Is he a c**t of a human being though? Very 'Celtic' minded but you would expect that, came across as a very arrogant Celtic manager but that's just something that comes with the roll. A c**t of a human being seems a tad harsh.

I would be happy if he came here, not that he is though.

Have to agree with Johnny regarding the above, tad harsh.

We did after all welcome and employ Govan season ticket holders in Neil McCann and John Brown.

    East coast regards.

  2. Unless I've slipped into a parallel universe, which is quite possible tbf and preferable , I cannot recall in my 46 years of visiting Dens Park the playing surface being in such a permanently poor winter condition.

Surely the existing under-soil heating system could be utilised to counter balance the excessive residual ground moisture content and thereby assist with the natural drainage. Lesser clubs get by using simple pitch coverage assisted by gas/electric hot air blowers. I've certainly seen over the years far harder winters locally than this one.

One thing is for sure, the groundsman does not become poor at his job overnight, hence I would have to assume there are conflicting internal issues we are not aware of.

I can’t think of any other manager in a post match interview that admitted he didn’t know it took to 80 minutes + before his team had their first shot on goal.  You’d think he’d know details like that, surely?

Sneaky suspicion that may have been the November 2019 game last season at Dens against United in which we were completely outplayed and only lost 0-2.

Quite a few in the sell out home crowd would have missed it as we were queuing to get out, myself included, absolutely dire.

Not so long ago Neil McCann was given the target of top six, fast forward and we may not even achieve top six in The Championship under James McPake..

Astonishing John Nelms' has not acted as yet.

Not if I loved the club and that’s the very point I’ve been trying to make.  Dundee are simply an employer to McPake.  They made him an offer and he thought of himself first and foremost.  Nothing wrong with that but please let’s not pretend he loves the club or that he puts the club first and foremost.

In addition to above and to answer your question directly I’d like to think I’d have the common sense to play the long game and only make the move into management once I knew I was ready to do myself and the club justice.  As it stands McPake will never again manage another club of a decent level once Nelms finally accepts he’s made yet another managerial mistake.  If  only McPake had stopped and thought a little before accepting the offer from Nelms he could have matured and grown into management.

Agree Shadow, just like the previous two incumbents Neil McCann and Jim McIntyre (with or without Wm. Dodds), now both unemployable as managers in general.

The common denominator, Mr Nelms decision making and unwillingness to act and accept responsibility for a mistake.

Great backers of our club are Tim Keyes and John Nelms for which we should always be grateful, however please seek professional advice in this line of business before the situation deteriorates beyond reasonable repair.

    Concerned regards.

  5. A few posters have highlighted how our displeasure at this increasingly alarming and embarrassing situation would be clearer if crowds were present in the stadium.

I'm not overly convinced, how often is John Nelms actually present on match-day?

An announced boycott of a home match stream to raise awareness of fan displeasure would appear to be only option available to assist with James McPake's removal.

If Nelms' retains the current inept manager for next season, we WILL be relegated to League One. We're currently only 3 points above the relegation play-off after 14 games this season!

Continue as is, we are fvcked.

Thankfully my deetv is playing up and won't let me in to see this pish.

Personally I've got the wife's Stoke City on stream, not willing now to watch/pay for this pish whilst James McPake's still in office.

Some posters hinting how do we get the message across to John Nelms?

Simple, not one stream of the home game on Tuesday, that includes season ticket holders.

    Love that.

Teletext was class aswell. 302 for the football scores.

Remember punching the glorious trio of numbers in to find out Steven Milne had scored a late double at Rugby Park to complete a turnaround from 2 0.

    Happy 21st!

    Thank you.

Crikey, you're too kind, 21st and all the rest. First game I saw as a kid Thomson Allan was still in goal.

If only I knew at 21 what I know now though, there again however it wouldn't change being a Dee!

    Thank you.

Adamczuk and Piotr Czaczowski from Eintracht Frankfurt and Legia Warsaw respectively.

I can remember their debuts. Piotr was a more cultured type, always available to take the ball whereas Darius was more explosive. He only returned because the club we sold him to didn’t pay up iirc. All very strange in the Dixon era.

There was another Pole (at least I think he was) Dragutin Ristic - a pretty exciting and skilful centre forward.

Remember him @this charming man, @day of the lords and @big mouth strikes again?

Yeah, not sure he was Polish either, Croatian maybe?

Recall him scoring in a derby draw at Tannadice, also a long range lob at Dens in a win against Hearts I think.

Did he not end up at United?

I vaguely remember that happening. It was generally a weird time when Dixon was there. He made some totally leftfield decisions and almost ended up bankrupting the club. I remember Duffy being nearly in tears after the Coca Cola Cup semi win over Airdrie because the money from the final would keep the club going.

I also recall being told that Jim Duffy contributed some of his own personal cash to ensure players' wages were met after Ron Dixon had removed all financial support to the club. I think this was during a period when a consortium, including Duffy were attempting to purchase the club.

Like Fifespud I also used to frequent The Fort back in the day and remember one weekend shaking Duff's hand and wishing him well even though he'd just resigned to take the Hibernian job. Needless to say alcohol had been consumed by that point I'm afraid.

Great player and a good guy by all accounts.

  11. Who would be chosen in your own squad, these five collectively courtesy of Neil McCann era, and yes I include the soft lad who slithered off to Govan?

Or only one of these three titans below in your squad, answers please on a postcard to assist James McPake with his ongoing personal managerial development.

Don't like MacKay, first sniff of trouble at the original admin, and he was the quickest to bail, out the door faster than Asghar at an all you can eat buffet.

Agree Biggie, first and foremost, very poor coach/manager, as proven rather swiftly at Stirling Albion. Also recall a cup game I think at Dens around 2007 when he returned with Livi, game level and went to extra time after which we won on pens, however his reaction to the home support after scoring in the shoot-out marked his card for me. Clearly an idiot retaining no level of substance to his character whatsoever.

Also tonight, tuned into the last 8 or so minutes to Hearts captivating draw at QOS on the laptop. Another fucking idiot would appear to be Gary MacKay-Steven, spitting every time the camera landed on him following his any involvement.

Forget the Dirty Arab b*****d equation, this fellow is a dirty-thick-b*****d considering we're still in the middle of a Covid-19 pandemic for goodness sake!

His parents and coach must be so proud.

  14. If the current points return of an average 1.5 per game continues to the end of the season and the performances in general do not improve, maybe John Nelms will have a real wake up call when he surveys the Season Ticket uptake for next season. They're really getting off lightly on so many levels considering the fact supporters are not currently present at games.

If this season continues in the same vein, a third season under James McPake is completely unthinkable and today yet another available competent manager accepts a position elsewhere.

Respect to the Americans for the financial backing however their commitment really deserves better. It's all in their own hands though.
