming into our box from wide positions and equally struggling to defend those deliveries. I have only seen one poster saying it’s not the defence at fault, the midfield just as culpable- and anyway all that’s needed is more fans to turn up next week and sing more..... if only it that were that simple! i have a positive feeling that we’ll be lining up next week with a different looking back 4- i’m sure Danny needs no further telling that this is not working and despite “ slow improvement” major surgery is required immediately to prevent a massive gap emerging between us and the teams aiming for 4th or better.
  5. Ok let’s say the midfield are just as much to blame- although the consensus of opinion would contradict that opinion..... I wish it would be as easy as curing it all with some singing-I fear that’s not the case and losing 9 goals in 3 games is not what’s needed. It will be a tight league, going by other results today, and so this is one “Cnut” who is not yet panicking, but is in fact concerned that unless we make some changes, and quickly- to both personnel and tactics ( not withstanding Ranks injury, cuddihy’s dodgy hammy and Goodie not quite being match fit, oh and Kristopher’s absence) I may well be a panicking “Cnut” fairly soon! I’m sure though that those Clyde fans who were there today, sang their hearts out as ever and stayed until the final whistle to applaud the lads effort.
  6. The worry is Petkov is a loan from a prem club and the general opinion is that he’s not good enough-
  7. Sadly I wasn’t there- but this comes over as a very balanced and fair summary of today- very objective too and let’s hipe we can somehow get this sorted at the back- we’ll struggle even with Goodie and Cuddihy fitter and Norway back on the scene if we don’t fix the defence. With a better keeper we are still losing goals far too often. A centre back we can trust and a left back from a prem club please and things will get better.
  8. We might not be spending money on Petkov though but, yes it’s hard to know where we could offload players to at this stage and charge wages to clubs taking them on loan, so we can free up wages, especially as Prem clubs are starting to offload now. I have a good feeling this will be a positive week for us somehow and the defence may look better by next Saturday. It will be a tight league by the looks of it and we’re not down and out yet.
  9. Was the guy at LB an improvement on McNiff? If so, great- and with BC’s hamstring improving so that he could start last night- I think a really good CB would change our season from avoiding 9th to chasing for 4th
  10. Absolutely - I heard he was looking for 200 a week to keep up his lifestyle
  11. Agreed- he did it as he wanted to play- but was never comfortable there, by his own admission.
  12. I yield to your research efforts More to the point we did not convert him from a midfielder to a Centre Back as per the point you were making. You may stay on the internet though, you!
  13. Tom Lang never a midfielder- CB since very early age. Played in midfield once for us- Get off the internet.....
  14. That’s just the point.... it appears he doesn’t play for Dunfermline.
  15. Absolutely, got to be more concerned about retaining the far side ball boys and ensuring we have more spare balls available......
