  1. Don was always the cheap and easy short term solution, but I just hope and pray the club have an ace up their sleeves for the summer
  2. Roy will 100% be calling up Yogi right now. His phone book only has about 5 names in it.
  3. Completely agree re Fergie. He needs to show his worth now with this appointment Nothing against Don and don’t think he’s an issue at all, just would not go giving an unproven young manager this job at the moment. Far too much on the line if it goes wrong for him
  4. Don hasn’t got the experience to take a job this big on just yet. Would prefer we go big or go home with the next manager - break away from the same old names and grab someone out of the blue. We seriously can’t be worse off than we currently are so worth a go surely
  5. We had a real chance to build something great with the League Cup winning squad, but that was torn apart in favour of a couple of decent pay days. Even those deals weren’t exactly financially beneficial to us on the surface, as none of the money raised went back into the team hence our struggles since then. I am not saying that the likes of Jackson Irvine and Liam Boyce would have stayed had an offer been tabled of course, but to lose them and not replace them with quality replacements has been a huge part of our turmoil. We still haven’t truly replaced them both or even the likes of Schalk/Davies/Gardyne, just getting in dross rejects in the vague hope of unearthing a rough diamond. Dont get me started on the youth academy as well, which seems to be a thing of myth as no players ever seem to make it to the first team regularly at all….
  6. I swear Adams argues with the self service machines at Tesco. Odd bloke
  7. Wander around in match day in a snazzy suit looking important and shaking hands with hospitality guests.
  8. It’s the same old song every single season for the club and it’s honestly pathetic. Smacks of incompetence and arrogance in the first degree. Pretry sure last summer we were told that last season would not be repeated and that we were to expect better going forward. This coming from CEO Of The Year?? Give me a break! Very clear that the club is rotten from top to bottom with no clear drive or direction other than just staying up. If that’s the case, what is the point on going to games hoping for a result and dreaming of a top half finish? It screams very poor business management above all else with no accountability or clue about sports management/organisation at all. They need to do so much better now, the masks have slipped and we can’t allow them to BS any further.
  9. Genuinely hate watching us these days because of these shower of charlatans. This all has gone far past the point of embarrassment now. Get Adams as far away as possible, don’t let that team bus back up the A9, tell Jordan White to report to his new job at Asda tomorrow morning, and Roy/Steven need to take a good long stare in the mirror before allowing themselves to face the wrath of the fans who pay their fair share to have a team they can be proud of. Complete joke of a club.
  10. Hearing whispers over here in Halifax NS that one of the applicants for the job is a coach for a local team, Halifax Dunbrack. Very good reputation over here, and is still quite young so could be an option to allow to develop over time. Bit of an outside choice, however has a solid track record of working with young players and developing winning sides on a tight to non-existent budget. Although the level of provincial Canadian football is not to the same level as Championship, many coaches and staff from these leagues have gone onto the MLS and Europe and done very well. Heavy emphasis on tactics and video analysis to the game here, something that may benefit Caley to actually have a plan in place and opportunity to develop the young lads better?
  11. There is no doubt that Fergie is a club legend and a nice guy, but this is the time we need to forget that and address the wider issues. I am struggling to see how we would keep hold of the likes of Dhanda, Smith, Iacovitti, Harmon etc then buy Brophy on top (which we will need if we are to do anything next season) with this current structure in place. The first sniff of cash and miserly offers will be accepted, with the money disappearing again to the back of beyond.....
  12. I'm sorry to say but realistically, we are pretty much down at this point. I simply cannot see us getting the cohesion or formation right nor do I feel we have enough mentally tough players ready to fight for the club. Saturday was a showcase of what happens when a team lacks togetherness and fight, as well as being unable to adapt well enough to compete against well organised sides. On the plus side, the Championship would provide us with a great opportunity to rebuild from the bottom, clearing out the deadwood and old thinkers who have kept us from progressing the last few years. If we get a proper Director of Football in place, new manager, refreshed coaching staff and play our young guns, then we may have a blueprint off which to build long term success going forwards. Selling Dylan Smith a la Josh Reid is not going to work. If we had any ambition, we would do all we can to keep him, make him a regular starter and show him examples of Porteous and McKenna who were older and established in the Premier League before making the big move south.
  13. Sadly there is zero chance that Roy will do the right think and sack Malky before the season is out. I also fear that he will hide behind his rose-tinted glasses yet again and cling onto the hope that the current set-up will romp the Championship without having to dip his hand in his pocket. If he does by some miracle, it will definitely be a mix of Don and Fergie - neither of which are managers as has been proven. Its been clear for the past few years that Roy doesn't care enough about winning or challenging higher in the league, and is happy to set up a nice little workplace for his mates and yes-men to congregate in the guise of a football club. Although I do think pressure should rightly be thrown towards the coaching staff, the wider questions should be asked of Roy and the board as to the direction and ambition of the club. Faffing around in the Summer to then get the fear of God in us in January has finally caught up with us. Clear direction and planning is critical right now, or we simply will struggle to get back to where we ought to be.
  14. Bradford have the financial clout to compete higher up the leagues, however have struggled to maintain a good managerial team since Phil Parkinson left a few years ago now. They are a big club down here and regularly pull in crowds of 25-30k for a League 2 match. Also able to attract decent players from League 1/Championship and keep them there too. They will also allow Derek to bring in his own type of players and build a team around their stars, without the need to sell as Morecambe definitely do. Very good move for him, and can easily see him taking Bradford up the leagues.
  15. Yeah the deal has been as good as done for a couple of weeks now. Wish him luck, he’s really built a good reputation for himself down south
  16. Just seen Derek Adams has left Morecambe to “pursue an opportunity elsewhere”. Just a shame it isn’t here.....
  17. Being seriously honest here, if this is the way the old crusty bugger wants to run his “team” and mess our fans around, let him. He will never understand the value of us supporters, and even when we turn our back on our beloved club in the name of justice and morality he will just still complain and cry wolf as he is wholly delusional, as is his Merry band of followers. At this point, I would rather us drop down a division (under perhaps fan ownership or new owners) and play decent football with a “cheaper” squad than have a new pot-luck team every season which just plays hoof ball and manages to stay up by a bawhair.
  18. To add to the point that CountyFan was making, I phoned the club this morning to enquire about how I would go about cancelling my Staggies Army membership, as I emailed the club asking however did not receive any response at all. What was most galling and disappointing to me is I got a rather rude and snippy reply regarding my query, which makes me think that the club see these requests as nothing but an administrative inconvenience and just something we are doing to mildly annoy them. Not once was there a hint of sympathy or genuine interest into the reasons both myself and many others are making a stance for the good of our morals. I can understand they may be in undated with frustrated emails/calls at the moment, but the last of expression or concern is just so lame and completely childish. I can’t help but feel like the money we have invested in the club over the last year or so has been fully taken for granted and has been viewed as a debt to the club rather than a genuine goodwill gesture. For as long as the club keep up this bitchiness and aggression towards genuine supporters, then I will happily go and take my money and custom elsewhere where it will be valued far more.
  19. Got to admit, I’m a bit confused/disappointed in Fergies statements that have been going around Twitter concerning the appointment. The way it was conveyed was that he didn’t really care about the fans concerns and just downplayed the whole thing, saying that Mackays experience and desire to do well outweighs the past. Not even a hint of a proper statement or even press conference to fully explain the decision or answer any questions regarding it. For someone who is normally completely in tune with the fans and a dependable level head in the club, it seems he is either completely blinkered to the whole situation, or perhaps feels like we will forget about it next week. Either way, completely baffling to me.
  20. I honestly can’t believe that some have the mindset whereby they are comparing whether a drug dealer or a racist is worse. Utterly unbelievable behaviour
  21. The SLO can only do what he can with regards to this, and by no means has the deciding say on this appointment. I know for an absolute fact that he would be just as frustrated and disappointed by this appointment as the rest of us, however as we have seen and experience ourselves this club listens to nobody but themselves. We have a fantastic SLO who is doing all he can to relay our thoughts, however he will be under intense pressure just now himself. I wonder if emailing the club directly will get any further to any answers, however I reckon the generic email or blocking will be more likely in response
  22. For the “local family club” County to purportedly go ahead with this appointment despite its so-called “morals and values” is just completely sickening, yet comes at no surprise at all. For the last few years, it’s been alarming the rate of the decline the club has gone through, both from a footballing and operational point of view. Time after time, decisions have been made with almost clockwork dependency with either no fan I put or completely ignoring the views of those who continue to support the club despite all the frustrations. For the last couple of years at least, I have experienced quite the animosity and despondency from a large portion of the Fanbase, stemming mainly from the numbing dictator Uncle Roy and his team of happy-clappers. It’s blindingly obvious what the common denominators are behind our troubles, yet nothing -absolutely nothing- has been done to address it. Change is required pronto, and we fans have to drive this now. I’m not meaning this to come across as an overreaction, however if Mackay does indeed get appointed, I will seriously reconsider whether my values align with the club these days, which is a very sad and humbling thing after decades of support.
  23. Just watched the highlights from yesterday after the fourth game I refused to watch due to growing depression every time the team takes to the pitch. Albeit there were a couple of promising passages of play in the second half, we were nowhere near as aggressive or organised as we have to be to beat a decent team like United. Tactically and motivation wise, we looked confused and overcomplicated, with players often looking for others to be in areas where they would be left exposed on the inevitable counter attack. Sadly I don’t think Kettlewell has anywhere near the brains or smarts to see this and make the necessary changes. We need a change to a manager who can motivate the boys and play a high-tempo, pressing attacking style of play which would see us dominate the midfield and use our obvious talent up front. Also chuckled to myself Yesterday when reading Ketts interview in the P&J. Seems to think we are capable of Top 6 this season. Surely he can’t be that blinkered?! Top 6 in League 1 at a push is all this team can manage under this leadership.
  24. David De Gea has really been impressed by Stuart Kettlewells style it seems
