  1. Great showing from County at HT. Well look intent on pressing through us and peppering our goal with speculative shots, but barring a couple of dodgy moments from our defence, we have managed to deal with them easily enough so far.

Interesting to see what subs will be made in the second half. I’d personally like to see Mullin on for Erwin, and possibly a run out for Kelly should we be comfortable enough in the game.

Still feel that Well can hurt us in the Box, but they look a yard off so far

  2. Watching the Premiership games from this weekend, I can’t help but feel that there needs to be a team that constantly presses and pushes the opposition to make quick decisions and instill abit of nervousness in their players. There aren’t enough players up here with the quality to find a ball in a split second when perused menacingly by an opposition player, rather passing the ball sideways and waiting for a move to be made is the norm.

Just feel that County have the players to adopt a “Leeds” style press against the vast majority of teams in this league, and with the quality we have up top, that would hopefully mean we score more than we have been and start to instill a football ethos by which we could develop our own game over the coming game years. Motherwell are a team who I think could be really hurt by a tenacious attacking side, but what bets Ketts adopts this style?

I had a missed call from County yesterday as well. Thought it might’ve been them taking the piss and phoning me as a thankyou like all the auld fukers got as I look like an oap these days but maybe it was them just being their standard inept and not realising I’d already paid for my season ticket

Aye, speaking to a few of my mates, they’ve had the same thing as me. Not really wanting to stir the poop any more, but they also think it’s quite tinpot and offensive. And two out of the three of them actually renewed in the first week!! Very poor organisation or just blatant ignorance I guess?

  4. Anybody else has the club phoning them everyday trying to flog season tickets?? I took a call from them last Thursday regarding trying to get me to renew my ticket (which I can’t due to work taking me away from Scotland), and got a rather rude reply when I explained my reasoning.

Surely you shouldn’t have to explain why you decide to renew or not? I pay what I can to support the club in other ways, but I’m a bit bemused/offended to be honest to be treated as yet another cash cow by this “family club” 😳

He only played 20 games last season for a minging Gillingham team so he is hardly an incredible signing. Certainly not what you'd call a stand out. He struggled to get in the team most weeks!

Can only comment on what I have seen of him myself. And I saw that he was a very good player who perhaps should have been given more of an opportunity. Hence why he came to County 🤷🏻‍♂️

Wish we had kept Ricky now, one of our most consistent players over the years. Squad is shaping up nicely and think it’d be even stronger had we kept foster.

Charles cook seems like a good signing and Gills fans seem disappointed he’s gone which is usually a good sign. I have a feeling that both him and Kelly will limit Patons game time though, hopefully not!

Hopefully not, but Charles-Cook really is best used as an outright winger, which if anything should limit either Midge or Josh’s game time. I think Paton has been one of our most consistent performers, so surely won’t be moved from the starting lineup apart from injury, suspension etc?

  7. What a signing Regan Charles-Cook is! I’ve been quite critical of the inner workings of the club the last few weeks, but this is an incredible signing at this level. I watch a lot of English football, and he has been a standout in League 1 and 2 for a few years now, and has become a real fan favourite at Gillingham who are a decent solid side. A tricky athletic winger with a good turn of pace, he has been a consistent performer at that level and has contributed ample goals and assists each season.

The only negative of his play is his relatively lightweight frame makes it quite hard for him to defend against stronger wingers, so may require backup from the fullbacks. Hopefully he can work on this over the summer. An absolute class player and one I can’t wait to see in a County shirt.

Yeah, I see what you mean but i think this is something that's happening to all Scottish clubs at the moment, everyone had a season cut short, with season ticket holders prepaying for matches that never occurred.

Are any clubs repaying supporters for these sums? Is anyone ACTUALLY looking for or expecting money back, I'd be surprised if anyone is tbh?

The message about the season ticket renewal that came out about a week or so ago was a shocker imo, whoever wrote it/authorised it to go out NEEDS to get a bollocking. It was very poorly worded and created confusion about the message it was putting across, essentially direct to their customers.

Other than this last point I'm not sure what folk would have a gripe with?

Well, I understand you’re point and respect your stance on this, however I’ve spoken to a few other supporters over the season, and certainly over the past few weeks who are known die-hard supporters who have already decided that they will not renew their season ticket, and have opted not to sign up for the SA as they question where the money pumped into the club by the supporters over the years and the cash from transfers has gone, since we haven’t replaced the likes of Boyce/Naismith/Irvine at all. Add to that that other clubs around our stature (Hamilton/St Mirren/St Johnstone) have navigated these times very well, I question the authority behind the club as to how we now seem to be unstable financially?

I feel sorry to the supporters who have fallen on hard times recently and could really do with either their ST refunds or help from the club in not badgering or making them feel guilty for not signing up for the SA. THAT is how the divisions between the club and fans has stemmed.

I'm not sure what this part in bold means? Surely everyone, fans & board wish for and have ambitions of success.

The board have to facilitate success on the field, be answerable for financial expenditure and ensure that the club is a growing and viable business that others will invest in for years to come.

Is there some other unrest that I'm not aware of?

Apologies, I don’t think I put my point across in the correct way there. What I meant was in relation to the expectations from the fans around the handling of the season ticket information, refunds, communication from and within the club, etc.

I agree that there hasn’t been any discrepancies between what the fans expect and what the club aim to deliver.

  10. Changing the subject here, but how does everybody feel about this summer of fiascos behind the scene, in terms of the season ticket drama, Staggies Army, refusal of refunds, contradictions and misinformation etc? Can’t help but feel that there has been a divide between the club and the fans which has been building for a few years, and is starting to show its head in a potentially ugly way.

Not saying that there will potentially be any struggles between fans and club this coming season or beyond, but is it just me who senses that perhaps the ambitions and wishes of the fans aren’t exactly being taken seriously by the board?

  11. Ive been aware of Iacovitti for a few years now as he has been hobbling about English football for a while and, though he has a decent pedigree, he has never really struck me as the kind of player to make a huge impact up here. Don’t get me wrong, he is a decent player and can fill a gap in the squad, but wouldn’t be a noticeable improvement on what we had already.

I am surprised that we don’t seem to Ben targeting the raft of young players released by Premier League/Championship sides down south, who all now have a point to prove and face being locked out of the game. Grivosti came to us that way and has been a huge success so far!

  12. Happy with the Randall signing. Was impressed with him at Liverpool as he seemed like a player who is comfortable on the ball and had a very good work rate. Never really hit the same standard at Hearts but you can’t hold that against him, as playing for them must be more of a jail sentence than a job.

If Ketts n Co can keep him fit and hungry, I think we have a real player on our hands here...
