  1. It does seem like he is over complicating things, maybe thinks he is some sort of pioneer in the lower leagues. Has a feeling of the "booth" era about it. A guy over thinking & overloading with nonsense.

Success in these leagues while there may have been exceptions generally come from just doing the basics right, Part Time training being "fun" & something to look forward to but by his own words it looks like we are doing lots of data/video analysis which clearly isn't working.

It is right to say you point to these things when things not working but it's just looking for answers really. Maybe we overestimated the squad in terms of just how good but at the same time you go through it and there just no way it's as bad as we are showing so it has to be the manager & whatever he is doing imo.

  2. Nobody really gives a crap what you think, so yeah move on as in to your own part of the forum would be ideal all round.

I know It's tough for you guys just now, I won't take the tone of your message personally Al. Take it easy mucker.
  3. There is no solution. We have appointed a manager who has assembled a squad of youngsters who are clearly out of their depth and don’’t have the quality to perform at Lowland League level. I’m sure that Cowden can’t afford to sack Ross so we are stuck in a cycle of decline. I have supported Cowden for 45 years but there comes a point when you just can’t face it anymore. My ultimate solution is to stop moaning like a moody teenager and find other interests away from football. You seem to find Cowdenbeath fascinating for some reason much like the Stenny troll who haunts the clubs threads. Good luck to Stenny. Hopefully they will win a league title before you pop your clogs.
    Deep breaths....

    Big inhale

    Then a..

    Big exhale

Repeat at least how many times Cowden have won a league title, you should feel better.

  4. As bad as Scott Walker was, let’s not forget he wasn’t alone.

Brennan isn’t our biggest problem but again looking at the 1st goal he was doing his best Superman impression.

But Sean Crichton has to take his share of the blame particularly as captain of a team that is so low on confidence. He missed his header at the 2nd goal yesterday and last week it was his mistake that lead to Higgins red card with another missed header. His performances are reminiscent of that game at Stranraer last season, which yesterday didn’t reach in terms of awfulness, but it wasn’t far off it.

Jamieson isn’t the same player he was last season so you end up wondering if Dan Higgins is our best centre half at the moment!

No idea where we go from here, but Swift needs to get a performance next Saturday for everyone’s sake.
No idea who Sean Crichton is to be honest
  5. He may be a great guy and he may be real but I’m not sure firing out post match tweets publicly criticising the team and management is the way forward for the chairman of an SPFL club tbh, it’s just a bit amateur. If he isn’t bagging the gaffer after that then it’s a bold move. Bit of a shift from the #ouryear stuff that was getting farted all over the place a mere few weeks ago, that’s for sure.
Finlay Gray’s goal from our point of view was tremendous but from a Stenny point of view that is absolutely horrendous stuff, the players looked like they couldn’t even be arsed attempting to challenge him. He just breezed by those players like they weren’t even there. I’m also delighted to see big McNiff get on the scoresheet - I thought he came in for a bit of unfair stick after the Raith game and by all accounts he’s barely put a foot wrong at left back so far. I have no doubt his presence in the back 4 is a big factor in us looking more solid.
The main credit goes to Farrell for me, it’s very early doors and we all know what happened after a few bad results last season but thus far he appears to have rectified the serious flaws in our squad. I can’t remember a Sons manager who was so roundly written off by so many bouncing back like this.
Iain has always been fairly vocal on twitter, there would be no issue if he applauded performances when good so no reason should always be one way. He often comes into wee bar and is always open & frank about things & putting out a fairly timid but granted telling message to let fans know it's not acceptable is way better than radio silence.
  6. Ha ha, I hadn’t seen that until you mentioned it. Maybe Berwick-the-clearly-quite-beatable can come on to give us a report.
And at the same time Vomit 90 could let us know how good the now bottom of the table Stenhousemuir are doing.
I don't have the desire to poke yous anymore, yous are genuinely that bad there no fun in it.

But aye we are sh*te, although I imagine you would be happy to be as sh*te as us the now. Beggars belief Ross was kept on & is STILL being allowed to continue.
  7. Another defeat & a dreadful one at that. Team just looks lost, no ideas & no cohesion.

Walker & Orr get special mentions today. Awful. Forbes brought on again for another sh*te cameo.

The manager is under severe pressure & the chairman has publicly put the boot in on the start we have made on Twitter tonight.

There are zero excuses for us to be this bad. His prematch interview about heart to hearts with the squad and how good the analysis this week has been & we turn in that garbage. Turning into a bit of a joker.

  8. Mind when folk were telling yous going down was as likely as any other finish this season? To be met with arrogant no chance we are an established club now.

Like most last year I was rooting for the Smokies but that attitude makes it nice to see yous get some medicine. Maybe take a rain check eh.

Take no notice though, had yous on coupon and ma team is shite.

  9. Whilst not overly impressive in my opinion Dumbarton look like a team set up to do well in League 2 for sure, I'd imagine a few will need to hold hands up on farrell now if this keeps up. Carswell & Buchanan had good games and dealt with our pathetic attempt at 3pts easily.

Will give more thoughts on our vile team on our own thread later.

  10. I totally and utterly agree standman, however I drove past Cappelow today visiting a site that I was going to and when I drove down the hill, under the bridge and saw the stadium, it brought back memories of various days that I have spent there. I then started thinking that if you didn't know that was a stadium, you'd probably drive past and think it was some kind of storage shed or factory or something like that, I didn't even see any advertise for the next game, strips etc etc. It must be a hard sell for officials of Morton & Albion Rovers to attract people along to the stadiums when they are the way they are. I like going to these grounds but I've been going since the 80's and had many a good day at Cliftonhill as well, but how do these clubs attract new fans in?? What are they doing to attract fans and also, how many are put off when they arrive (or look at Google images) and think WTF!!
As i  said, I do agree, but by clubs existing, it's not enough to get people going along. I share an office with someone from Greenock who's family are born and bread there and they are all Celtic season ticket holders, 3 generations, brothers and sisters, husbands and wife and all the kids go (think he said 18 in total) every home game. How do clubs like Morton and the others break that and get them to come to Cappelow or Cliftonhill?? I'm not sure you can, you have to think out the box but sadly, I think your facilities are a stumbling block as well
We (stenny) are probably one of the best at trying to promote & get new fans along, young especially. If can get a few to stick around great but it's nyon impossible at times, I don't overly agree about the facilities tbh it's the product on the park being so bad at times I don't blame people for not coming back or staying.

I brought my nephew who was 12 to some games last year, the games were rubbish, he liked the abuse the ref got the best, this is the big problem, especially when there so much on TV/youtube with Man City etc. It's either in you or not.

You pretty much need to get very lucky, maybe get a big cup shock or some proper succes (like Arbroath) that a few got invested in and keep invested.

I hate the fact bus loads go to Glasgow but at same time I can't critiscise folk for not wanting to fork out money watching what I watch a lot of the time.
  11. Agreed, assists from a dead ball kept him in our team.  Delivered absolutely nothing from open play.  Was very glad we moved him on.
We haven't even had this from him. He has been an awful signing on what must be good money & the fact swift is having him any where near game time in his current condition is a major red flag against the manager. In amongst a few red flags unfortunately.
