  1. I’ve been saying for months that Fraser has seemed to have been poorer recently and his form hasn’t been that of a Captain. I’ve no doubt he does have the ability his status and reputation suggests, however he’s been way off it recently. Maybe a turning point yesterday? I can live in hope though
  2. Can’t make the game today. Any updates? How are we looking in comparison to the previous couple of games?
  3. Half time assessment: Firstly apologies for my rather passionate appraisals throughout this first half. The lon and short of it is that this performance so far has been absolutely woeful. Like James Corden levels of woeful. Pathetic perhaps. Livi are playing in the mercurial all white of Real Madrid and the great Leeds United and, frankly, nobody would blinked twice if we were in fact playing against Ramos, Marcelo, Bale etc. All Livi goals have come from poorly conceded set pieces and well taken by their hungry attackers against a defence that accurately resembles The Imbetweeners at the moment. Marcus Fraser I'm afraid has been about as much use as Will down the right this half, looking more like an accountant than an elite (haha) footballer. Not able to string two passes together, we have been completely swamped by Livi as they actually look somewhat able to play this "football" thing. must add that Stewart is looking like a man possessed in trying to gee up the plebs he is forced to play with. Must feel like a demotion for him today. Poor guy. Second half to come but in all honesty it would take Jesus himself to turn up up front for us to have any chance to Of getting anything from this. Unless his name is Simon Power....
  4. Substitution: Off - Starting 11 On - My Sunday league team
  5. Anyone heading to the Foo Fighters after the game today? If so, the city centre was heaving yesterday for The Cure so I'd recommend using the subway if possible to get over. Walking is also achievable from Partick but it's a hell of a long way. It's going to be carnage in the city centre unfortunately
  6. Wonder if Zeus will return again? Not seeing him start for Panathanaikos lately...
  7. Thought he was a RB but could be mistaken? Good news about Power and Erwin though. I highly rate both and they should offer us an even better chance of outing our chances away this season finally!!
  8. Indeed, but in terms of improving their game and moving to a higher standard of football, I don't think that League 1 or half of the teams in the Championship down south are any better than the Premiership up here. You could argue that it gives players a bigger chance to be spotted by Premier League teams but can you name the last time one of those teams recruited directly from L1/2? Perhaps if you are a teenager with good potential, but not an established player from up here
  9. I have to say I agree, however the business side of me suggests that if Roy and indeed the club as a whole are serious about cementing ourselves in the Premiership and building a solid foundation to mount challenges for silverware regularly, then Josh is exactly the type of player we should do all we can to keep. Yes, half a million or whatever is a big sum for a club of our size, but none of our players who have moved south have exactly become stars. Plus we will need tricky wingers for the Champions League......
  10. Our finishing even last season was pretty poor at times, even though we scored plenty. We are a team that are prone to over working our chances at times. Last week we seemed to have it sorted though so time will tell if we will get it sorted
  11. County on any other given day would have won this by at least three goals. Hearts have been lucky. Seems like County have continued their form from last season and look a genuine threat.
  12. Bobby Zlamal is a horrendous keeper. Colin Doyle is by far the more composed player. Madness to start him.
  13. We could honestly be 4 or 5 up by now. Poor finishing and wasted chances meant we haven't scored yet. The Hearts keeper is one of the worst I've seen in a while. We have been playing well and look the better side for most of the game. We just need to start taking our chances and we will be winning these games comfortably. Promising signs though.
  14. It will also be good to see my good friend Colin Doyle in goal against Hearts, if indeed he does get a game. A great keeper and someone I was surprised we didn't consider as an option for first choice this season. Could be a good option if Baxter does not return north?
  15. Have we ever been in such a position where we have been blessed with such talent and form in depths within the squad? There does not seem to be a weak link at the moment and the positivity around the club is palpable. All the good omens are there for us to have a great season and really cement ourselves in this league, but it will take a large commitment from a Uncle Roy to keep hold of this squad for more than another season. As for Hearts, I reckon we will start with a Graham/McKay front line. Very harsh on Big Ross as he has been in tremendous form recently, but as stated earlier we need a bit of bully and graft up front and Brian certainly offers that. Also Hearts are very flat footed when it comes to playing the ball low and fast in and around the box, so to have two strikers who thrive on low balls and playing it on the deck, we should have more than ample opportunities to punish their defence.
  16. Nice of Accies to send the young lads at Hamilton Academy and a few local bampots up to play us today. Let them see what a proper Premiership team looks like hahaha
  17. That's a bit concerning in all honesty. Could it be a knock on effect from Tractor being under huge pressure from their FA and FIFA for financial irregularities etc? Kinda feel for Lee if clearance hasn't been recieved yet
  18. Is Power in contention for tomorrow? Not seen anything concrete to say either way
  19. What a great second half performance that was. Played exactly how I said we should to exploit Carlisle and even had the welcome surprise of Kenny demolishing anything that stood in his way down the left. Power was brilliant for the half hour or so he was on; pace, trickery and end product was all there as well as a very well taken goal. His injury is worrying though, but going by the performance today from the team, we should feel confident going into next week. Just want to also mention that I am currently travelling back home with a few Carlisle fans who are raving about how good a team we are. Say we are by far and away the best team they have faced over the last couple of summers and they loved their time up here. Seems we have a few new Staggies
  20. Honours even at Half time. Both teams trying to play their own brands of football but neither really managing to pull anything off. Defensive mistakes and hesitations nearly gifted them a couple of chances. We also seem to be hisitsnt in moving the ball forward and choose to move it sideways instead much to frustration. Ruddy has made a couple of decent saves but looks a bit of a loose cannon at times. We need to perform much better in the second half
  21. Good point. From what I've seen, the best way to play against them would be to utilise our pace and quality on the ball and just sit picking out space inveteeen their lines and get the likes of Midge/Mullin/Billy on the ball. They did have a couple of big lads in the midfield who would bully us at the high balls. If we sit too deep and don't exploit their defence then it's entirely useless as they will steal a cheap goal guaranteed.
  22. I think Carlisle will provide a quality test for us tomorrow. I managed to catch a few of their games last season whilst down working and they like to play a high pressing, quick counter attacking game. It's very hard to compare their quality with teams we know, but at a guess I would say they would be a Dundee United style of team; good players, hard working but just perhaps not quite good enough defensively to play in s higher division. Top fans too so should be a good game.
  23. I thought they were well organised and solid enough in the key areas to cause us a reason to be cautious. There was no standout players, although no.s 7 and 3 linked up well and looked to have a bit of go about them. Offered nothing of real note but should do well again this season
  24. What was that performance?! Seemed really stale and like we didn't know how to approach the game in the first hlf. Grew slowly into a rythym in the second half but slack passing and overcomplocating the simple things meant that we didn't score more and made Forfar believe in themselves that bit more. Very impressed with Paton and his range of passing and confidence. He could be our next Lindsay. Vigurs off pace and erratic; not confident his head is fully in the game yet. Power looks promising but didn't once call for a pass and instead looked for the ball to find him. Will develop into a great talent though for sure. Morris looks solid. Big improvement required for Saturday!
