  1. Its great that Turnbull has knocked back C*ltic. However... I don't understand all these comments about where Turnbull would have played at Celt*c and whether he would have got a game. He's better than Christie or Rogic so he'd have got a game ahead of them!
  2. That isn't true at all. David Marshall is very experienced. Greg Taylor was only playing because Robertson and Tierney were injured. Both got their first caps in their teens. Charlie Mulgrew is very experienced. Scott McKenna's only had 2 full season's of first team football with Aberdeen. He got his first cap in his first season full season. McTominay only emerged this season. This was Kenny McLean's first season in England and he was injured for a large chunk of it. Ryan Fraser made his Scotland debut in the same season that he started playing regularly for Bournemouth. Forrest is experienced with 28 caps. Armstrong got his first cap in the same season that he established himself as a regular first choice at Celtic in the number 10 role. Current, experienced regular EPL players such as Snodgrass, Ritchie & McArthur have all retired as has Scott Brown.
  3. Ryan Fraser wasn't playing regularly in the EPL when Strachan was manager. Strachan played guys like Snodgrass, Ritchie and Forest on the wings when he was manager. None of them were dad's army 30 somethings. Its a complete myth that Strachan filled his side with ageing players. He gave Andy Robertson his first cap at the age of 19, he gave Tierney his first cap at the age of 18 FFS!
  4. Norman Whiteside was selected for the Northern Ireland 1982 World Cup squad at the age of 16 after 2 first team appearances for Man Utd. He made his debut in that tournament aged 17 years and 41 days and started every game as Northern Ireland qualified from their group, beating hosts Spain 1-0 despite playing for 30 mins with 10 men. They were a win away from the semi final. He became a regular in the Man Utd side the following season at the age of 17, playing 57 games and scoring 14 goals. If you're good enough then you're old enough.
  5. I've already told you, I'm not a Kilmarnock fan. So, no, I wouldn't travel to watch Kilmarnock. My original post was purely in relation to your almost perfect description of swivel eyed fans of Sevco Football Club (founded 2012).... plenty of whom come from Kilmarnock!
  6. Your illiterate and incoherent reply kinda makes my point I'm not a Kilmarnock fan by the way
  7. Why would the smiles be wiped off the faces of fans of Sevco Football Club (founded 2012) in this scenario?
  8. Which would seem perfectly reasonable to me. If the club and player decide to take a chance for the cup final then that is their prerogative. They pay his wages. But you surely can't expect them to take a chance on his fitness for an international?
  9. Did he not actually have an absolutely shocking second half of the season at West Brom in 12/13 which continued on to the start of 13/14? Depends on what you would label as "shocking". They finished in 8th position, the highest they've managed in the past 38 years! They won 30 points in the first half of the season and 19 in the second half. If they'd won only 19 in the first half of the season it would still have been enough to avoid relegation.
  10. In his first season at West Brom, they finished 8th, their highest finish since 1981. He set club records for highest number of wins (14) and points (48) in a Premier League season. During that season, they won 4 consecutive league matches in a row for the first time since 1980. He was named Premier League manager of the month in November 2012. He was effectively sacked by West Brom the following season in December whilst sitting 16th in the table. Look where they are now! He took the Reading job half way through a season, saved them from relegation and got them to their first FA Cup Semi Final in 88 years, only losing 2-1 to Arsenal after extra time. He was sacked half way through the following season after talking to Fulham about taking over at Craven Cottage. So he only ever had one full season as a manager in England and his record in that season was exceptional. In his 3 other half seasons, he managed a 16th placing in the Premiership, saved a club from relegation and got them to an FA Cup Semi Final. Allied to his record at Kilmarnock and his assistant manager experience at Newcastle, Chelsea, West Ham and Liverpool, he is by far the best candidate. And while I'm at it, I always thought it a disgrace that Clarke won only 6 caps for Scotland while Tom Boyd won 72. They were both at Chelsea at the same time for a short period and whereas Clarke established himself as a regular and played over 300 games, Boyd was papped out after 6 months in a swap deal for Tony Cascarino!
  11. I disagree. I think Stevie MacLaren's record was decent.
