So now you think you know how the contracts of the players at Pollok are worded? Clearly you're either a genius or an imbecile - I wonder which?

Ffs, what do you not get, it’s f all to do with the wording, it’s all about the start date. So wonder no more my friend.

    Oh dear, another dimwit.

Players are contracted to be paid from the first competitive game, NOT from any specific date. What's so hard to understand about that?

You my friend are the dimwit, and a well known one at that. What do you think start dates on contracts are for? Maybe they just put them in for a laugh?

But if the contract says payments are from the first competitive game until the final competitive game I don’t see what the clubs are doing wrong. Ethically it might be wrong but certainly not from a legal standpoint.

The contract becomes effective from the date it says it starts, it doesn’t matter what clauses clubs put in. Clubs are effectively breaking the terms of the contract by not paying from the start date.

This is my fear - that they start the season hoping only one or two games are behind closed doors and then Wee Nippy comes along and moves the goalposts but the season has then started so they have to continue.

Clubs need to get real, the restrictions are in place for a reason, nobody is doing it to piss clubs or fans off.  I’ve heard loads of clubs saying we need fans, but I’ve yet to hear one saying we are definitely not starting without them. Either come out and make a definitive statement or stop bitching about it.

Where is this rule so we can read it?

You will be aware that following an increase in coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the West of Scotland, additional restrictions have been introduced for people living in Glasgow City, East Renfrewshire, Renfrewshire, East Dunbartonshire and West Dunbartonshire. Further information is available here.

All clubs playing under Phase 3 Scottish FA guidance (non-testing) based in one of the areas with restrictions as noted above should only play friendly matches against other clubs within their respective local authority area.

What a shambles, the rumours and misunderstanding flying about tonight.

Surely somebody can confirm that two team within 25miles and both areas without restrictions can play??

What difference does it make what council area you are in.

You will need to ask the SFA that, they made the rule.

Was down the Palace grounds in Hamilton yesterday and counted 4 adult teams doing pre season with absolutely no sign of social distancing, players drinking out of the same bottle and car sharing to go home. Expect that’s happening all over the place and won’t go unnoticed by the powers that be I suspect

These teams are as every bit culpable as Aberdeen and Celtic, moronic behaviour.

But wait everyone is jealous of Darvel.  Couldn't make this nonsense up.

A club who have won nothing,

Threatened legal action to get promotion.

Disgraceful committee men now ex committee men.

    Breaking pandemic laws multiple times.

Most cringeworthy social media posts from everyone involved in the club from top to bottom.

The list goes on and on yet everyone is jealous 🤣

Egomaniacs in own little bubble who are totally clueless on how much of a pigs ear they have made of everything when they are long gone it will take years to repair the clubs reputation thats if it ever can be repaired.

You mention Darvel more than anyone, they are living rent free in your head.

People know all of this. They don't need to be treated like weans and given a slap on the wrist when all they are doing is working around the provisional dates that have already been provided.

When Government guidance comes out, and they say you can only play a game if you do X, Y & Z, clubs will know their provisional game can/can't go ahead based on the guidance given. Don't arrange provisional friendlies early, then you could end up without a game IF we get the green light for the provisional dates already provided and most of the other clubs already have games lined up.

Football just wants something to look forward to. Or we could just continue to tip toe around the Scottish Government and be scared to annoy then and continue to be depressed....

The problem is that some clubs need to be treated like this, some are still not following guidelines!! They are as much to blame as Aberdeen and Celtic.

Have to admit if Darvel are found to have flaunted the rules 3 times and have played a friendly match during this lockdown, then the Scottish Government  should come down as hard as possible..... Remember the pie man has received Government help during this pandemic  and i wonder if Ms sturgeon might be asking for it back

They haven’t, so end of your argument

God bless the SPFL / SPL and in particular Aberdeen and Celtic. The two teams, who have done more than anyone else to endanger the game in Scotland by the reckless action of some of their players get away scott free, whilst everyone else has their training cancelled until August 24th. Bring back Tom Johnston ffs....

    Nae bother, that’s the answer...ffs

If he were to comment on everything negative towards Darvel then he would never be off of P&B / Twitter. If there’s nothing negative about Darvel then people will make something up, for whatever reason. Why can’t people not just let the guy get on with football rather than trying to slaughter him or his team at every opportunity.

Probably because certain teams have realised that their position at the top is under severe threat.

All 63 Junior teams will transfer to the 4 WoSFL conference leagues.

Everything will be seeded so the small clubs will get a gate from the big guns.

    Full of shite.

    Whole thing was a con.

How could that be guaranteed when it was an application process?

Brechin weren't lobbying . Because of their current situation of where they attract players from  and also from a geographic perspective , it made perfect sense to ask the possiblity of joining the LL should they be in that position . Brechin never threatened anyone. Whether or not any threats were made by any SPFL member  is a different matter. The SPFL categorically deny any such conversation and the LL chairman watered down  his initial statement and finished  with the words , make of that what you want. ..........which is hardly conclusive.

So changing a rule half way through a season Is acceptable? Why did Ken not propose this at the start of the season, is it because his club were in the shit?
