  1. Yeah the interview was quite something. #this is our year to like you say shouting about being a few pts from 3rd as we sit 5th. 13pts off top, 10ts off second and only 7pts off bottom. The mumblings of a desperate guy clinging onto any sort of "positive"

He asked the more vocal fans to back his management team the next few weeks, but it's too late as far as I'm concerned. If he stays we will win a few games, maybe go on a few wee runs as we have seen in past but as has been shown time & time again we ain't got it under this manager. I don't want to be proved wrong. I just want this finished and a fresh start with what I do still believe is a capable squad.

  2. I just don't get why we are waiting. The performances are so abject it's criminal to let this continue. Ian has been a fantastic chairman, but this can not go on.

Is it because we can't afford to sack him? We did give a 3 year deal but I was led to believe the notice pay off was about 3 months.

Today was awful against a really poor team, some goal right enough. They should have won the game at the end and bar a couple long rangers we created f*ck all.

The manager and more so his clown assistant Wright looking up at the fans as if we are wrong for giving a piece of our mind was embarrassing. Fraser Wright looked like he was signalling for a fight & it's not the first time, utter clown.

There has been zero connection with this management team , Wright especially is a thoroughly unlikeable guy and I hope this is the last we see of them.

  3. Are they all his signings? What is Martin Christie's role and the scouting network? Can we blame Swift solely for recruitment? I don't know if we can.
We had a decent wee run of form and got ourselves from bottom into the top 3. We're more than capable of beating any team in this league, with Swift as gaffer. Our league has 10 teams all around the same level. Albion Rovers just beat Stirling, who's wee run of form seems to be turning cold. It happens.
    Deary me
  4. I'm on the fence regarding Swift's position.
It's frustrating that we can't build form and maintain it. The inconsistency in form is being compounded by injuries and the failures of the Brown and Bryson signings. Our defensive play is lacking and sometimes I just wish I saw some passion from Swift.
That being said, I'm looking more at those on the pitch. Forbes, Higgins and Brennan could all leave in January for my liking and not be missed. We all know Forbes's qualities and weaknesses but his defensive work is costing us. Against Albion Rovers, it was costly. The amount of times a defender was pulled forward due to Forbes's defensive lapses or a cross was allowed into the box was far too often.
Would be great if we could just replace these players, however I also don't know if bringing in a new coach would improve them or their performances, many have tried with Forbes. The other two just don't have enough to improve, I feel.
I still think Swift would get more success if he would allow the players to play to their strengths. The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of an all out attack line-up : Brennan, Yeats, Crighton, Jamieson, Corbett, Brown, Miller, O'Reilly, Sewell, Yates and Orr. F*** it, our team is almost made for countering and high press, why not try it. If our defence is that shite, try to keep the ball at the other end of the park instead of asking them to to play it out and pass it around.
You seem to overlook the fact the players you have pointed out to give swift some slack are his signings. He has not proven in any way he is capable of bringing us success & I will be very disappointed if he is not gone this week.

We have some very good players, so will win games at times, and whether he is there or not I fully expect to beat a poor B Rose team on our pitch but let's be clear that in no way is a turn around.

  5. Today was pathetic. Again, goals conceded at will & biggest surprise is we scored 2 goals as we were miles off it.

I hope Iain Mcmenemy is strong as it is absolutely time to weild the axe, we under swift or Mr hanky the Xmas poo could potentially win the next cpl but it changes nothing, the money spent on the squad and current performance is completely unacceptable.

He flung sh*te at the wall at Forfar with this 3 at the back nonsense when the pressure was on big time. We got a cpl of results, and it's the formation we are seeing week in, week out with basically no impact. We are soft as f*ck.

I was really vocal today toward Swift as were most, and hopefully, the hierarchy feels the same and gets him out pronto.

  6. Am no sure I'd be too happy at a point v us against ten men after pen but last minute always feels better. Thought overall EF were better without creating too much. We got a goal from a corner with 10 men otherwise we would have lost 100%.

Thought we were OK in spells first half after EF started much better in first 10 mins. They were well ahead 2nd half even before Dan Higgins stupidity ( just let him take the shot ffs)

But like a broken record we concede about 2 goals a match and will not get anywhere whilst that continues. Swift can go any time he wants as far as I'm concerned. It's just no happening and whilst we will win a good few games as we have decent players when it comes to crunch we ain't got it.

  7. The fact his registration remains with Stenhousemuir suggests that whatever the issue is, he isn’t fit enough to play. So just like any other player with an “injury” we have to just lump it.

Of course the “injury” may not be physical.

The signings of Bryson, and now Brown, have been unmitigated disasters.
I think you have hit the nail on the head with the not "physical" comment.

It's a bizarre situation that sums Stenhousemuir up to an absolute tee.

  8. Well it was a rather dreich day in Clackmannanshire in more ways than one. Agree with the post above the step up has been a challenge after the promising start to the season. Will be interesting to see what develops in the next few weeks. Gets no easier next Saturday when we visit the League leaders.
P.S Well done to great club servant Alan Horne who gets a well deserved testimonial game this afternoon. What a class act he has been for the Rose in his time at NDP.

A "challenge" in what respect? You guys are doing exactly what any rational person would have thought. Pretty competitive but nothing great, no stand out player as such. There is no Vale of Liethen or Gretna 2008 in this league so if by challenge yous mean no pretty much gaurenteed win every 2nd/3rd week then aye. A toughie right enough.
