Vigurs and Draper both sign for Cove. Opinions on both?

Clearly Vigurs being ex captain was held in high regard. Both are pushing on a bit and hence a contributing reason as to why they are dropping down a few divisions.

Is Draper a CB or CM?

Hopefully can do a job for us in L1. Our midfield was already one of our strongest areas with Masson Fyvie Scully Ans Yule. Suspect Scully will be dropped and Vigurs will play alongside Fyvie.

Draper if a midfielder might be a regular starter. If a CB then he will play more.

Vigurs will be a good addition for you but prepare for some mental decision making when it comes to defending. Giving Draper a three year deal is so wild from you lot. Genuinely surprised he didn't injure himself holding the scarf up.

I'm not sure about that, but we're clearly stronger up front than last season.  Need another CB IMO.

One thing I'll say is Billy Dodds is superb at working with forwards and if you can get Mckay anywhere near the form he was in the season we went up you'll be in with a serious shout.

I'd imagine you'll have Duku and Mckay up front with Walsh and Midge wide?

I just listened to it there, tbh I thought it was quite a good interview. The timing of the interview, after signing a brand new backroom team is going to focus them, their attributes & the future vision. I'm not sure what others were expecting.  What's new to be said about fans, that you'd expect to be discussed in this interview?

I have no issue with the focus being on the backroom staff, but with there being a massive backlash (for our standards anyway) and for the manager himself to not address the supporters concerns is fairly disheartening considering we're still meant to be a community club. I'm not surprised by it though after Roy's comments.

The club have pretty much doubled down on that now, it won't ever be brought up.

I actually thought that the first official interview with Mackay from the club would be where it was addressed.

Notice not one mention of fans or anything like that at all. In a 14 minute interview you'd expect there to be a mention of supporters.

If the accent of the interviewer doesn't put you off, not much else will. "SHQUAD"

Around 9 minutes in, he makes a comment about "going down there" or at least I think that is what he said as the audio isn't the best, so assuming we will be looking at English players. Also sounds like the club will be utilising the loan market, but not until players are back from the Euros. It certainly doesn't look like there is going to be any imminent business, and he has admitted that it is unlikely that the side that starts the season will be the one to play just a few weeks after. The club finally seems to be getting a scouting department, or something similar. It will be interesting to see how they manage that. I imagine most would be outsourced, rather than directly employed.

Not that I can, but it certainly isn't an interview that would change my mind about getting a season ticket, then again he could say that Messi has signed and I still wouldn't watch a Ross County side with Mackay in charge. Most likely just my dislike of the guy, but there is just something off about him. Even the way he conducts himself in that interview, he doesn't look particularly comfortable.

Not one mention of the elephant in the room at all there. Totally tone deaf and frankly quite a boring interview.

  6. I  think with these kinds of signings that the risk sometimes outweighs the reward, Callachan had a relatively good season last year in a poor team. However he's been average (being generous) in much better teams. So who knows what we'll get out of him and I suppose we have to hope for the best. 3 year deal is wild though, would rather have kept Naismith than signed Callachan tbh but hope the boy does well as he works hard by all accounts.
