  1. Far too well reasoned.....would take some out of the box thinking from the SFA......there’s where the strategy falls over.
  2. We don’t appear to have a scouting system- so we tend to bring players in for training and assess them- it’s not just done on heresay or previous clubs. Lets see what happens in January- but if there is any business done- I hope it’s more fruitful than it was in the summer
  3. “Lang had his one shot at right back v Peterhead”.......I thought he played the week before against Cowdenbeath also?First two games back from injury and he’s pitched in to 2 really tough games in a position he’s done his best to adapt to- he’s a CB end of- he needs to be played there or he needs to move on. He also played willingly for us in that position last season before a horrible injury, having turned down a firm offer from Peterhead ( as a CB) and in midfield for us too on a couple of occasions. A more willing and enthusiastic lad would be hard to find. Either give him his chance in the position he’s played all his life (at 19 years old for Dumbarton in the Championship) or do the decent thing and let him go....he may just surprise a few at CB by making tackles- winning the ball in the air and by being our most vocal player on the pitch who will organise. Or, he could be crap and Rangers signed a dud- Dumbarton played a dud in the Championship, Peterhead offered a contract to him by mistake, and Scotland U 19’s made a selection error.
  4. In your opinion- I find him quite funny actually- it’s a bit of gallows humour- no need to be so offensive
  5. Think you meant “ shifting” but made me smile....
  6. Why are the two mutually exclusive? Can we not achieve both?
  7. Well DW- despite your “guarantee”, I can’t agree... I don’t consider myself a “ perma seether” and I’m afraid it’s not something I would be at all happy to accept. We are currently renting a stadium in Cumbernauld- albeit a good one- and one that is scalable if and when we march up the league’s- but we’ve been there for approximately only 18% of our existence and whilst at the moment there is no viable option for a return to Glasgow- it’s a hope/dream of a large percentage of the support to return to our Glasgow roots.
  8. I think a back 3 would work if we had Stewart fit or a natural left back replacement- sadly we have neither right now. They could convert to back 4 during the game dependent on how the game was going and how the opposition set up- by bringing either wing back in as traditional full back and or both and one of the starting back 3 shifting forward to frontal sweeper or further forward to holding role. we simply don’t have the resources to have natural cover in all positions- but Cuddihy has done brilliantly. Currie- well I’ve been clear on my thoughts previously
  9. Agree 100%- he needs pushing- and we need a suitable alternative
  10. I think your questions were directed at CFCUK- but from my own perspective- I wasn’t there- and personally I think the result was unimportant- the fixture provided Danny with the opportunity to have another look at Duffie and Gorman in a match situation- 2 players who haven’t featured and who may be away in January- a look at Hughes (who has been injured and hasn’t started much) to establish if he is capable of pushing Currie, and if not we may need to address this- a look at Lang in his natural position of CB- also a good opportunity to set up without Goodie ( one of these days he may be unavailable through injury or suspension) and in general a good run out and maintaining of weekly routine for the squad. Sounds like it was a nice day out for our supporters too.
  11. Was it personal towards you? Why else would you be so keen to have them banned again? To repeat myself- I think the recent posts have been really insightful and enjoyable to read- maybe the ban has served to produce a bettter poster- is everyone not due a second chance?
  12. What’s this person done? I’ve enjoyed his recent posts- well thought out and expressed.
  13. ... and i’m the buffoon suggesting Currie should be dropped- and I stand by that. He doesn’t make enough saves versus attempts on goal in my opinion. He does not provide confidence for the defence- that’s quite clear to see- and you never know, being benched for a couple of games may not be a bad thing for him to realise he’s not the automatic choice. I’m not really wanting to get drawn into direct comparisons with Hughes- it’s just that Hughes is our other keeper-
  14. Did you not think he did well v Motherwell? And I believe he’s been carrying a niggling injury- I hear Danny rates him. All good debate- let’s see how we go over the next few weeks. Have a great evening.
  15. What evidence do you have that he's better than Currie? I didn’t say he was better than Currie now, did I? He’s our No 2, hasn’t had a competitive number of games so can’t play your “ evidence “ game. My point is that if you have a No 2 keeper and the No 1 not doing too well ( yes, just my opinion) maybe it would be an idea to give the number 2 a try out. Radical I know- but not quite as radical as suggesting it’s time to drop DG I’d say. Give him service he’ll score- give his replacement service, they might not.
  16. Absolutely not pinning it all on the GK- loads of other issues- but he’s not saving enough for me.
  17. Yes- didn’t do well behind a shoogly defence- that’s him condemned then?
  18. He had a poor game true enough- thought he did well v Motherwell - worth another go -
  19. Agree with everything except Currie- was confused when someone criticised his kicking- that part of his game better than saving- dealing with crosses. Would give Hughes a run of games if he’s fit.
  20. I thought everyone was going on about how GOOD his distribution is? And I’ve never seen a keeper more reluctant to put his hands above his shoulders. Before Edinburgh where he actually made a save or two- the last 8 attempts on target resulted in a goal conceded...... give Hughes a chance now.... pleaaaaaasssse
  21. I think we’re saying someone with his quality could easily knock in 3 given some service- and I guess we’re saying what is the alternative? Kristoffer and Boyle or Karim up front- not for me- he needs service and lots of it and by the law of averages he’ll start scoring again- imagine the pressure he’s under to score, with the odd half chance he currently gets?
