  1. What picture is being painted - if it's not for money as you allude to regarding O'Neil?

We can’t retain who we want (picture is we’re not competitive). 2 clear examples so far. And apart from a squad of teens we’ve not signed anyone (Queen’s Park amateur and Jimmy Naecunt today aside). The o’Neil thing is a funny one. Turns down a £25 pay rise and folk lose their shit. Off for more money we hear. Signs for stenhousemuir then apparently he’s a bit daft and it’s alluded he’s made a mistake. In reality I’m sure he’s looked after himself and done ok. This new regime so far is dubious (announcing players as signed that have moved on). I hope they win it back but not impressed so far.

  2. Bottom line is the manager needs topin point his most desired players and pursue them and get them signed. Whether that’s tomorrow or 4 weeks from now, it’s all about getting the best team together. TBH I’d be panicking if we’re out picking up a full squad before end May... happy to wait and see who we sign, asking as it’s who Murray wants and it’s the right caliber of player. The manager knows we need play offs minimum or he’s out of a job. He knows what’s at stake

He pin pointed Mcintosh. Offered him a full time deal so presume he was desired. Thought he had him. Something happened, he fucked off.

There’s backing the club and then there’s ignoring shit that’s happening in front of you. E.g. O’Neil left apparently for money but signed for Stenhousemuir. There’s a picture being painted.

Having said that I’m realistic. I presume we’ll go with kids and left overs. Get behind them. However don’t think we’re chucking money at this. No shame in that, where would it come from after all. Let’s not pretend/think otherwise though.

  3. Player gets offered new contract.

    Player verbally agrees said contract.

Club announce it thinking it's a done deal.

Players gets last minute better offer.

    Player accepts the better offer.

Think 'Meh' covers that quite well. The club jumped the gun a bit...so what? Its football, will happen all the time with players.

Incompetence covers it. Can you imagine if for instance Man Utd, Celtic or Rangers did likewise. There would be uproar. Announcing players before they sign for them then to go elsewhere really doesn’t happen all the time. I can’t believe you’re even suggesting it does. Absolutely ridiculous

  4. It's all very strange. Curious to see where he ends up now mind you. Meh. I think we can do better although depending on the makeup of our final squad he might have been a useful backup.

So, nothing to say about the club offering him a full time deal, the fact he apparently signs (for whatever reason), and it was announced but then turned out it was all shite? The absolute incompetence of announcing it before he had actually signed and the story behind as to why he backed out doesn’t even register beyond a meh???

For someone so vocal and anti people asking questions, I find that strange mate. Balance is key.

  5. Never quite made enough of an impact under all our managers so that is not a surprise. I could not see him as a midfielder  and he was rarely given a chance at CB. He was whole hearted so I wish him the best. Where has he gone?

He just says he’s off. I know he was transfer listed so maybe has something lined up. Hopefully he’ll go somewhere he’ll get a run of games. One of the few that actually seemed to care.
  6. The reality is guys like Millar let us down last season and didn’t get any where near a level that was good enough (bar in a few kick about games at the end of the season). I can’t believe anyone is happy to see him stay.

The point made a few posts above about re-signing these guys not making us better is true (I still shiver at the memory of losing to Stenhousemuir at home for instance when it was all to play for in terms of promotion). And if we do end up with a load of kids filling the full time positions then I worry about next season already.

However there is of course plenty time and we should judge once everyone is in. A few experienced full time players would be a big help.

  7. Well that's us padded out the squad with the part timers,   There is nothing we have signed or resigned that makes you think the new season will be any different than the last umpteen seasons...    We still need a minimum of 8 better QUALITY full time  players  to compete and get to the playoffs.

We’ll all get a shock if it’s a bunch of kids making up the full time element.

  8. Cheers! Thought Miller was not flamboyant and quietly went about his business. Lot of room for improvement tho. I just don’t think him and Gallagher worked well in the same midfield and one had to go. Was expecting a lot more from him considering the hype when we signed him. Time will tell.

Yeah agree with that. Hope he does well but was really disappointed with him last season. Hopeless for most of it.
  9. And if they do play then they're obviously good enough in which case we damn well should play them.

Sensible as well to get young Andrew McNeil (not that one) signed up too. I see he's been confirmed as full-time, are the other young players going to be full-time as well?

First bit first. That’s not really how it works though. See, the players who played this year played but clearly weren’t good enough! So flawed logic there.

Second bit, not aimed at you, but it looks like the model will be a full time core of youngsters. Not necessarily a bad thing but I’d reckon there will be limited experience on that part of the hybrid model based on what we’ve seen so far.
  10. It's hard to know how much stock to take in that. He's kind of got to say that and you would imagine an offer from Raith or Thistle (and probably full-time too) would be tempting. Having said that given his age and the stage of his career he's at he might be happy to stay part-time. And without wanting to indulge in the "love playing for this football club" cliche that players regularly hit out with he did genuinely seem to enjoy his time here.

Been told by a couple of folk that he’s re-signing. Fingers crossed anyway.
  11. You have got a potential star. Progressive midfielder with a terrific shot. Not frightened to tackle although he could do with a little more muscle. I wish him the best of luck.

Good to hear. Had a few right good players from QP over the years so hope he’s another. Jimmy Boyle and Brian McPhee spring to mind. One or two not so good right enough....! Good luck next season anyway.
  12.

The Facebook is getting nasty and personal. I’ll be imposing my usual summer social media shutdown soon and hoping the shitshow is sorted by the time August rolls around....

I’m the idiot asking not very difficult questions but coming across as a twat it seems so in that role of P&B idiot, (bitter ex director!? I wish!!!!!), can I ask did you not speak out against the Wotherspoon era, and full time football? Not meant as a criticism or a challenge, but why is this new model different to what happened then. We’re at the goodwill of one individual it seems.

  13. I appreciate you taking the time to post a summary, as many others will. What I would say though is, I didn’t read new poster Diamond Outsiders response as being aimed at you, as what you posted wasn’t your opinion but notes from the meeting.

Cheers. Okay. I took it that it must be me as I’ve not seen any other updates/minutes anywhere. I’m all for debate/discussion though. I can see both sides of whether we should still be concerned about stuff. Not sure everyone has that opinion and I know some are just fed up with it all. I still find it of interest. Things like the shares not being given over - this isn’t just about now, it’s a longer term thing. Same with questioning stability of finances for full time football. Look at Wotherspoon to what can happen there. Folk arguing about football camps are missing a wider point potentially.

A lot of my posts/input on here stems from what we were sold and what’s happened since. 10 guys all with an equal say and the best interests of the club at heart. I know of the guys who have gone but don’t know them personally. I don’t know of PH either btw. I don’t think he lives in the town and don’t believe he was a supporter. Don’t think he needs to be btw but the ones that have gone are the ones we saw and heard speak at the outset and are also the ones we view as being out and out supporters so that’s a worry for me. PH, DFC and the Trust were all very convincing that this was a new era with a set up that would prevent one person having complete control and how this was the best way forward etc. Blue sky thinking perhaps but that’s fact. That happened. We’ve moved away from it very quickly and despite numerous resignations from the Board the club didn’t feel the need to comment. That’s unusual. We have people now backing the Board without question (and that’s their prerogative and right) but that were strong believers in the consortium and backed the individuals that have now walked. Fair enough if it’s just a case of being battle weary and fed up however I’d just like some communication to explain things. That’s not tin foil hat thinking surely?

I see this Trust issue as the fall out of a power struggle. I don’t see how pushing an organisation away that contributes financially makes sense (FFIT club is £8k for instance - that’s a lot surely for us and is recent income - not sure that equates to a free meal ticket). If the club want more money as alluded to above then get back round the table and talk to them. Ask for it!

Both sides need to work together here, could a solution be:

    1. Trust commit to £x going to club or Y amount of events over the course of a year where income generated is for club (part of that happens though already?)

    2. Club gives Trust shares

    3. Trust become involved in and/or part of this new community Trust

2 is likely needed, 3 was mentioned last night.
