Maybe its just my interpretation of the statement, yet i reckon it indicates that Potter's not going to be in charge next season. The fact they have even released a statement (which i argued that they should have) shows that they're aware that the fans aren't happy with the management team. Secondly, they have expressed that they're "deeply disappointed with the league position" and that "a full review and assessment process is already under way", which suggests that they're looking at candidates for the job. To think that what is (in my lifetime anyway) the worst Pars team of all time...still managed to beat Raith.

So for next season we're currently looking at... Airdrie (barring an unlikely Brechin collapse) Albion Rovers Dunfermline Peterhead Stenhousemuir/Ayr Would like to see Stranraer and Morton both go up. Not really fussed who comes down from the Championship, although the prospect of having to go to Central Park sends shivers down the backs of every Scottish football fans bodies. Leaning towards Stenhousemuir hopefully avoiding the play offs, as despite Ayr being our bitches, Stenhousemuir is a relatively close game and if Ayr went down, it would be one less trip to the west. Arbroath coming back up in their place would be decent.

Cheers for the information, yet that is disappointing stuff. So if we can't afford to pay compensation, that leaves Derek Adams and Allan Johnston. With the position we are in, the board should be sounding these guys out right now about the job since we have nothing to play for, rather than waiting until the end of the season when another club or two might snap them up and we'll be left with awful alternatives.

Calderwood was a good manager for us, however nowadays i fear he would be like Jefferies. For me, its important that our next manager should be someone whose young yet has experienced managerial success. Bollan is a good shout, yet the issue with him is that he's under contract with Airdrie until 2016 and we aren't in a position to fork out compensation money, so i very much doubt he will be considered. Also i agree with you in regards to the potential issues with Potter going back to working with the U20s. I am not convinced that will work, yet the board should leave that decision up to the new manager. Edit: Just checked Aitken's contract status and according to this he's under contract until 2016 ( if so), http://spfl.co.uk/news/article/aitken-extends-stranraer-stay/ , yet according to other sources he's only contracted until the end of this season? Need some clarity on that one.

I would be happy with either Adams, Aitken or Johnston. Question marks linger over Aitken though, as you allude to about his other job, plus the possibility that he could well be managing Stranraer in the Championship next season. Have a feeling that we missed the boat with him as i reckon we had a better chance of getting him when Jefferies left. For me though, those three are the most obvious candidates for the job.

Noticed he was mentioned by a couple of Pars fans on here as a candidate for our next manager, yet Danny Lennon has taken over at Alloa.
