  1. Yeah that's a fair point. That being said though, I still think it's worth the risk of making the cost more accessible. The flip side is fans might come in at a lower cost and then consider upping their contribution if/when economic circumstances allow it. Someone much smarter than me may have more creative idea to safeguard the current subscriptions but offer a route in for fans who may be struggling to afford the current cost. The bottom line is I think FSS is doing not too bad at the moment, and we need to give it time but the more fans that join the stronger it will become.
  2. My understanding from the email I received from the FSS last night is that they're still trying to get the required amount of shares and they're holding a fan meeting in September to discuss how the FSS Continue to support the club financially moving forward. Appreciate you say FSS have apparently 'apparently' agreed for our money to go to the club without shares in return and without consultation with the members.. I would expect to be consulted, but at the same time I also didn't expect the club to keep dishing out shares infinitly. Hopefully the concerns you have can be answered at the meeting and everyone can start pulling in the same direction. My reason for suggesting lower the subscription amount is to get more fans on board with FSS and having a say on how the club is run.
  3. I accept your points, I'm certainly not trying to criticise anyone for not being a member of FSS, and I apologise if it came across the way you've taken it, not my intention it was just a quick/lazy example to help explain my point. What I'm trying to say is two things: 1. I don't think FSS currently represents the majority of the fans, attending or non-attending. I would imagine/hope there is atleast quadruple or more non-attending fans out there. 2. I think the FSS need to lower the minimum subscription as you mention yourself, £10 per person is too much in my eyes in the current climate for many fans. I'd suggest a 'give what you can afford' mantra, I'd probably go lower than £5, maybe have £1 as the minimum. £1 might seem pointless but it gets people in the door and helps not exclude fans currently put off for financial reasons, allows FSS to build their membership levels and allows as many fans as possible to have a say in how the club is run.
  4. In what way is it critical? It looks like the FSS is doing OK and holding a meeting to discuss the next steps. Don't understand your panic? And I almost do agree with the previous poster that it's just another thing to moan about rather than focusing on the positives from the latest FSS email. I've said this before and I'll say it again, FSS has around 720 members. Based on the home attendance this weekend they barely even represent a quarter of the attending fan base. I'd personally like to see the FSS lower the £10 minimum subscription and get as many fans involved and contributing as they can. Every little helps.
  5. Just a thought.. Didn't Jamie say in one of his videos the club have budgetted for a reduced level of season ticket sales? Can't remember if it was around 2,200? Considering we're at 2,500 it's hopefully helping contribute to the £400k forecasted deficit.
  6. Anyone heard from FSS lately? Haven't had an email from them since Mid-June.
  7. I'd hope the current board would get the fans view on any new significant investment that may derail FSS. That might be wishful thinking right enough. I'm a ST holder and an FSS member. I want FSS to thrive as much as anyone, I've just felt for a while it's stagnated and understandably so given the cost of living crisis and the underperforming team on the pitch. The club can't afford to stand still. Hopefully we can get a win tomorrow and get a good cup run going again.
  8. I'm not saying we abandon fan ownership. I'm saying its not taken off as well as initially hoped, given the state of the club financially and the obvious worries the club has to post about it several times in a short period of time.. I don't have an issue with other forms of investment (assuming there must be some in the pipeline). I personally, like many others, am not happy with the way the club has been run in the past. Fans were unhappy with the lack of transparency and communication.. I feel the club are trying to be more transparent here but still getting a lot of stick. All I'm trying to say is I'm not against the club considering other options just incase FSS continues to struggle.
  9. I'm hindsight I agree it's an unrealistic number. At the time I didn't think for a second we'd struggle to get even 1,000. Obviously times have been really tough on everyone and nobody could probably have seen this coming. Just trying to say I don't think we should have all our eggs in this basket given the financial situation.. As much as we want it.
  10. FSS doing well but not taking off as we'd hoped and keep comparing to similarly sizes clubs. In reality FSS represents probably less than 15% of the fan base.. If external investment is an option I don't have an issue with it (given the latest supporter update). We can't keep hoping and relying on FSS.. How long do we give it? How long can we afford to give it?
  11. I should clarify I didn't hear from anyone on the board. Also not looking for any gratification. Was just a heads up to other fans we might have a new player soon. Some folk can be really toxic on here. I won't post again.
  12. New player in the match day squad for tomorrow is what I was told. Don't know anymore than that.
  13. Probably not the topic anyone wants to be focusing on or discussing this week.. I'm curious to know if there is any chatter about contract extensions? Acutely aware some of our top players contracts are ending in May, and they'll be able to sign pre-contracts in Jan.. Assuming a couple of them are catching the eye of a few suitors.
  14. Anything above 1,000 is amazing in my eyes, especially given recent times as you mention. Absolutely buzzing for this one. Don't let us down lads. COYB
  15. Any idea how much of the allocated 2,000 tickets have sold for Saturday? Confident of a quality crowd
  16. 4 of us getting train through to Edinburgh around 11, then connecting onto Fife around 12.30. Will head straight to the bar
  17. Curious if anyone is going to the FSS event at the Elizabethan pub in Dunfermline, pre-match on Saturday?
  18. I think that day is coming. Mcglynn probably wants to give some of them a chance first. Don't think he'll have been too impressed tonight with McCann, Hetherington, Williamson or Wilson. Morrison wasn't too great either but we know he can turn it on.
  19. Most of the guys starting tonight are from last season. No great shock we struggle to break down well organised opposition. I reckon Mcglynn will be well aware of what's needed and where.. Some positives though.. Yeats done ok again, Nesbit looked up for it. Felt McKay and Mackie looked comfortable. Saying that, Williamson wasn't great, Oliver struggled and Wilson is so far out of his depth it's concerning. We really struggled to keep the ball up top. A real lack of cutting edge or creativity.
  20. If you're being honest you'd have to say we don't deserve to be above Montrose and Airdrie with the bookies. Really hope JMc can pull off a miracle.
  21. I emailed Laura and she said £5 pay at the gate. Westfield Cafe isn't open either which is a bit of a bummer. I hear your point but it does feel a bit weird the club aren't posting much about tonight.. Money to be made with ticket sales and pretty much radio silence? Maybe still issues with ticketing supplier?
  22. Whoever the number 9 was he was absolute guff.
