  1. Absolutely SLC. 8th was always THE target, as i'm sure it is/was for half the league. Its all very well some fans pointing at results which suit the idea that we've 'made it', but Dumbarton certainly didn't look like a team with delusions of grandeur, in fact, they out-Clyded us and Duffy out-Lennoned Danny. On a footballing level, we're in danger of dining out on scudding Falkirk, while ignoring the bread and butter. Even the Cup and its potential fruits of beating (stop laughing qt the back!) Rose is beginning to look like a pain in the arse we could do without, priority-wise. Yet another lesson from 2017 that has gone unlearned, if it turns out like that season did. AGM/GE-wise, this is an unprecedented time of vital importance for many, and for many different reasons. It's a good time to bury frankly insignificant matters surrounding a members club with 335 listed patrons, and even more so when very few of them have raised a question about any of these before now. I see no reason for that to change, when much worse events in recent memory went completely unanswered whatsoever. At least its not the Lowland for 10th in this league. To whom should we be glad of that, i wonder!!
  2. Let's not be vague, Sydney. What could possibly be of importance in club matters, as things stand, that requires its own standalone position in the calendar? You're not suggesting the decision of the date's an accident, surely? It looks anything but that to me.
  3. Are the commentators actually alright? Mentally, i mean? They sound like a cross between Mice and Men's Lenny, and Boxer from Animal Farm, playing the club narrative to the seemingly dwindling numbers left listening to them. The "sun in eyes" wasn't preventing us successfully and easily defending the often overhit, and even more frequently aimless crosses along our box. They should also check up on their offside, and maybe too keep an ear out for who replaces whom from the bench. I really couldn't care less, and about Falkirk's fate, like the vast majority of us i'm sure. It's an attitude for which is why East Fife, Montrose and Peterhead fans are the only ones in L1 who actually virulently loathe us for not joining in their L2 diddy club pity party, however these clowns carry your club stamp. Their visceral fantasism along with butchering the language are two core reasons for your total meltdown, thus landing you on our mantlepiece until February. Just let us know if you want the heating turned up or down.
  4. Why does that not surprise me, guy thinks he fucking Buffon. Attitude stinks Im afraid this is correct, a superb goalie when his career mattered to him but frankly anyone in his position signing for EK, Kelty or such like are finished as serious footballers. We dodged a bullet, if indeed any were fired in pursuit of him. Sad but true.
  5. Hangover slowly calming down, and by Christ was that not a simply brilliant performance by everyone in a white or green shirt. Lashings of cream going on top of today's humble pie in regards to Smith, i was rather harsh given he had an unenviable job replacing Goodie, then Love- he looked himself yesterday playing HIS game, and the goal- wow. Less than two years of Danny Lennon, from home trashings off Elgin to outplaying and outclassing Falkirk, twice. Great days.
  6. We only ever did get one side of the story, to be fair. Given that two of the protagonists were both ex-Clyde players, having funnelled swathes of used notes into the coffers in the pursuit of tapping into the player-sales market under a badly-chosen previous manager, i find it hard to believe they'd wish any remnant of our history being terminated. They also now have a direct route into the league, anyway.
  7. A few were in favour especially when the relationship with North Lanarkshire was at its lowest. Most were dead against especially when "EK Clyde" was suggested as a name change. At B/wood for the long term now. Eh....not according to the vote in April 2013, they weren't. Poor attempt at revisionism.
  8. The Lyon-Cuddihy conundrum, if both deployed on the right side for me would be to have Lyon in the front, covering and tucking in as per needed. His best game (like several) imo was the Edinburgh 1st leg, albeit at right back, but for balance it would stiffen us up a bit. That also opens the question of Johnston's place, as he comes into good form. It's looking good, so far.
  9. Aren't some of those "fans in the stands", among the harshest critics in both audio and pixel form when it's deserved? In several cases, it was, for both players and management. We were getting utterly rode, and the team has been tightened up significantly since the obvious gaps were being pointed out. We should be thanked, not counter-shouted down. Are people afraid of open discussion? Any more than two is an assembly... If i'd pick an individual to have had an effect on plugging these holes i'd offer Chris McStay, who has again found a balance with Prince Raymond none other frankly can come close to. Until his full return, Grant manfully soldiered on but was using a waterpistol in a swordfight, particularly at Raith Rovers away. It took us until November to pair them consistently last season, so there's that. The confidence a defence can have in good retention is invaluable.
  10. First off, a good result to get (obviously) if at times dogged which puts a higher value, for me, on the win itself. Outfighting and outrunning will acquire us points where they might be unexpected, but i'm afraid Dumbarton don't fit that category one bit. I felt prior they were bang average, Duffy's fifty shades of beige clearly stamped upon them, and absolutely there for the taking. First away win outwith the bottom tier in a decade aside, i don't quite understand the ongoing rapture. We passed reasonably well, and created several chances (Smith, ffs) yet could still have thrown it away, twice. If we were 'excellent', i'd be looking at us thrashing shite like that, as it's within the capabilities even without Goodwillie. If we fall in the trap of thinking that's the standard, we won't be winning on the road much. Is Steven Dobbie a proven English Premiership striker? Won promition twice, yet barely featured when with Swansea and absolutely didn't score. Similar argument, i'd say. Sao was a bit quick in shooting his load where the defence was concerned, and he's shown contrition in accepting he may be proven wrong. He's still havering on the McNiff factor, however his suggestion that more time be given is entirely in keeping with our current setup potentially becoming counter-productive. We've absolutely deserved all our accrued points, but we're going to have to open up sometime, lest we become yesterday's Dumbarton and Montrose become 'us' next week, which is as ludicrously Clyde as you could get if we arse up a chance to solidify a position ahead of Raith/Falkirk double-header.
  11. They're not the only vanity project taking willing advantage of the national status, that's for sure. Its the youth players we should feel for. They're being given a platform which to be blunt, they've never a chance in hell of finding a level at. Exploitation galore.
  12. Lennon addressed this. He explained the u21s can only be trialists. You can only register a 'trialist' once, for the established period, thus any of them playing any of eight GC games under this format is unfeasible. It also highlights that they're nothing at all to do with the club.
  13. I'm surprised (or perhaps not) at the atypically ham-fisted way these things present themselves. Albion Rovers were the club who mentioned a midnight flit of all u21 players and staff in May, specifically to Clyde, not us. There's little if any mention of it on the site, and the manner of Lennon requiring his boots again somehow only raised peckers instead of questions. In fact only Lennon himself addressed the registration factor, and the resulting swooning hordes fainting in the aisles seemed to halt any further enquiries. If they aren't contracted (and i know for a fact none of them are), then there's nothing connecting them to the football club. Should we ever, somehow find ourselves in possession of a decent youth player (Dylan Falconer is considered the best), not even a potential future development fee can be commanded under those conditions. So what's the bloody point!!
  14. I can't help feel we stuck this appeal in, just to maybe have him for Saturday. A waste of time, otherwise. I saw nothing at the game, or in the highlights, to justify reversing the decision. Malice, intent, "nothing in it" are all simply filler content, they mean bugger all. None of them were present, but he still caught him nonetheless.
  15. Imagine the nervous breakdowns if he did? It might almost be worth that alone! Nah, i jest. Bloody stupid of the bookies to stick him on the odds, tbh. Or maybe just plain ignorance, most likely. I've not looked, i'd expect Hughes to be involved though.
  16. I'm a little concerned at the levels of empathy being shown towards That Mob. We firstly should be glad McCall and as importantly Ayr settled out the package early, i've no doubt the exact same discussions over it took place between Lennon and Dishon to come to the fantastic resolution they did. Of course, this may have been done in advance of the match, making any Thistle bid futile. But why would we want them next year? We're more likely to go up than they will stay up right now. Sod hanging around for them! There's clearly a reason Mr Hankey chose to go back up the Feathered Staircase once more, Ayr are well rid imo.
  17. Haa a club ever re-employed not one, but TWO of their previously sacked managers, concurrently before? One for dipping the till (among other inanimate objects, i heard) and the other for not securing the Mankynecks place in the Prem. What a bizarre bunch. Lennon doesn't ever shirk from discussing his time among them if it's relevant (fair enough) to his pre-match Sinatra show, but surely enough memories and history have been crammed into his two years here for them to get put to bed. That, and plus the fact he clearly now can see just how he is truly viewed among Glasgow's 'numero uno' self-proclaimed "inclusive, non-religious/sectarian/political"* club. On this basis, i do hope he begins shutting up about them. That's my single only problem with anything he says or does. *Club sings of the Pope and Her Majesty, has an ageing leftist terror-loving cell and promotes the suffering of confused youth on its strip for a few Facebook likes. Toxic to the core.
  18. I'll confess to that great football enthusiast sin too. For obviously different reasons, mind. It's a glorious sight watching those fuckers implode nonetheless. Christ, i've missed the hatred. #batheinjagtears
  19. I won't fib. I was in danger of being admitted to A&E with creosote rectal dysfunction in this issue, but undoubtedly 2019's TopTrolla award goes to our manager and board. Perhaps i'll have to review my 'silence is compliance' standpoint, clearly wheels within wheels were in motion all along designed to retain the services of our manager. You got me, good.
  20. It's hardly "crucified" if a post is followed up by a question. If it were replied to with namecallings or smear tactics, then "crucified" may apply. The rumour mill is a bit of fun to quell the boredom, id expect. I mean, if anyone actually knew the bona fide, kosher truth about any matter, there'd be something seriously fucking wrong with them sharing it in the public domain after being entrusted with it, unless a matter of urgency. Signing players shouldnt really come into that.
  21. Freedom of association isn't a crime, i'm sure you wouldn't be left out of anything important. Which basically is all of the club business, really, given how the support have been 'invited' to sort out the commercial activity themselves. If that's not a "we're fucked" sign, i don't know what is. On the contrary, the belief of yours that anything you MIGHT know being in the wrong hands and considered misplaced by others, i'd suggest it only would be if it was detrimental to the club. Such as, perhaps the club being rooked, but not actually telling anyone how badly so. Purely in example, of course.
  22. Doesn't mean that it's correct. Lennon's Frank Carson routine is to entertain, not to inform. There's been more than the odd misrepresentation via this route already. Although, if people ask stupid questions etc. I'm glad there's a minumum spend, i do hope it stays to keep our lower IQ numpties out and away from him.
  23. Isn't that last line a coincidence! There's a good boy.
  24. Twitter, not my bag really. Seems a reasonable enough viewpoint, frugality versus glamour has virtually shaped over a third of the club's history to date, but i'm sure it would be in hand for us to take equally (at this point) a long-distance away day, tripled with going out of the Betfred in 5th place and also a first-tie Scottish Cup exit as part of the yearly budget. And of course, finishing tenth in L1. Seen some of the other responses up until now, to be fair it does have a slight whiff of another thing we've improved upon (it is after all a Cup run, now- we've only played 3 rounds or more in 1 Cup, once in seven years!), which can't just simply be enjoyed for what it is, albeit if borne of concern for club welfare, when taking the bigger picture into account. And we all know its always been a flying-by-seat-of-pants operation for yonks. I've made similar inroads in the past regarding club matters and why our position was as it was, like this, and it wasn't well-received in far greater halls than the pixels of PnB. At least we got a day or two to enjoy the promotion in May, i suppose.
